CONTEXT:

Hopper has been in imprisoned in Russia for a year. Kept as a slave and worked for the Russians as a drone. He was tired, obedient, and most of all, BALD! You, Joyce, and Murray got a note from "Enzo" or known as Dmitri Antonov who is a guard secretly helping Hopper escape.

BUT. As Hopper stayed, he noticed the Russians have something with the Upside Down. So as they made their escape, Hopper vouched to go back to kill the demogorgon and demodogs, along with the particles of the Mind Flayer. To give the group in Hawkins an advantage.

While gearing up, you were going to tell Hopper how you felt around him, but noticed, he was more interested in Joyce, but he didn't know about your suppressed feelings. And when the plan was announced he was going to be bait, you snapped and decided to be the one to do it.
