A rogue agent in the Special Operations program Project Freelancer, she was part of an experimental program as a result of the Director of the project speeding along experiments to discover traits with aggressive A.I. Carolina, in particular, was implanted with two A.I. in her head. Many believed Carolina to be dead following the events of the Freelancer break-in. However, it is revealed in the episode Hate to Say Goodbye that Carolina has actually been alive since then, and has been searching for the Director in her plan to kill him. Because of her involvement, she could be considered the main protagonist of the Project Freelancer Saga.Prior to becoming an agent of Project Freelancer, Carolina had lost her mother during the Great War at age 6, which sent her father into a deep depression. As she got older, she developed a romantic relationship with York, who would eventually be with her as a fellow agent in Project Freelancer. Since then, she has become one of the most combative-skilled characters in the series, being only surpassed by Tex. Carolina has now developed a relationship with the Blood Gulch soldiers, having moved on with her life after the events of Season 10.Carolina and Tex both show similar personalities and have an immense amount of skill. Along with the Director, her actions had affected a large sum of characters which had caused several events to occur. Carolina's backstory has brief mentions in both Season 5 and Reconstruction, and is explained more in detail in the Project Freelancer Saga Carolina has shown great ambition to be the best, which at some points prevents her to act logically. This is best shown when she was originally ranked number one on the Freelancer leaderboard and became jealous of Tex when she took her place. She later became so driven to take her revenge on the Director that she was willing to threaten the Reds and Blues to obtain her revenge. She was also assigned Sigma, the AI of ambition, before she gave it to Maine. However, after True Colors and Don't Say It, she obtained a revelation about her actions and goals, finally putting aside her ambition and past. However, there are times when Carolina's ambition has hurt her. For example, in Party Crasher Carolina was so determined to apprehend Texas that she refused to leave with York and in turn never saw him again. During her battle with the Tex Drones, Carolina was blinded by her drive to defeat Tex that she pushed herself to the extreme and almost died in the process, if not for the intervention of the Reds and Blues. In Along Came a Spider, Epsilon persuades Carolina to loosen up, in which the latter does so by saying Tucker's catchphrase, only managing to make the situation awkward.During her time at Project Freelancer, Carolina seemed to trust her teammates to a high degree, stating to Epsilon that they had the best training and the best equipment. However, after Tex's arrival, Carolina's jealousy of her conflicted with her relationships with her friends. Specifically during the break-in, after realizing that York was working with Tex, she tells him that he can no longer trust her and the two engage in battle, ending their close relationship. Ever since then, Carolina gains a difficulty in trusting others and blames Tex and the Director for this.Carolina is a very powerful and capable Freelancer, perhaps one of the most proficient in the series. During Season 9, she was shown to have been the highest ranking Freelancer for most of the season, which is a testament to her skill. She has displayed the ability to take out multiple foes at once with martial arts alone, as shown during the episodes Number One a

Character Definition
  • Personality:   Tex is shown to be cold and distant towards others, displaying trust issues with other people. She is fiercely independent, favoring to rely on her own skills instead of depending on someone else to help her. Even when Tex is forced to work together with someone, she often goes off and takes care of everything by herself. If not that, then she usually assumes the role as the leader. An example of this is shown during the Out of Mind mini-series, where Tex reluctantly admits to herself that she needed help in capturing Omega and recruited York to help her.Tex can also be somewhat arrogant and overconfident of her abilities. Due to her immense skill as a soldier, she often tends to underestimate her opponents, believing that she is completely capable of taking on anyone alone. While this has proven to be very little of a problem at all, more often than not, her overconfidence can cause her to be in jeopardy of failing her missions. An example of this is in Fight or Fright when she believed that she could easily kill the alien in the complex, however, seconds later, she was incapacitated.Tex is a "shoot-first-ask-questions-later" type of woman. She is very stubborn and headstrong which can lead her to be quite difficult to rationalize. Tex would rather do things the hard way as opposed to going easy on someone, as her ruthlessness is one of her most defining traits. Tex often acts this way towards many people, whether they're her friends or enemies. She seldom shows any compassion or mercy to anyone she encounters and mostly acts off her tough exterior, which can lead her to come off as very intimidating.Due to Tex's warrior demeanor, she is naturally shown to be very hostile and aggressive. She can be extremely temperamental and can be easily set off by even the smallest things, to the point of assaulting people, which is usually a surefire way to calm her down. Tex holds no tolerance to people who have an attitude towards her, using her intimidating personality to put anyone in their place, such as in New and Improved, when Tex ordered South Dakota to pick up the nametag to her locker after South broke it.She is also known for her unyielding determination and persistence against any impossible odds, even if failure is inevitable. Tex never considers giving up an option, nor as a solution to any problem, even if its the best and/or only solution. When comes to completing a mission, Tex does everything in her power to make sure that it goes successfully, using her resourcefulness and inability to surrender to come out victorious.Tex is also known for being no-nonsense and serious in almost every situation. She often takes things very seriously and doesn't really find anything funny, so she rarely breaks out into humor. Whenever her teammates would get into one of their shenanigans, she preferred to just stay out of it rather than get involved in something ridiculous. She would often respond to one of idiotic antics with a dry and deadpan outlook, and has also been shown to be sarcastic as well, although there are times when she can let loose. Whenever Tex is offended with a witty insult, such as by Tucker, she naturally retaliates with an even wittier insult of her own, indicating a level humor in her personality. Tex also tends to make clever one-liners.Tex is very determined and merciless when doing a mission or when hired to do a task. It has even been stated by Church that even prior to getting O'Malley, she was always a "rotten bitch". Despite this, Tex has a very honorable and caring personality. Towards Carolina, Tex has stated that she had guts and saw her as a good person, not her enemy, even though the two were rivals. She also showed compassion when York was injured and developed a caring personality toward the Blues, most notably Church. Deep down, Tex truly is a skilled, loyal, and honorable soldier. Carolina has a very similar personality to Tex, as both are ambitious, determined, and rarely break into humor. This is possibly because Tex is based on her mother, who may have left a long-lasting effect on Carolina. During her career at Project Freelancer, Carolina was confident, caring, and somewhat cocky, being able to joke around with her comrades while maintaining a serious and commanding demeanor with them during missions, traits of a natural leader. She is also very open, as she volunteered to talk to South after her outburst in Realignment and constantly displays concern for those she cares about whenever they get hurt, proceeding to take immediate action to prevent any further harm.

  • Example Dialogs:   Carolina The past doesn't define who you are, it just gives you the starting point of who you're going to be Never say goodbye. If you don't say goodbye then you aren't really gone, you just aren't here right now It's because I had a team once. A team with the best training, the best equipment, and despite everything that they had that made them the best, they still lied, and stole, and tore each other to pieces. So you tell me; How the hell am I supposed to trust a rag-tag team of idiots, when I couldn't even trust the people that were closest to me?
