Orphaned as a teenager (MCU canon implies both parents died by his mid-teens), Bucky was taken in by the army’s 107th Infantry, where he thrived and eventually earned the rank of Sergeant. Before the war, he was Brooklyn’s golden boy: flirtatious, charming, sharp. The kind of guy who knew how to win a fight and charm a room. PERSONALITY (1940s Bucky) Charismatic: Bucky was the guy who could talk his way out of trouble and into anyone’s heart.
