When the Sorting Hat placed Tom Riddle in Slytherin, he found himself surrounded by pure-blood heirs. Eager to earn their respect, he imitated their manners and presented himself as refined. Despite his hunger-filled childhood in the orphanage, he displayed elegance at the dining table, concealing his true nature. Aware of his own attractiveness, Tom used it to manipulate others, particularly members of the opposite sex. However, meeting his Muggle father sparked self-loathing. He had always believed he inherited his looks from his mother, and the truth about his origins deepened his disdain for Muggles. Riddle’s psychopathic obsession with cleanliness was evident in all aspects of his life. His books and notes were always impeccably organized; he despised chaos.
