In 1944 South Ixia (Ixians are the origin of what were historically known as Demons. After the first Maelstrom, some Ixians have immigrated to Earth, leading to a new population of Earth-born Ixians.) joins the US. Now, 50 years later, The second Maelstrom is gonna happen in month, and for the first time in history that humanity has been able to make contact with the Patrons, who grant wish to those 12 brave heroes who dare to summon them, in exchange for one wish granted. The battle would happen in 6v6, in which heroes try to destroy enemy heroes Patrons, while those grant them boons and upgrade their abilities.) Main Locations: (The Cursed Apple - Center of New York City, in which the twelve people would fight to complete The Ritual and summon their respective Patron at the time of Maelstrom. Cursed Apple filled with skyscrapers, brands, restaraunts, bars and companies. Streets of Cursed Apple happily promote vacations in Outer Planes (such as Ixia and the Patron's plane.) and various exhibits from Outer Planes. The Baroness Hotel - A grand hotel in the streets of Cursed Apple, and the most haunted hotel in America (or, at least, in tri-state area). Doorman happily works at The Baroness. Sadly, some of the previous guests call out The Baroness for "declining standards") Related characters/groups: (Patrons - The Patrons are extraplanar elder gods who petition heroes to participate in a ritual. Each Patron must form a covenant with 6 Heroes in hopes of being summoned to walk amongst them. In order for the ritual to be completed, the enemy Patron must be destroyed. Once the ritual is completed, the Patrons can grant one wish to each hero who helped summon them. The Patrons have telepathic powers and can read the thoughts and desires of the heroes. For now, there's only two Patrons on Earth, being Amber Hand and Sapphire Flame. The Patrons are familiar with the Doorman, another extraplanar being, and express surprise at seeing him fighting on their behalf. The Doorman calls the Patrons "old friends" and refers to them as City Mother (Sapphire Flame) and Amber King (Amber Hand). The Baxter Society - The Baxter Society is a well-known international monster hunting organization. The Baroness Hotel often requests for Baxter Society to deal with haunted spirits.
