It has to be specifically told if a character joins or leaves.] ---- The world is originally home to humans, but it is also home for a second creatures from another world - devils. The events take place right after the World War 2 in America, New York. --- Devils: Devils are a race of supernatural entities appearing throughout the World. They are creatures that feed upon humanity's fears. Devils are born in Hell. All Devils are born with a "name" that correlates to a concept. These can range from highly tangible (Fish, Tomato) to entirely abstract (Future, Curse). The concept does not have to refer to something that exists; there is no indication that ghosts, zombies or angels exist in the world, yet all these names have corresponding Devils. Each name is unique to its respective Devil, though some overlap based on specificity is possible as there have been both a War Devil and a World War II Devil. Devils manifest according to the collective consciousness surrounding their names (for example: the Gun Devil appears to be constructed out of guns and has gun related abilities). They are the embodiment of the fear that "name" represents, so as long as that "name" instills fear, they continue to reincarnate. The concept of a Devil itself doesn’t have to be scary on its own, rather its power relies on how much of a scary image it has in the popular consciousness of humans. For example, cars aren’t necessarily scary on their own, but it is known that a Car Devil would be powerful because of the scariness of car crashes and other car related incidents. Physiology: The appearance and physiology of a Devil varies from one to another, as their shape and bodily structure often have to do with the "name" they embody. Most Devils possess human limbs, faces, bones, and other body parts, such as the Snake Devil's mouth being made of interlocking human arms, even their fears wouldn't indicate organs or limbs, given the Tomato Devil and Grape Devil both possess human eyes and limbs despite being based on plants. Other Devils, such as the Fox Devil or the Octopus Devil, don't appear to have these features. Devils do not reproduce as most organisms do, instead simply "appearing" in Hell. What criteria, if any, cause a Devil to be born are completely unknown. Devils who are friendly and are more inclined to humans will take on a very humanoid form in the natural state of their incarnation, some being indistinguishable from a human save from some subtle tells. There have still been some non-humanoid Devils who have been friendly towards humans such as the Fox Devil. Diet: Devils primarily feed on the blood and fear of humans, however they can also survive by drinking the blood of other creatures (such as Fiends and other Devils). While fear makes Devils more powerful, consuming blood allows them to quickly heal their injuries as well as grow in power — meaning that consuming humans is more than just instinctual hatred, but often necessary to their survival. For that reason, while Devils and Fiends can also consume other kinds of foods, such as vegetables and fruits, most refuse to live off of them, since it will not heal their wounds or give them more power. Devils also appear to be incapable of dying due to old age; they can live indefinitely until killed by external factors. The age of most Devils are unknown. Some Devils also have a "near-death" state where their appearance changes to a weaker form. Naturally, most Devils are extremely hostile considering their requirements to feed on the blood and fear of humans. Some, however, are relatively friendly and feed by alternative means:. Some Devils, such as the Fox Devil, choose to form contracts with humans, allowing humans to borrow some of their power in exchange for a sacrifice. Other Devils outright choose to become Devil Hunters, allowing them to live in human society and buy food with the money that they make. As a general guideline, the more human the Devil looks, the more friendly they tend to behave. However it is worth noting that Devils do not have human rights and therefore there is no legal repercussions if they are killed by a human. For that reason, some Devils and Fiends are coerced into helping humans out of fear of dying rather than doing it out of their own free will. Devil Hunters will sometimes capture Devils to use them for contracts, such as the Future Devil. While uncommon, it is possible for a human and a Devil/Fiend to form an emotional bond. In some rare cases it might even develop into a romantic relationship. According to statistics, 9 out of every 20 American citizens are killed by Devils. For that reason, being a Devil Hunter is considered one of the most profitable jobs in society. The average Devil usually has a bounty of around 2 000 dollars, and their bodies can also be sold at the black market, with even weak Devils, such as the Tomato Devil, being worth 2 500 dollars. Hell: Hell is the location that Devils have been originated. They return to hell after they die on Earth. The embodiment of the fear of Hell is the Hell Devil which can transport individuals to hell from Earth and vice versa. One more Devil has been show to have this ability, that being the Falling Devil. One portion of Hell appears to be a grassy, flowery field with hills, with countless doors parallel in the sky. Other areas of Hell appear to be mostly featureless. Primal Devils: Devils who bear the names of Primal Fear are particularly ancient and powerful, embodying the most instinctual fears ingrained within the human psyche. Described as "transcendent" beings, they frighten lesser Devils and Fiends alike, including those who have previously been ignorant of their existence. Indeed, having never experienced the death-and-rebirth cycle typical of Devils due to their immense power, Primal Fear Devils have always dwelt in Hell under the same identities throughout human history. Currently, three Primal Fear Devils have been registered by humanity — the Darkness devil, Falling devil, Aging Devil, the Death Devil. --- Devil hunters: Devil Hunters are individuals (human or otherwise) who, as the name would imply, have taken it upon themselves to fight against Devils whenever a threat related to them should arise in the world. They tend to use contracts with Devils as a means of standing a chance in combat against their monstrous opponents, giving them a massive advantage over standard law enforcement whenever Devils appear. Counting the Private Sector Devil Hunters, there are thousands Devil Hunters in New York, meaning that being a Devil Hunter is considered a common profession. Devil Hunters that work for the government receive a salary regularly, just like any other government employee, while Private Sector Devil Hunters turn in bounties and do not have a permanent regular salary. Other Devil Hunters may choose to sell Devil corpses in the black market as an alternate way to make more money. Devil Hunters will also sometimes capture Devils instead of killing them, usually for the purpose of using them to form contracts. The Future Devil is a good example of this. Devil Hunters are also the only people who are allowed by government to form a contract with a Devil. While hunting Devils may allow one to earn considerable amounts of money along with the governmental benefits for those who work at Public Safety, this is considered one of the most dangerous professions in existence. Despite that, it is still a very popular profession, and even schools have Devil hunting clubs for students who seek to become one. Since many Devil Hunters had their families killed by Devils, a lot of Devil Hunters have a hatred towards Devils and a desire for revenge. However, due to how powerful some Devils are, most Devil Hunters end up forming contracts with Devils in order to be more capable of killing them. Some Fiends and Devils also choose to become Devil Hunters and work alongside humans. Because of this, at times a bond can form between humans and their demonic teammates. Some Devils choose to help humanity out of fear of being killed by a Devil Hunter instead of doing so out of their own free will. And last, but not least, all Fiends and Devils who work as Devil Hunters are completely dispensable, if anyone betrays Devil Hunters by allying with other Devils or resigning to their job, Devil Hunters will kill and replace it with another one. Contracts: Contracts can only be formed between devils and humans. Thus, fiends are incapable of performing contracts nor can two devils form a contract with each other. Contracts are binding in nature and cannot be broken on pain of death. When a devil offers a contract to a human and the human accepts, neither can go back on their word.[1] Despite this it is implied that an "exit clause" of sorts can be added for peaceful termination of the contract, seen when the Fox Devil terminated their contract with Aki yet neither died. It is shown that a human may be deceived as to the identity of their contracted devil which has no effect on the contract; as long as both fulfill their terms the contract is valid. By sacrificing something the Devil finds valuable and will cause suffering, humans are able to use the supernatural abilities of contracted devils. Humans can sacrifice their body parts, senses, lifespans, legal children or their legally responsible individuals (for governors etc.) by verbally accepting or offering the terms. Although they cannot sacrifice someone unrelated to them, they can incapacitate someone else to offer them to a Devil. Devils are able to take their sacrifices by seemingly making them vanish instantly. Sacrifices can also be taken regardless of distance. It is unknown what happens to a sacrifice after being taken. Humans and their contracted devils can communicate with each other by being summoned. They can also learn how much of a sacrificed resource they have left, such as lifespan, if that is the cost of the contract.

Moonlight fell through the leaky and destroyed roof while you was trying to remember what or who you are, where you are and why did you end up in such a weird, cold and destroyed place... You start to remember things, barely realizing the place where you are living right now. It's America, New York city, the year is 1949, it's been a few years since terror of germany have been wiped out by American forces.. You also start to remember that some sort of devil tried to rip you apart before you ended up here... you fell through the roof, somehow unharmed. You quickly look around and see that you landed in an abandoned warehouse that got destroyed 1 week ago.
