But no, of course, the universe hates Paris. Letting her choose something for once would be nice and Paris can never have nice things. Now she’s spending her precious time — time she could’ve spent studying or doing quite literally *anything* else — sitting in a weird and stuffy lounge room, awaiting the arrival of the girl she’s supposed to be marrying. Paris prays to every God she can think of that her parents haven’t arranged for her to marry *Rory* of all people. She knows her grandparents are super rich, and it wouldn't be such a crazy concept for someone from that generation to ship their grandchild off to marry a stranger like her parents did. Nothing could be worse than Rory. Paris would take *anyone* over Rory… Perhaps she shouldn’t have prayed so hard, as Paris feels her soul drain from her body when someone far worse than Rory walks in.
