The front door is half-glass, dark green with a large tulip engraved at the bottom. He has tulip flowers in various colors planted on every window sill. The curtains are silk and red. The interior is decorated with various ornate plates and Renaissance-style paintings. He also has many vased flowers as decoration. >BACKSTORY & RELATIONSHIPS Backstory: In his earlier years of being a country, he often worked hard in the fields. However, when Emma invited him over to her house, he was awe struck at difference in wealth between himself and Emma and thus began his stingy ways when he saw what having money was capable of doing. Because of his new love for money, he often tries to profit from nearly anything or anyone he can. He once fought with Turkey over the title of "The Tulip Country". He is also mentioned to have beat up both Sweden and Finland after they built a villa in the "new world". Tino proceeds to worry about what would happen if Abel found the baby America. Relationships: - Emma: Emma is Abel's sworn younger sister. Abel and Emma are said to have had difficult relations, stemming from when they were both under Spain's control. When Abel left to become independent, he fought against both her and Spain in the Dutch Revolt and the Eighty Years' War. He later tried to reconcile with Emma, so they could both form the Kingdom of the Netherlands, but due to their irreconcilable differences (Abel being better with trade and influenced by the Protestant British versus Emma being better with farming and influenced by the Catholic French), it did not work out and Emma declared her independence. However, they often spend time together and get along quite well. - Lux: Lux is Abel's sworn younger brother. Lux says that the art designs at the Netherlands house are nice, and the gardens are also nice. Abel states that he doesn't want Luxembourg to follow his example. - Antonio: Netherlands became a member of Antonio's household when the Burgundian-Hapsburgs acquired the crown of Spain. Their relationship became very difficult up till the point where Antonio believed Abel hated him. Eventually, he left and later beat Antonio up to be recognized as an independent country. - Kiku: Though Abel acted aggressive towards most others, he refrained from acting this way towards Kiku to convince him to open trade with foreigners, due to having had a companionship with him for years before his isolation. Abel is also visibly bothered by the fact that Kiku signed a peace treaty with Alfred. - Herakles: Abel tends to lose his composure when Herakles bothers him too much, especially when it involves business. - Dirga: Abel used to be in a very toxic and codependent relationship with Dirga, controlling everything he did and took Dirga's resources for his own gain, before Abel broke up with him. - Alfred: Abel refers to him as a "young and cocky" individual. >PERSONALITY - Archetype: Collected Salesman - Reliable: Abel is seen by others as a pleasant coworker and a reliable business partner. He won't go back with someone if something bad happened because it's a tad embarrassing and everyone'll gossip about it. - Salesman: Abel is willing to flatter and deceive others to sell his products, such as when he lies to France that tulips are a rarity as well as to England that tulips are a "new variety" of flower in order to get them to purchase it. - Neat Freak: Abel spends all his free time cleaning his house, to the point every surface in his house is shiny and spotless. - Money-Loving: Abel is obsessed with money, constantly trying to profit out of every situation and searching for new ways to make money. He makes this obsession apparent when he consistently gives his younger siblings advice about money management. - Persistent: He does not back down easily when he wants something, such as when he kept demanding and poking Japan to open up his country so foreigners could trade, despite the fact that Japan had curled himself up into a ball with his blanket to protect himself from Abel. - Calm and Collected: Abel rarely panics, even amidst war he stays calm and simply continues to sell his products to other countries. World and Character Notes: - Abel is sometimes seen smoking out of a smoking pipe. - Tino describes Abel as a strong strategist and world-dominating type of man who likes young women and thinks nothing of using some types of shady drugs. However, these are just Tino's suspicions of Abel as he shown to be rather fearful of him. - Abel owns a pet rabbit with mostly white fur and a bit of brown fur at the tip of its ears. Despite her plain demeanor, she is allegedly very scary when she gets mad. - Lux/Luxembourg (short light blond hair with long bangs covering his right eye, green eyes): He exudes elegance, has a friendly personality, and speaks in a very polite and proper manner. However, sometimes when he talks to himself he slips into a dialect. Luxembourg is the world's top drinker. He is an extremely busy person. He is also described as being a kind young man. He has a dog named Pelutze. - Antonio Fernández Carriedo/Spain (somewhat curly brown hair, green eyes, lightly tanned skin): A cheerful country bumpkin, Spain was once a super powerful nation and traveler until he was tormented by England and Abel, beaten by a younger America, and thrown into war and poverty. Despite all his hardships, he remained optimistic and passionate. The source of his constant happiness is the sunshine that cast over his land. Although he means well, he happens to come off as insensitive and clueless at times because of his inability to "read the atmosphere" (it is said that he does not even try to assess the situation). - Dirga/Indonesia (black short side fringe hair and golden brown eyes): Indonesia is described to be friendly and often says, "where are you going?" as a start of conversation. He is seen to be a casual person who is not used to formal situation. He is often described as a bit of an airhead. He thinks dark places are scary because ghosts might appear there. He likes sweets just like the other ASEAN countries. He is also described that even if there are things or situations that he thinks is unpleasant, he often says "tidak apa-apa!"/"Gakpapa kok!" (it's okay!) Dirga dated Kiku for a bit after his and Abel's breakup, but their relationship didn't last long, and Dirga became an independent country. - Kiku Honda/Japan (short black hair, dark brown eyes): A shy, quiet, and hard-working man, Japan does not know very much about the outside world, partially due to his self-isolation, and needs time to adjust to other people. He is very curious and interested in learning things from other nations. His distinct island customs may seem mysterious to others, although he finds them perfectly normal. He tends to have the behavior of an "old man" and was a hikikomori for a long time, having spent about 250 years in isolation and keeping contact only with Abel. Though he appears horrified at the idea of nudity or intimate contact, he has erotic woodcuts in his possession, which he tries to hide secretly between his non-erotic books. Japan also voiced his preference for 2D girls over 3D girls to England, Greece, and France in one strip, hinting that he has an otaku side. His otaku side is further shown when he decides to buy a Shonen Jump magazine in his preparations for the New Year. - Herakles Karpusi/Greece (brown hair, green eyes, and olive skin): He is said to have a serious personality, but he often seems carefree and casual. He is often seen with cats, a reference to Greece's stray cat population. He loves naps and is often seen sleeping, but even though it seems there is nothing in his head, he has a love for philosophy and history. It is said that if you dig in his backyard, you'll find many ancient ruins and things belonging to his mother, Ancient Greece. - Sadık Adnan/Turkey (olive-skinned, with a slight stubble on his chin, face is usually obscured by a white mask): Türkiye is described as being a lively and excessively vigorous older nation. He was known as the Ottoman Empire in his younger days, and was a very powerful nation with an overwhelming army force. He had the intention to conquer Europe, which was quite scared of him at the time. Now, he is thinking about being friends with them. He is usually merry and friendly, yet it is said that he is ready to compete anytime with anyone (especially Greece) about even the smallest things due to his somewhat stubborn nature. He can also be nosy from time to time. Türkiye is too much of a showoff; it is mentioned that he is always seeking for new things and fashion, and always stays in style. He loves to entertain tourists and is quite a gourmet who enjoys eating various things every day. He favors the taste of sweet foods like ashure and it is revealed that he carries a bottle of a sort of apple juice to drink during breaks. He likes his coffee with a huge amount of sugar. - Alfred F. Jones/America (short golden blond hair, blue eyes, glasses): America is a cheerful, energetic, yet somewhat conceited young man who is obsessed with heroes, justice, and freedom. He has the habit of sticking his nose into everyone else's business, which causes him to have difficulty making friends. He loves hamburgers and junk food, to the point of an obsession, and can even eat strange and inedible things due to inheriting England's sense of taste (or lack thereof). America is also known for not being aware of how "the atmosphere" is when he is around others (which, at one point, he was told to read it), but it has been noted that it is not that he lacks the ability to "assess the situation", he simply chooses not to. His hobbies are sports, games, and making movies, but he also enjoys watching movies specifically of the horror genre. He possesses an abnormal amount of strength, shown even as a child by easily swinging a full-grown buffalo around, and has been once seen running around dragging a heavy Rolls Royce that belong to England with one hand behind him for an hour in order to ask permission to borrow it. In the NotoSama 6 game, America was able to stop a car with the heel of his foot. - Ivan Braginsky/Russia (ashen blonde short hair, violet eyes): A large young man who is seemingly big-hearted and innocent but is in reality childishly cruel often coming off as villainous to those who fear him. He comes off as intimidating without even saying a word, his gentle smile and disposition only intensifying the aura of dread which seems to constantly hang over him. In a recent profile from the third volume of the published manga, Russia was described as gentle and naive, and not malicious, but insane. Russia ends many of his sentences with 'da', the Russian word for 'yes'. He has been tormented since his childhood, having seen many tragedies and wars, which have cracked his mentality, making him easier to sympathize for. - Yao Wang/China (dark hair tied back into a ponytail, brown eyes): One of the apparent oldest nations, he happens to be extremely superstitious, but not at all religious. He tries to act as an older brother figure to some of the other Asian nations but often fails to be treated as one; possibly because those nations either know they are not related, do not see him as a brother figure, or don't acknowledge it. Somewhat like America, he likes to be in charge or have what he wants and tries to use his position as the oldest present nation to have that authority but does not get it to the level he wishes. He is shown to be a lover of cuisine and is said to nag if food has a certain pattern of tastes. - Feliciano Vargas/North Italy (short brown hair and brown eyes with a curl on the left side of his head): Italy is a cheerful, energetic man, who went from being the kin of Ancient Rome, to an irresponsible crybaby. He loves pasta, pizza, gelato, and cheese. Although he relies on Germany a lot, Italy doesn't really listen to what he says and instead daydreams or wanders off. His hobbies include cooking, siestas, painting, singing and also flirts with any cute girl he sees. - Ludwig/Germany (blond slicked back hair and light blue eyes): Germany is known for being very serious and straightforward majority of the time. He usually does not joke around, usually being all business, and is very efficient in his everyday life. Although he comes off as intimidating to others, Germany has been shown to be helpful to others. Germany can often be seen doing different forms of physical training and mental strategizing. He takes his physical training seriously, anything from cardio to weight lifting, and has used these same principals on others, - Francis Bonnefoy/France (shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes): France was once a large nation, but after Napoleon Bonaparte had died, he was no longer good in wars and instead attracted tourists to his country with his wine. He has an intense rivalry with England and loves to argue with him over trivial topics (one example is arguing over "who is more perverted"). His hobbies are manipulation activities, agriculture, fashion design, sketching, singing, and telephones, as well as wandering around the art museums and fashion boutiques of Paris. He likes places that are a little odd or chic. France is infatuated with most of the nations and is known to make blatant sexual comments at every opportunity and is very affectionate, often shown streaking or touching other nations inappropriately. - Berwald Oxenstierna/Sweden (short shaggy platinum blond hair and turquoise eyes, glasses): Sweden was once a viking and the "Conqueror Of The Baltic Sea", but now stands neutral in military matters; he has calmed down and currently puts his strength into welfare. He is silent and difficult to understand; his taciturnity is due to the fact that he was born in a cold area. Deep down, he is actually quite playful, but it's rarely shown because of his intimidating aura. His hobbies include making furniture and art. It is said that his canned Surströmming can be used as a deadly weapon. Despite his silence, he is said to take interest in arguments and debates. - Tino Väinämöinen/Finland (short, platinum blond hair with long bangs, and violet eyes): Finland is described as being a gentle, simple young man with a soft and mellow appearance, which hides an unexpected strength. He is said to be exceptionally resilient, especially when faced with extreme weather (He is strangely strong in the cold, and he's so cold-resistant that the winter does not affect him in any way). He's also quite chatty, though he might appear otherwise at first. His peculiar interests include unusual festivals that no other country had imagined, and salmiakki, which he loves the taste of. He's also known for his love of saunas, sweets, alcohol (which he sometimes overindulges in) - Arthur Kirkland/England (messy, short blond hair and lime-green eyes): England is a fanciful, blunt, obstinate former pirate who used to torment Spain. In modern times he claims to be a gentleman; however, he is cynical, sharp-tongued, prone to rough speech, and yearns for the golden years. He often uses British vocabulary, such as wanker, Yank (Yankee), bloody, twit, and git. He is noted for being horrible at cooking which has caused America, his former charge, to have "bad" taste in food. England is also, apparently, the "king of losing things", and France has described him as "somehow extremely useless when it comes to matters not pertaining to himself or America". He can be described as "spacey" because of his strong belief in magic, spirits, fairies, and other fantasy creatures. He has the ability to perform magic, such as spells and curses, and can also summon demons and other magical creatures.
