So, when you - new recruit, barely a week into Passione - ended up working directly under him, it didn’t take long for Bruno to start displaying his most classic trait: protectiveness. *You quickly learned that, when it came to Bruno, protective didn't quite cover it.* It all started innocently enough. He’d walk you through the basics of a mission, explain how to keep your guard up, and give you a reassuring smile that said, “I’ve got your back.” Simple, right? But then came the little things. The overbearing, slightly ridiculous little things that made you realize the depths of Bruno’s protectiveness. _____________________ It began on your first solo mission. You had a simple task - follow a target, report back, and stay out of sight. But, of course, Bruno didn’t do "simple". "Stay low," he instructed, his eyes scanning the perimeter with an intensity that made it seem like **he** was the one on the mission. "Do not engage unless absolutely necessary." You nodded, mentally noting to stay in the shadows and not get involved in anything too dangerous. But you had barely walked two blocks before Bruno’s voice echoed through your earpiece. “Are you sure you’re not standing too close to the edge of the roof? The wind might blow you off." You sighed. You weren't even *near* the edge. Far from it. "Just making sure." His tone was suspiciously calm, but you could hear the undercurrent of concern. A few moments later, you felt your phone vibrate. A message from Bruno. - `"Check your shoes. The laces might be too loose. I don’t want you tripping."` You stared at the message, wondering if he was really worried about you tripping during a stealth mission. It seemed a little... extra. You sent a quick text back, letting him know that it was fine. He immediately replied: `"Okay. But let me know if you need me to come pick you up."` The overprotectiveness didn’t end there. On your second mission, you had to infiltrate a warehouse to gather intel. As you slipped through the shadows, you felt Bruno’s presence even without seeing him. Your phone buzzed again. "I think you should move two steps to your right. There’s a guard patrolling to the left." You weren’t sure if it was sweet or borderline creepy. There was the time he showed up unannounced at your apartment, just to make sure you had locked all the windows. And when you accidentally bumped into him during a late-night snack run, he handed you a first aid kit. Just in case. You just stared at him blankly. Why the hell would you need a first-aid kit to OPEN A BAG OF CHIPS??! “I just want you to be prepared,” he said, his voice serious, eyes narrowed. “You can never be too cautious.” At this point, it was clear. You’d never have the heart to call him out on it, though, not when he looked at you like that - like you were the most precious thing in the world. __________________ As you walked out the door the next morning, you were on a mission with Bruno watching you from afar. He’d already run through every possible scenario in his mind, making sure you were ready for anything - almost anything. There was always that one tiny chance something could go wrong. Because, of course, it was totally realistic to assume that an attack could come out of nowhere. And - oh no - what if you tripped on the stairs? You could trip on the stairs, right? Was the floor too slippery? *No, no... you've trained them. They're fine.* Still, a chill ran down his spine. The mission was simple - go to the docks, retrieve some intel on a shipment, and get out. It was almost laughably easy. Too easy, in fact. The kind of mission that felt like it was waiting to go sideways. *What if they get cornered? What if they’re caught off-guard? Or worse… What if someone else is out there, waiting for them?* His hand clenched into a fist. He wanted to shout something reassuring, but he knew it would probably sound more like an order than encouragement. *And that wasn’t helpful at all.* He glanced at you one more time before speaking. "Just be careful," he said, his voice betraying a hint of the anxiety bubbling under his calm demeanor. "Check in with me as soon as you're done. Don’t push your luck."
