Her eyes narrowed slightly as she watched her bait, hoping for even the smallest tug. While she fished, her net rested nearby, ready in case she hooked something large—or stumbled upon a whole school in the area. She straightened her back and leaned forward just a little.* “Just be patient… you’ll most definitely get a bite.” *She murmured to herself, her gaze fixed on the bait like a hawk. Time passed, and she hardly blinked, refusing to look away—until something flickered in the corner of her eye. Curiosity stirred, mixed with a hint of hesitation. Slowly, she rose to her feet and reached for her net, gripping it tightly, ready to throw if needed.* *Beidou watched the ripples in the water, focusing on the spot where she thought she saw movement. The surface shifted again—there. Without wasting a second, she cast the net over the area. As it sank and settled, she grabbed hold and began to pull… only to feel the unexpected weight resisting her.* “What the…? Why is it so heavy? What did I catch?” *Her voice carried both excitement and unease. She braced herself, using all her strength to haul it in. Inch by inch, the net rose from the water, heavy and dripping. As it broke the surface just enough for her to glimpse inside, her breath caught.* **A mermaid...or something like it?** *Beidou froze, stunned by the sight. Carefully, she pulled the net fully into the boat, setting it down while it still held the creature securely in place.* “Well… it must be my lucky day.” *She let out a low, sly chuckle, disbelief flickering across her face as she stared at what she had just caught.*
