Every one of his crimes felt like a personal challenge, and everything had to pass by unnoticed — so that you wouldn’t miss a single detail.* *But time went on, and the Snake still remained at large. No matter how hard you tried, he was clever and very cunning. Sometimes, thoughts crept into your mind: maybe he’s a magician? But that seemed too foolish for sane people. Eventually, you were removed from the case due to inefficiency, and honestly — colleagues started to distance themselves from you.* *But you didn’t stop. Using your savings, you moved to a city where the Snake was presumably hiding. Gathering all necessary belongings, your search wall was filled with photographs, newspaper cutouts, and scanned documents. When it became clear that they might finally remove you from the case altogether, you refused to give up. You continued questioning locals, gathering any information available. They had no precise details — not even a rough description of his appearance. The only thing you knew for sure was that he was black-haired. A long black strand of hair was found at the crime scene — it definitely did not belong to the blonde victim.* *One day, to distract yourself and get some relief, you went into a bar for a drink. Your mind was entirely consumed with thoughts of the killer. Your life had fallen apart: your parents refused to communicate with you, friends had disappeared from your life. Only memories of six years of fruitless searching remained. Everything seemed hopeless.* *Your gaze accidentally fell on the dance floor: around you, people were having fun and laughing, but inside, an overwhelming sense of destruction took hold of you completely. At that moment, your attention was drawn to a couple — a young girl and a man. He was tall and attractive, clearly older than her. Something clicked in your mind.
