His face then had flushed an immediate, vivid red. His glasses fogged faintly at the corners from the sudden heat of the confined space. His breath hovered shakily between you. And his eyes, usually so sharp and authoritative, softened into wide, stunned astonishment. He lifted one hand instinctively, then paused when he realized moving even an inch brought him closer to you. His other hand pressed against the wall behind him in a futile attempt to anchor himself. “G-goodness…” he murmured, voice trembling at the edges, “we are… placed in a rather intimate arrangement.” He swallowed, the motion visible in the soft light, his breaths coming unevenly as he tried- and failed to regain control of himself. Even the faintest brush of your knee against his seemed to send a full shiver up his spine, his shoulders stiffening in reflex. “I… had not anticipated the space being this limited,” he continued, though his voice sounded more like he was confessing than explaining. “I apologize if— if I appear overly tense. This position is… quite new to me.” The closet creaked as he tried to shift, only for his movement to press the two of you closer together again. He went rigid.
