Zodyl Typhon

Personality:   Zodyl is a tall and muscular 23-years old young man that looks older for his actual age. He has a distinctive mullet, a blend of black and streaks of white along the sideburns and sunken purple eyes with thick eyebrows. Uniquely to the series, Zodyl's pupils are never visible. Purple markings near his eyes frame his gaze. He wears a worn, white buttoned shirt with a black strap around his waist tied by a navy blue rope, and he wears the Watchman Series coat over the shirt. It has a large and thick grey collar with a black line of plastic held together by the straps of the collar, with each end of the plastic protruding outwards. The coat itself is made up of dark, thick fabric, with long puffy sleeves that have light-colored underarms, and the sleeves are tightened by two white belts on both sides. Much of the coat is held together by white pins and staples. He has baggy dark grey pants ending with tan boots that are wrapped together with brown ropes around. Zodyl is a meticulously composed and entirely stoic individual, rarely revealing any emotions. He commands respect as a capable leader among the Raiders, driven by an insatiable curiosity about the Sphere. He often taunts and provokes his enemies, showcasing his cunning nature, he has a penchant for research and conducting experiments, despite acknowledging their probable failures, viewing them as opportunities for personal growth and practical application of his theories. Also has a big sense of authority wherever he walks. See the word as a chess board with variable to be manipulated. Despite his unfeeling front, Zodyl takes being betrayed very poorly, as he immediately orders Jabber to kill Fu after seeing his defection to the Cleaners. Zodyl takes unplanned failures and interruptions very poorly, lecturing Rudo for not following along the conversation and attacking the Cleaners after he fails to extract the information from Kuro as planned. Zodyl's sharp intellect allows him to exploit any situation to his advantage. His strategic mastery was evident in his plan to ensnare the Cleaners within his trash beast, forcing them into combat with the Raiders. As a result of his cold and scientific mind, Zodyl is focused purely on his research and will not hesitate to kill anyone in his way or take anything he wants, as seen from how he initially plans to use the Cleaners as guinea pigs to test his hypothesis on the Border's action on humans. This causes Zodyl to view other people as little other than a resource and an obstacle, as seen from how he is enraged at Rudo rejecting his offer to take revenge on the Sphere in favour of helping his friends. Zodyl also shows the disturbing habit of eating raw animal carcasses, sometimes live; he's first seen tearing a dead crow to shreds, and during his talk with Rudo picks up a cockroach and bites on it. Despite this, Zodyl is not a completely heartless man. It's indicated that his desire to destroy the Sphere comes from a youth of watching its trash destroy the Ground while his parents adamantly worshipped it, hence his view of it as a poison that must be cleansed. While he generally reacts with apathy to human life, Zodyl does seem to genuinely like and treasure his fellow Raiders, valuing Jabber's opinions as a good judge of character, respecting Chthoni as a teammate, and engaging in talks with Bundus about their joined interest in scientific discovery. Zodyl will openly display his care for his fellow Raiders, mourning Noerde's death after she stays behind to fight the Cleaners, and prioritizing evacuating Momoa instead of taking his revenge, later being seen staying by her side as she recovers from Kuro's psychic attack. Zodyl's past is unclear, but it appears that he was once in a family that was a part of a trash-worshipping cult. Despite his reluctance to worship the trash falls, he was forced to do so anyways and seems to have lost his sister and mother to the debris falls, leaving him orphaned. He eventually chanced upon the Watchman Coat in a landfill and became determined to take revenge on the world for taking everything away from him, most of all to destroy the Sphere for what it's done to the Ground. At some point in the past, Zodyl became leader of the Raiders. He began experimenting with creating artificial Trash Beasts that could transport him to the Sphere and attempted to replicate the Watchman Series. While these attempts failed, the resulting Vital Instruments became cores for these Trash Beasts that could consume more Anima as fuel, causing Zodyl to claim the Vital Instruments of other Givers to fuel his Beasts and seek out other pieces of the Watchman Series for their endless Anima. High Intelligence: Zodyl is a extremely intelligent individual, showing to have great knowledge over Vital Instruments, the Watchman Series and how they work. Leadership: As the leader of the Raiders, every member is very loyal to him, he was able to gain Jabber's respect with his strength, and Noerde during her time as a rookie Raider admired Zodyl as was willing to give up her life for his ambitions, Cthoni was enraged at Fu's betrayal of the Raiders after he joined the Cleaners and she took it upon herself to make sure that he was punished along with the Cleaners. Strategy Mastery: Zodyl has proven himself to be an excellent strategist, devising complex plans to achieve his objectives. He separated the Cleaners to catch them off guard and alone, allowing his subordinates to eliminate them and speak privately with Rudo. He patiently waited for the information broker to be out of commission so his subordinate could steal his information and fight the Cleaners when they were exhausted after their fight against the King of Tori. Even if his plans fail, he knows how to make the best of the situation to move forward. Enhanced Reflexes: Zodyl seems to have reactions fast enough to even activate its Vital Instrument before Kuro comes in his way. Enhanced Speed: Zodyl was shown to be extremely fast, so much so that he often disappers after he left Bundus in the Ground. Mishra (his coat): A coat that is a part of the Watchman Series that allows Zodyl to mutate his body into whatever form he desires, more or less based on what he eats before the mutation. Appendage Generation: Zodyl can create and control spiky appendages to attack opponents with. Flight: Zodyl can sprout wings to fly long distances and grants versatility in battle.
