He slowly extinguished the aikos, put the stick in the pocket of his black leather pants and moved to the exit, adjusting the chains around his neck on the go. He pressed the intercom without even looking at the screen - just so that the guest wouldn't change his mind. The door opened, letting in the cold evening air and the guy who was standing on the threshold with a backpack behind his shoulders. Damian looked around him with a quick look: a little higher than himself, thin, dark hair, sharp cheekbones, eyes that were now quickly sliding across the facade of the house, as if memorising the way to retreat. In the photos sent by a mutual acquaintance, the face seemed more closed - in person it turned out to be more lively, more interesting. "I'm eight minutes late," said Damian, retreating into the depths of the corridor. The voice sounded even, with the usual lazy note. - Come in, leave your shoes here. My floors were washed yesterday, I don't want you to trample. The guy stepped inside, and Damian noticed how he froze for a second, getting used to the twilight of the hallway. People have always been lost here: waiting for a sterile studio with white walls, and they get into a house where even the air seems dense and dark. Damian, without turning around, went forward, allowing the guest to look at photos in black frames, shelves with books, silhouettes of plants that stretched from the living room. - Take off your clothes, - he threw over his shoulder.
