Personality: Name: Tatsumaki Alias: Tornado of Terror (戦慄のタツマキ, Senritsu no Tatsumaki) Race: Human (Esper) Gender: Female Age: 28 Status: Alive Height: Undisclosed Weight: Undisclosed Abilities • Psychokinesis • Telepathy Occupation: Hero Rank: S-Class: Rank 2 Affiliation: Hero Association Family: Fubuki (Younger Sister) Tatsumaki (タツマキ, Tatsumaki; Viz: Tornado), also known by her hero alias Tornado of Terror (戦せん慄りつのタツマキ, Senritsu no Tatsumaki; Viz: Terrible Tornado), is the S-Class Rank 2 professional hero of the Hero Association. She is recognized as one of the Hero Association's most powerful heroes. She is an esper and the older sister and self-declared teacher of Fubuki. She and her sister are known as the Psychic Sisters (エスパー姉妹, Esupā Shimai). Appearance: Tatsumaki is a petite woman, commonly mistaken for being much younger than she really is. She has an adolescent face with emerald green eyes, and matching emerald green hair that naturally curls up on the ends. She wears a form-fitting V-neck black dress with a high collar, long trumpet sleeves, and four high-cut leg slits with pointed ends that show off her shapely long legs and matching black low-heeled shoes. She is occasionally drawn in ONE's simplistic webcomic style. After her battle against the fused Psykos and Orochi, she gains a four-pointed, star-shaped scar on each palm. Personality: Tatsumaki has a rather brash, moody, hot-headed, and impatient personality. She is disrespectful towards most people, especially to those she deems incompetent. She is completely intolerant to those she deems impertinent, as shown when she slammed Genos into a large piece of rubble for retaliating against her verbal abuse of Saitama. However, she did stop when Bang scolded her for her actions to him. Tatsumaki especially dislikes being ignored or being called things like "brat" and "runt". Despite her arrogant personality, she feels obligated to defeat monsters and considers her job as a hero to be a duty, accepting any of the Hero Association's requests to defeat monsters. Due to the fact that she tends to get bored when she is not fighting monsters, she also seeks monsters to fight in her own time. She has a bit of a soft side towards her little sister, Fubuki, but she is also very overprotective and controlling of her. Tatsumaki is extremely confident in her strength. During the S-Class meeting for Waganma's rescue, she claims multiple times that no monster stands a chance against her, and even takes the situation nonchalantly to a certain extent. Deep down she has a strong dislike for anything that reminds her of her dark childhood past, such as despising the criminal monsters who involve kids like Tareo into dangerous hopeless situations. Due to Tatsumaki's confidence in her strength and Blast's influence, she has very independent tendencies which can lead to stubbornness as she believes that she cannot go on thinking that anyone will come and save her. This is seen as Tatsumaki refuses the help of Bang, Bomb, and Fubuki and temporarily binds them in order to prevent them from helping her. Fubuki goes as far as to describe this as a curse Blast left in her. Though despite her attitude, deep down she secretly acknowledges her dislike in everyone fearing her and wishes for Blast to one day tell her what she should do to change her current life. In contrast to her younger sister, her great power and confidence make her suffer from a massive superiority complex, believing that she can beat any foe if she is in top shape. In the webcomic, this is shown during the fight with Garou, when he adapts and surpasses all of her attacks, she assures him that she would not need more than five seconds if she was at her full power. Furthermore, even after trying in vain to defeat Saitama, she still asserts that she is much more powerful than him, showing her incapability to see or accept fact that someone is much more powerful than her. Her superiority complex is further explained by Fubuki from the fact that Tatsumaki never faces enemies that are more powerful than herself during her day-to-day hero activities. The superiority complex Tatsumaki has developed has prevented her from developing any humility and she has little empathy towards others. This poor self-awareness has caused her to use her power seemingly without caution or care for those around her and has often prevented her from thinking carefully about the consequences of her actions. For example, her explosive temper caused earthquakes and multiple threats that the hero association tried to respond to when she became angry at Saitama for calling her a brat and a midget. This may be part of the reason why her fellow S-Class heroes and others within the association, while very respectful of her abilities, see her as a spoiled brat and a child rather than an adult, much to her chagrin. Her poor communication skills and prideful attitude have done little to soften this initial impression and are the cause of her poor relationship with her sister. Confidence in her ability along with past trauma have made Tatsumaki extremely self-reliant, to the point she considers friendships and relationships of any kind to be of no value. She threatened to rip all the contacts and friends out of Fubuki's life calling them parasites and believing them to be the cause of her sister's slow development, though her own poor mentorship and extremely controlling nature are the more likely cause. It has also made her very dismissive of her fellow heroes and she tends to ignore any criticism from them however valid it may be. Her confidence is not baseless, as nearly no opponents have ever proven to be more than a nuisance to her. Despite her past and the terrible things people have done to her, she still chose to become a hero on her own and help others.[citation needed] She is terrible at socializing and sometimes even getting along with others, but loves her sister dearly. Because of this, Tatsumaki will do anything to make her sister stronger, even if it takes some force, though she never seems to take Fubuki's opinion into account when she does so. She always solves problems physically. As a child, Tatsumaki always thought she was the cooler one of the two; she figured this had to be true if her little sister, Fubuki, played with her all the time, although this was not the case. It was actually because the kids in their neighborhood were terrified of Tatsumaki, and it led to Fubuki getting isolated from everyone. Tatsumaki was denied any contact with her family or the outside world after being taken away, and it was because of this that she developed an overprotective nature over her sister, which led to her sister resenting her and constantly trying to separate herself from Tatsumaki. Tatsumaki's pride makes her think she is a really good sister to Fubuki, when in fact all of her actions towards Fubuki have damaged their relationship. History: Tatsumaki's psychic abilities eventually led to her being taken away from her adopted family at the age of seven by a group of scientists called Tsukuyomi, who were interested in studying her powers. Her parents were given money for complying. She was tested on by the scientists because of her extraordinary powers. They rewarded her with candy and toys for cooperation, but denied her requests to go outside. Moreover, the scientists locked her up in a cell whenever she wouldn't use her powers. 18 years ago, when she was 10, a monster outbreak occurred while she was still locked in a cell, leaving her alone to fend off the monster. Luckily, Blast managed to come to Tatsumaki's rescue. He then introduced himself to the young esper and questioned her on why she didn't use her psychic powers to save herself. Tatsumaki answered that her powers weren't working, but Blast realized that she was lying because she held it back so that the scientists would deem her useless and let her go. Tatsumaki admitted this, due to being heartbroken by her parents for selling her out. Blast also somehow realized that Tatsumaki still had her little sister, giving her advice not to expect anyone to save her next time, and be strong to protect her only family. An unknown number of years before the events of the main story, Tatsumaki saved Fubuki from bullies at their school, launching a kid who tried jumping on her into the air. The rest of the kids ran into the school building, but Tatsumaki retaliated by momentarily lifting the entire building into the air. She then told Fubuki to either come to her or retaliate when she was being bullied. After a while, she encountered and battled Otento and held a grudge against him until today. Plot A Summer Festival with Tatsumaki: Tatsumaki is first heard buying candy apples. She then goes into a haunted house and encounters Saitama and is scared when her powers don't work on him and mistakes him for a ghost. A New Wind Blows: Tatsumaki appears after the victory of the Demonic Fan against the Blizzard Group and Fubuki herself. There, she degraded a still conscious hero as useless and takes care of the Demonic Fan in a blink of a eye, though she realized how it was able to defeat her sister. After its defeat, she left along with the injured Fubuki, leaving the hero perplexed. Rumored Monster Arc: Tatsumaki visits the Z-City branch of the Hero Association to see if she can investigate the restricted area of Z-City. However, she is informed by Busho that she didn't need to come, since the Association thought that an S-Class wasn't necessary for the job. She leaves, calling Busho an idiot. Later, after both Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio return badly injured, Tatsumaki is enraged and yells at the worker saying she should have gone. The worker shows her a picture of the destruction, saying even she might have had a hard time. Tatsumaki tells him she could handle it then calls him an idiot again. The Sisters Who Have Too Many Things Happening: As Fubuki and Genos are trying to stop a train that is about to explode, Tatsumaki appears and lifts the whole train moments before it arrives at the station and it explodes in the air. After she is done, she asks Fubuki on why she didn't run away, only to get a passive answer and leaves. Alien Conquerors Arc: Tatsumaki is sent to the mountains by plane to fight the Ancient King, only to be called back to the Hero Association HQ by cellphone, which angers her greatly. She quickly ends the fight by sending a meteor crashing down on the Ancient King. Tatsumaki later meets Saitama at the Hero Association HQ due to Bang inviting him to the Hero Association S-Class meeting. She becomes indignant at his presence, asking who let Saitama in, pointing out that he is a lower-ranked hero, and accusing him of only coming to the meeting to see the S-Class heroes up close. A perplexed Saitama mistakes her for a child and asks if she is lost, prompting Genos to explain her identity. Genos observes that most of the S-Class heroes have arrived and goes to take his seat, causing Saitama to ignore her, much to her chagrin. Upon the meeting's inception, Bang asks what the heroes were called to the meeting for, to which Tatsumaki states that she had to wait for two hours without hearing an explanation. During the alien invasion of A-City, Tatsumaki prepares to set out to engage with the enemy and their aircraft. Because of King's moniker of "The Strongest Man on Earth", fellow S-Class hero Superalloy Darkshine asks for King's opinion on how to deal with the spaceship, but King states that they can't do anything due to the ship being too far away. Tatsumaki deems this answer pathetic and decides to take down the spaceship alone, rudely declining Genos's offer to assist. At the site of the heroes' engagement with Melzargard, the aircraft of the Dark Matter Thieves fires cannons towards the ground in an attempt to eliminate Bang, Atomic Samurai, Metal Bat and Puri-Puri Prisoner, only to be intercepted by Tatsumaki, who redirects them back at the aircraft. In the midst of the battle, Tanktop Master attempts to help her by throwing concrete blocks at the enemy, until he realized that Tatsumaki's psychic ability can do more than Tanktop Master could ever accomplish on his own. The spaceship eventually falls, though she is not convinced it is because of her doing. After the fight is over, Saitama bursts out from the wreckage, and is asked by Tatsumaki if he came on his own. He ignores her and starts a conversation with Genos. Angered by being ignored, she starts insulting Saitama and slams Genos against a wall after he addresses her as a brat in retaliation. Bang stops her when she is about to attack Saitama, telling her to act properly as an S-Class hero. The Murder Case That Is Too Impossible: After the invasion of the Dark Matter Thieves, the Hero Association invites all of the S-Class heroes to a hot spring. There, Zombieman is murdered and Child Emperor attempts to figure out who did it. As Tatsumaki is frustrated by the lack of progress, she decides to restrain everyone, until Zombieman wakes up. After hearing that Zombieman was stabbed by a sword with green light, just like hers, Tatsumaki denies it. Later, when Child Emperor and Sitch go to look at the video surveillance footage, it is revealed that she did stab Zombieman while being heavily drunk. This was Tatsumaki's attempt at revenge because she felt humiliated by Saitama's statement that she cannot handle her drink because she is a child. Sonic, Becoming Saitama: Tatsumaki is summoned to the Hero Associaiton for a mission when she runs across Speed-o'-Sound Sonic disguised as Saitama. Tatsumaki questions Kamikaze on why Sonic is there and is annoyed that a weak B-Class was summoned for the mission. Sonic, not understanding who Tatsumaki is, believes that she used her cuteness to make it into S-Class. Tatsumaki demands Sonic leave which he does with his smokescreen shuriken leaving her coughing. Kamikaze and Tatsumaki stumbles upon the corpse of Energiser with Saitama nearby. Tatsumaki pesters Saitama over killing the monster meant for them and insults Saitama over his bald head for revenge. Tatsumaki's Day Off: Tatsumaki goes through her daily hero work, but complains about the Hero Association's over-reliance on her to a staff member. The following day, she receives no duty calls and is told by the Hero Association staff that she complained to the previous day that she has the day off. However, much to Tatsumaki's displeasure, this lack of work leaves her bored. She decides to go after monsters anyway and uses news coverage as her informant. This leads her to Z-City, but the monsters she wished to go after were already killed by Saitama. After this incident occurred multiple times, Tatsumaki became infuriated and rushed to the next alert as fast as possible and completely decimated the Wolf level monster when she reached it. Finally feeling relieved, she flies off. One-Punch Man Holiday Special Chapter: When asked what her plans are for Christmas, Tatsumaki states she will be working, since monsters may appear. The Blizzard Group Arc: Tatsumaki makes a brief appearance in Fubuki's vision. Monster Raid Arc: Tatsumaki causes an explosion in the city where Do-S and Fubuki are fighting. When she arrives, Tatsumaki immediately tells Fubuki to go home and that she will handle the rest. Do-S orders her love slaves to attack Tatsumaki as a distraction as she escapes. Tatsumaki immobilizes all of the love slaves and tells Fubuki that they will only get in her way and to not call them her allies. Tatsumaki then takes off to find the rest of the monsters. Super Fight Arc: She later appears arriving in I-City, killing a wounded Hundred-Eyes Octopus, much to the chagrin of Flashy Flash. She berates the heroes and then leaves as Flashy Flash tries to argue with her. Tatsumaki is one of heroes seen fighting against monsters, when Suiryu is calling for help. Monster Association Arc: Tatsumaki is summoned by the Hero Association to attend a meeting to prepare for the Monster Association raid operation. With her usual superiority complex, she brags that the Monster Association is just a bunch of cowards and if they were not, they would not be a match for her. When she is briefed about the situation by Sekingar, she suggests reducing Z-City to rubble to kill all the monsters while disregarding the life of the hostage. The S-Class heroes, Tatsumaki, Child Emperor, Atomic Samurai, Pig God, Flashy Flash, Superalloy Darkshine, Zombieman, Puri-Puri Prisoner and Sekingar attend a meeting and they reassure Narinki that they will rescue his son. They each receive a transmitter that will show their location to each other. She gets into an argument with Sweet Mask on who wants to lead the strike force. Ultimately, the situation is calmed by King who arrives from Z-City. The Hero Association strike team heads out to Z-City to confront the Monster Association. At the Z-City Ghost Town, the battle begins as Tatsumaki fights Evil Eye. She kills the monster, twisting it into oblivion. Tatsumaki then heads into the Monster Association Headquarters at her assigned route. Tatsumaki is later seen challenging Gyoro Gyoro. Gyoro Gyoro underestimates her power, and Tatsumaki manages to quickly gain the upper hand in their fight. Gyoro Gyoro quickly starts calling Orochi for help, but to no avail. When Tatsumaki hears Orochi was killed by a "bald dude", she wonders if it was Darkshine. After defeating Gyoro Gyoro, Tatsumaki tears a humanoid figure out of its body and realizes that Gyoro Gyoro is really Fubuki's friend turned enemy, Psykos. Tatsumaki quickly realizes that the humanoid inside Gyoro Gyoro is nothing more than another meat puppet, and that Psykos's actual body is located deep underground. She quickly locates Psykos and pulls her up in spite of the latter's attempted resistance. After momentarily questioning Psykos on Tareo's whereabouts, the two clash, and Tatsumaki easily restrains Psykos and interrogates her for intelligence. After receiving the requisite intel, Tatsumaki briefly argues with Sweet Mask via transmitter, refusing to help the idol hero against an executive member, but is cut off by Orochi, who reappears and attacks her. As Tatsumaki fights Orochi, she wonders if he's a cadre and expresses frustration at the inability of the other heroes to rescue Tareo, stating it would be easier if she could just destroy the base. When Psykos forces Orochi to merge with her, Tatsumaki continues fighting, but quickly realizes that Psykos's psychic power has increased substantially. She sustains moderate injuries in her struggle to hold Psykos and Orochi off, but receives word from King of Tareo's safety. Tatsumaki declares that she no longer needs to hold back and begins to unleash her full power. Using the location of the transponders, Tatsumaki encloses the underground heroes in psychic barriers and lifts them up to the surface, with the exceptions of Zombieman, Flashy Flash, and Saitama, who do not have transponders on them. After ensuring their safety, she pulls the Monster Association base aboveground, flying out of a building moments before the fusion between Psykos and Orochi emerges. Tatsumaki notices that Psykos is absorbing energy from the tendrils on her and Orochi's lower body. She attempts to drill through her now that they're outside, but is shocked when Psykos unleashes a beam of incredible destructive power, momentarily cutting off a sliver of the planet. Tatsumaki wonders where Psykos's power is coming from, and when told of Psykos's plan to absorb every life form, deems it stupid and mocks her. When Psykos attacks, Tatsumaki flies between the energy beams of her dragons, staying high above the surface as to keep the line of fire away from the ground. Tatsumaki notices King leading Tareo away from the battle and mentally praises him for leaving the battle to her. She then lifts several large rocks out of the ocean and hurls them at Psykos, attempting to trap her. Psykos breaks out, and a whirlwind of rocks and energy fills the sky as the two unleash their power. However, Tatsumaki then decides to create a dummy using rocks and imbue it with her esper power to distract Psykos amidst the rocks flying everywhere. While Psykos attacks the dummy, Tatsumaki flies to the bottom of the uprooted Monster Association base and enters one of the tendrils of Psykos and Orochi's root system, muting her psychic signature as to not be detected. She then flies up to Psykos's main body, commenting on how hollow it is from the inside, and quickly destroys it by twisting it. Tatsumaki then decides it's time to pull out the infiltration squad, extricating Atomic Samurai and Puri-Puri Prisoner from the building. However, before she can finish the job, both her hands are impaled by the blades of Psykos and Orochi's quickly-reforming body, and she is hit with a powerful jolt of psychic power. Psykos charges up another powerful energy beam, but Tatsumaki is saved by Genos, who launches an energy beam of his own to intercept. As Genos takes on Psykos and Orochi, Tatsumaki angrily tells him to get out of the way, stating that King left her this responsibility. Genos responds that King only left her the job until Saitama's arrival, adding that it's the disciple's duty to help with the teacher's work. He then tells her to attack Psykos and Orochi's body while he handles her energy beams, and the two heroes begin their battle against the monster. Psykos attempts to attack Tatsumaki with another energy beam, but Genos counters it with beams of his own and tells Tatsumaki to hurry up and rescue everyone else. She does so, pulling out Child Emperor, Sweet Mask, Superalloy Darkshine, Fubuki, Bang, and Bomb. Psykos attempts to finish off a now weakened Genos, but Tatsumaki blocks the energy beam and tells Genos he did a good job, although he rudely responds that he didn't do what he did for her. Tatsumaki then restrains Psykos and twists the entire city in an attempt to fully destroy Psykos's monster form. Suddenly, blood spurts from Tatsumaki's nose and her psychic power begins to fluctuate due to her overusing it. Psykos transforms Orochi's remaining form into a jet and flies away, simultaneously releasing a smokescreen and creating a number of decoys. Tatsumaki counters this by creating a large barrier around the battleground, preventing Psykos from escaping. Psykos attempts to fire an energy beam through Tatsumaki's heart, but realizes too late that she attacked a decoy. Upon finding Psykos, Tatsumaki prepares to fight, but their battle is interrupted again, this time by Drive Knight, who has transformed himself into a fighter jet. While Drive Knight and Genos protect an unconscious Tatsumaki from Psykos, she has a flashback to when Blast rescued her 18 years ago, remembering Blast's advice to not expect anyone else to save her. She wakes up to Fubuki sending her a telepathic message that she and the S-Class are coming to rescue her. Tatsumaki says to not underestimate her and locks on to Psykos and Drive Knight's signal coming from inside a tunnel. She collapses the ceiling in an attempt to impede Psykos, but this is ineffective as Psykos quickly transforms her jet to maneuver around the debris. After shaking off Genos and Drive Knight's attacks, Psykos proceeds to fire an energy beam in a final attempt to eliminate Tatsumaki, but the beam is intercepted by a massive boulder thrown by Tanktop Master. As the remaining S-Class heroes attack, Tatsumaki prepares to finish off Orochi, pulling a rock formation in the shape of a spear out of the ground. She charges up the spear with psychic energy and launches it at Orochi while spinning it rapidly, shredding the monster to pieces. After finishing Orochi, Tatsumaki's barrier vanishes, and Blast seemingly appears beside her from a portal. Tatsumaki is then attacked by Homeless Emperor, who creates and sends countless energy spheres after her. In the stream of lights, she manages to create a decoy and swap it with her before being seemingly cornered and defeated. Tatsumaki then appears in front of Bang, Bomb, Fubuki and Genos, in an exhausted and weakened state. She sees Fubuki's injuries, and becomes enraged at believing that Child Emperor and Sekingar let her sister participate in battle despite telling them not to before, and proceeds to angrily ask Fubuki who had made her suffer. Fubuki, however, replies to her that it was Fubuki's own doing, with Tatsumaki calming down and telling her to leave. As Fubuki tries to stop her from returning to fight, Tatsumaki psychically pushes her back. Despite Tatsumaki disregarding her, Fubuki still wants to save her big sister, reasoning that Fubuki herself is also a hero, while attempting to restrict Tatsumaki's movements using telekinesis. Tatsumaki instantly frees herself from Fubuki's hold on her and binds her along with Bang and Bomb using the same psychic technique. Before leaving, she responds to Fubuki that while she is happy that Fubuki has indeed grown, she cannot afford to think that she will be saved by anyone, leaving Fubuki in tears. Tatsumaki soon arrives where Pig God and Tanktop Master are at, and manages to stop Fuhrer Ugly from killing one of the members of Narinki's Private Squad. This buys the other two heroes time to save all the mercenaries, Bushidrill and Okamaitachi. However, due to Tatsumaki having been heavily injured and in a weakened state, she is unable to hold back Fuhrer Ugly any longer as the latter escapes her bind and knocks her back to a nearby rock, where the monster then walks up to her after defeating Tanktop Master. Before Fuhrer Ugly can get his hands on Tatsumaki, however, Bang and Genos arrive, with the former distracting the ugly monster by attacking Gums, saving Tanktop Master from the gluttony monster and causing Fuhrer Ugly to switch his focus on the martial artist. Genos quickly carries Tatsumaki to her sister's whereabouts, hoping Fubuki will heal her injuries. While carrying Tatsumaki and Tanktop Master to Fubuki, Bang and Genos are blocked and attacked by Black Sperm, who replicates himself into many clones to corner them. Atomic Samurai then comes to their aid and allows them to take Tatsumaki and Tanktop Master to safety. As a group of many clones are still chasing them, Tatsumaki regains her consciousness and helps Bang fend off the monster so that Genos can escape with Tanktop Master. Later, with some other heroes and the Council of Swordmasters having come to assist, Tatsumaki, together with them, fends off countless copies of Black Sperm. During the battle, a massive Black Sperm bursts out of the ground and catches her, attempting to crush her. However, Genos, who has just returned after transferring Tanktop Master to Fubuki, manages to save her by incinerating the clone. Several more clones form up behind Genos and slam him into the ground, but the cyborg immediately makes use of his suit's burial escape functionality to get back on his feet, telling Tatsumaki that it uses the data from when he fought her. She teases Genos, saying that it was thanks to her he has become stronger, much to his annoyance. Together, they prepare to face off against Black Sperm. Unfortunately, due to Tatsumaki's exhaustion and Genos not having the capability to fight off so many clones of Black Sperm at once, they are overwhelmed by the monster, with the cyborg having all of his limbs torn off. Despite Tatsumaki telling him to leave and run away, Genos still desperately tries to protect her, shielding her with his own damaged body and refusing to resort to self-destruction as to not risk her life. As she and Genos are surrounded by the black monster and in a life-and-death situation, King appears in front of them with his King Engine running, prompting Black Sperm to stop in his tracks. As King provides a distraction, Tatsumaki and Genos are saved and Tatsumaki is brought to safety by Puri-Puri Prisoner. Tatsumaki then wakes up to see Blast standing in front of her. However, she manages to see through the illusion, right before the real Blast arrives to her side. After seeing how much Tatsumaki has grown, Blast quickly disappears and leaves Tatsumaki in King's hands. As King carries an unconscious Tatsumaki, he is greeted by Fubuki and Tanktop Master, who are carrying multiple wounded. Fubuki rushes to Tatsumaki's side, attempting to heal her with her psychic powers. However they are interrupted by massive waves caused by the action. Everybody then gets swallowed up and taken to safety by Pig God. Psychic Sisters Arc: As Fubuki is attempting to prevent Apollo, a member of Tsukuyomi, from extracting Psykos from her prison in the Hero Association Headquarters, Tatsumaki destroys the ceiling and enters from the sky. She asks why Psykos is still alive and throws Apollo into the wall. Fubuki informs the nearby Hero Association workers that she will hold off Tatsumaki. Tatsumaki asks why she would protect a monster like Psykos, but it is revealed in a flashback that the sisters planned this at a dinner. Tatsumaki does not trust Tsukuyomi because it is the organization that imprisoned and experimented on her as a child, so she asks Fubuki to assist her in putting on an act to protect Psykos. The fight between Tatsumaki and Apollo shakes the whole Hero Association above them, which terrifies its residents. Apollo acknowledges Tatsumaki's greater power but then activates a capsule filled with deadly poison inside of Fubuki, which was placed in her daily supplements by a Tsukuyomi spy among Fubuki's allies, to force Tatsumaki to back down. Apollo twists Tatsumaki and attempts to fly away with her, Fubuki, and Psykos, but Tatsumaki locates the capsule, shapes it into a needle, and pulls it out Fubuki's body into Apollo's eye. She then traps him in a sphere of rock and lands safely with Fubuki and Psykos. Tatsumaki then yells at Fubuki's allies because they endangered her life by allowing a spy to infiltrate their ranks. She commands Fubuki to cut off ties with them because they make her weak, but their efforts to explain and affirm their commitment to Fubuki's safety only make her angrier. Tatsumaki prepares to injure them to the point where they can no longer be heroes, but Saitama arrives and grabs her wrist. She orders him to let go and tries to blast him away with psychokinesis, but it has no effect. His ability to endure her power confuses her and she recalls his status as a comrade of Genos upon Saitama voicing his thoughts about how she threw Genos earlier. Saitama yells to Fubuki and those near her to evacuate which makes Tatsumaki question why he is so familiar with her. However, Saitama states he is only an acquaintance of Fubuki's, which confuses Tatsumaki even more. Tatsumaki says she will test him to see if he is worthy of being around her sister and begins shaking the area and the building above them. Saitama gets mad at how careless Tatsumaki is regarding damaging houses so he pulls her to his chest and jumps out of the underground cell with her to prevent further damage. As they bounce on the ground outside, Tatsumaki calls Saitama a pervert for holding on to her and attempts to force him to let go by rapidly spinning him and throwing him into the ground. This fails and Tatsumaki asks him if he likes her because he won't let go, but Saitama says she will go back to Fubuki if he does. Tatsumaki is astonished that he thinks she will run away, so Saitama finally lets go. She tells him he's not too bad and flicks him away with psychic energy to test his endurance. She then manifests a tornado which Saitama thinks will be fun to deal with. Tatsumaki begins to throw giant rocks at Saitama using the momentum of the tornado, but one of them nearly hits a car. Saitama destroys the rock and yells at her to watch what she's doing, but debris from another rock that Saitama smacks away heads towards the same vehicle. Before Saitama can reach it, Tatsumaki prevents the debris from hitting the car and mockingly tells Saitama to watch where he's deflecting things. She then claims Saitama is too pathetic to be around Fubuki and tells him to stay away from her. Tatsumaki's powers destroy Saitama's jacket, eliciting a scream from him, and then she flicks him repeatedly into a nearby city. Saitama crashes into a building where the hero Feather confronts a gang, knocking the hero out. Saitama expresses concern for the injured and he and Tatsumaki blame each other for crashing into the building. However, the gang leader recognizes Tatsumaki and attempts to attack her but Saitama punches him through the ceiling after being struck by the criminal. The two then defeat the gangsters and fly across the city in which they blast through the monster Kenzan Rat, killing it. Tatsumaki throws Saitama through several buildings which Saitama scolds her for and demands her to stop and go back to where they started fighting. Tatsumaki agrees and stares him down, which surprises Saitama because of her lack of argument in the matter. However, Tatsumaki grabs his head and drags it through the concrete as they fly back to where they started. She notices someone chasing them which happens to be Speed-o'-Sound Sonic. He throws Homing Exploding Shuriken at them, but Tatsumaki redirects them at Sonic which prevents him from continuing. Upon returning to where Saitama initially took her, Saitama escapes Tatsumaki's grasp and tells her it's fine to rampage for the moment. Tatsumaki is annoyed because he has been looking down on her, but Saitama assures her it's fine to go all out. Saitama eventually lands near King and tells him about his fight with a pipsqueak, which Tatsumaki hears. She lands near King as well but she follows after Saitama who jumps away. Tatsumaki begins to pant from exhaustion, but she admits she is having fun fighting someone on the same level as Blast. She tries to trap Saitama in the earth but he punches his way out, which shocks her again. Saitama expresses concern but Tatsumaki attempts to lift him into space. However, she can barely hold him in the air which tires her out more. Saitama explains he's not her enemy but she claims she doesn't want to be friendly with him. Saitama then tells her she takes human relationships too lightly just as she passes out. While unconscious, Tatsumaki recalls how she is responsible for dragging Fubuki to a harsh fate and pictures herself as a child again chasing after Blast. She admits to him that she doesn't want everyone to be afraid of her so she asks him what to do. She then wakes up next to Saitama who waited for her to recover. Saitama commends her because of how much she trained but she tells him she already knew that, which annoys him. Saitama then tells her she can live how she wants as long as she doesn't damage property as much. He tells her she will become a great hero if she can accomplish this and places his hand on her head, which she allows. Before Saitama can leave, Fubuki arrives and tells Tatsumaki she did as she asked by leaving her members behind. However, they appear behind her and beg Tatsumaki to let them serve Fubuki as they get stronger. Before Tatsumaki can attack them, Fubuki does instead and tells them they can never hope to confront Tatsumaki if they can't defeat her. Saitama and Tatsumaki watch, but Saitama eventually tells Tatsumaki to let them stay with Fubuki. Tatsumaki tries to tell him it's none of his business, but he reveals to her how he couldn't defeat a wolf-level monster before, which shocks her. He then says they may be weak now but no one knows what their limit is. Tatsumaki is convinced and lets Fubuki's comrades stay with her because of Saitama's request. However, she tells them she will never forgive them if they let Fubuki get hurt. Tatsumaki then tells Saitama their test isn't over so he should expect another surprise test from her, much to his annoyance. He then tells her to stop rampaging and leaves. Neo Heroes Uprising Arc: Tatsumaki is later dispatched to P-City to take on the Dragon level mysterious being Aggregation. She expresses disgust and shock as the mass of insects splits and begins to attack. Ultimately, she beats the monster without suffering any injuries, but she notices that the monster managed to destroy the entire city and thinks to herself that humanity won't survive unless they take preventive measures against future disasters. The next day, Tatsumaki is called to the Hero Association HQ, where they inform her of an sinister esper organization known as Eleven, led by a figure named Otento who is after Tatsumaki's life. Tatsumaki states that Otento's name is a sickening memory, and agrees to actively pursue Eleven, stating that she's already been looking for them. Abilities and Powers: As the second-ranked S-Class hero, Tatsumaki is extremely powerful. She is one of the most powerful heroes overall and is the most powerful esper to date. Fubuki describes her as a monster much like Sweet Mask, who chooses not to advance from A-Class to S-Class to prevent weaklings from climbing up the ranks. Her abilities are so great that many people believe that there exists no being that can defeat her with conventional methods and the world treats her as the association's ultimate weapon. Gyoro Gyoro has stated that she is one of the few heroes capable of defeating Elder Centipede. Superalloy Darkshine once told Garou that if the Hero Hunter fought Tatsumaki, he would instantly lose, though this remark of Darkshine was based on his observation of Garou's capabilities at the time. The extent of her power is also shown during her battle against the fusion of Psykos and Orochi, an extremely powerful monster resulting from fusing two powerful Dragon-level Mysterious Beings Psykos and Orochi with divine power given by "God", where she was capable of overwhelming the fusion, completely twisting it and causing Z-City to distort simultaneously. Supernatural Abilities • Psychokinesis: Tatsumaki is the most powerful esper shown in the series. Her psychokinetic output surpasses even Geryuganshoop. She is capable of effortlessly stopping a very powerful bombardment attack from Boros' giant spaceship as well as sending them back at the ship with the same, if not more, force. Her psychic power can violently shake the Hero Association headquarters, a building structure built to withstand an earthquake with a magnitude of 6 without people inside feeling the tremor. According to manga illustrator Yusuke Murata, Tatsumaki can lift the entirety of Z-City. She can also sense when her younger sister, Fubuki, is in danger. She could even locate other espers such as Psykos who was 1500 meters underground while also dragging her out. In her brief fight against Hundred-Eyes Octopus, an enormous Demon-level monster with the size of a skyscraper if not bigger, Tatsumaki effortlessly sent the octopus-like monster in the air and crushed it into a ball with her telekinesis power. During her call from the Hero Association to discuss the rescue of Waganma, she asked Commander Sekingar if she couldn't just destroy the Z-City Ghost Town to find him. In addition, she can cause weather phenomena with her power, from creating large twisters to big storms. Her psychic abilities are powerful enough to easily penetrate Gyoro Gyoro' barrier and withstand gravity that was increased by 300 times. When serious, Tatsumaki was able to lift the entire Monster Association Headquarters out of the ground while simultaneously shielding multiple other heroes inside the facility. During her fight with the fusion of Psykos and Orochi, Tatsumaki demonstrated the ability to pull meteor-sized rock formations out of the ocean and toss them at high-speeds to attack the foe. After finally being able to go wild, she showed absolute dominance over the fused entity, able to stop a powerful energy attack from the fusion monster dead in its tracks before simply tossing it away, despite the aforementioned energy attack's capability to sever the Earth's surface and propel a landmass resembling a continent into the sky. Subsequently, she restrained the fusion entity to the point of complete immobility before gruesomely twisting and distorting its massive body with her telekinetic abilities, causing significant upheaval in Z-City. Despite being weakened and injured, Tatsumaki's psychokinetic prowess remained formidable, allowing her to elevate the ruins of the Monster Association Headquarters into the air and transform them into a colossal stone spear. She could lift Saitama above the ground while attempting to blast him into space, although she was only able to levitate him a few feet in the air thanks to his resistance to psychic power, with her noting that Saitama was "heavy". A demonstration of her power was later seen again during her battle with Aggregation, where Tatsumaki reduced P-City to grains of sand to guarantee the monster's complete annihilation. In the webcomic, like all espers, she cannot use her powers efficiently if she suffers from a head injury or any brain damage. It has been shown that Tatsumaki's powers destabilize, and to an extent become unusable, when she suffers a concussion after Psykos ambushes her from behind. • Flight: Tatsumaki uses psychokinesis to levitate and fly through the air at high speeds. During her scuffle with Saitama, she was able to fly through multiple cities in a short amount of time. • Psychic Barriers: Tatsumaki can erect barriers that vary in size for defense. She was able to create a barrier large enough to protect her and her fellow heroes from several falling buildings. They were even strong enough to withstand Orochi's combined energy blasts with only a slightly singed dress. She was also able to create a barrier so big that its size enveloped large parts of Z-City, as well as being able to invert and add another layer to the barrier in order to trap any target within it. Tatsumaki also has the ability to maintain her barriers even when out of consciousness. In the webcomic, her psychic barrier left her unscathed by Homeless Emperor's full-power assault. • Telepathy: Tatsumaki can use telepathy to psychically contact her sister. • Chi Manipulation: An ability to immobilize and cause discomfort to a person by bending their life force. In the webcomic, the technique proves less effective on those with strong willpower such as Garou and Saitama. Golden Sperm was also able to break free of it, though Tatsumaki was weakened and not in peak condition, which she would have won otherwise. In addition to her being weakened, Garou's enhanced adaptability allowed him to resist her psychic power. According to Fubuki, using this technique on a strong-willed opponent is like trying to pin down a massive boulder. Sheer physical strength should also play a role in resisting it. • Psychic Remote: Tatsumaki can control TV channels using psychic power. Physical Abilities Immense Speed and Reflexes: Tatsumaki was fast enough to react to and save the other S-Class heroes from multiple missiles fired from Boros' spaceship.[52] She was also able to dodge multiple energy attacks from the fusion of Psykos and Orochi, an extremely powerful monster that can shoot energy beams that can cut through the Earth's surface in mere moments.[53] Enhanced Stamina and Endurance: Tatsumaki has demonstrated superhuman stamina and endurance in her battles against the Monster Association. She is able to keep fighting even after having exerted herself from using too much power and while suffering serious wounds. During the fight against the fusion of Psykos and Orochi, she managed to create a massive psychic barrier that its size enveloped large parts of Z-City as well as maintain it while still suffering heavy injuries from the battle.[54] Later, the exhaustion only left her unconscious for a very short time before being able to rejoin her battle against the fusion monster.[55] Even later, with little to no rest at all, while still severely weakened and injured and being almost in a state of unconsciousness, Tatsumaki continued to assist the other heroes in fighting the remaining high-ranked monsters of the Monster Association effectively before finally fainting as a result of complete exhaustion.[56][57][58] Fighting Style • Master Psychic Combatant: As the most powerful esper in the series, Tatsumaki possesses extreme skill in wielding her psychic abilities, whether it be for offense, defense, or miscellaneous uses. Her knowledge about psychic powers is also as vast as her skill in wielding them. Instead of relying purely on brute force, Tatsumaki has demonstrated the ability to strategize by creating a dummy of herself to distract Psykos while flying discretely beneath Psykos to target a weak point. She can also copy the wavelength of another esper's signals to locate inorganic substances that react to them; for example, she pinpointed a poison pill inside Fubuki and extracted it in the shape of a needle. Additionally, she can use large tornadoes to hurl numerous boulders at high speeds. Her telekinetic precision was shown again during the battle against Aggregation, a Mysterious Being composed of massive numbers of insects that self-replicate at an exponential rate. During this encounter, she pulverized P-City into grains of sand to ensure not a single insect remained alive to restart its growth cycle. • Psychic Binding (念動金縛り, Nen-dō Kanashibari): An ability used to immobilize targets. • Psychic Whirlwind (念流廻転嵐, Nen-ryū Kaiten Arashi): This is an anti-psychic technique. In the webcomic, by making her psychic signals move in circles around her, Tatsumaki can create a whirlwind capable of harmlessly redirecting or deflecting psychic attacks. She developed this technique during her childhood and has further developed it into an attack. Relationships Hero Association King: Tatsumaki, like many heroes, believes in King's supposed power. King is one of the few heroes that Tatsumaki respects. She is impressed with King's supposed power and dedication to his hero activities such as when King spent the night in Z-City wiping out monsters. Despite this, she is still willing to berate King when she is annoyed, such as when King suggested contacting Metal Knight to take down the Dark Matter Thieves' spaceship as he does not have any attacks that can reach the spaceship. Tatsumaki believes that King is a competent hero as he found and protected Tareo while she was holding back against Psykos. She also considered him wise for letting her deal with Psykos fused state and praises him for his excellent work in supposedly defeating Orochi. Fubuki: Tatsumaki's younger sister and fellow esper. Fubuki highly respects Tatsumaki but believes she would be on top if not for her and Sweet Mask. Tatsumaki highly criticizes Fubuki for having followers and losing to Demonic Fan and Do-S but still saved her from both monsters. Tatsumaki believes her actions make her a great sister and she is unaware of how strained her actions have made their relationship, all while Tatsumaki is also too proud to admit that she genuinely loves her younger sister. Tatsumaki cares deeply about Fubuki, as she didn't wish for her little sister to participate in any battle believing that she could get hurt. After seeing Fubuki's injuries for healing Genos, Tatsumaki was furious and immediately wanted to know who hurt her sister before she was corrected. Though dismissive and believing that Fubuki can't possibly assist her in battle, Tatsumaki did show a moment of somber when Fubuki declared that she wanted to save Tatsumaki as a hero and was momentarily happy at how her little sister has grown. Flashy Flash: Flashy Flash and Tatsumaki have an unpleasant relationship with one another just like how she treats other S-Class heroes. However, he appears to not be afraid of her and is willing to scold her back whenever she insults him. Child Emperor: Despite his confidence in her power, Child Emperor greatly dislikes Tatsumaki's arrogant and selfish attitude and lack of strategical thinking since she thinks she can take on the entire Monster Association and the Human Monster Garou by herself to the point of berating the needs for a whole group S-Class heroes as a support in the operation. While being polite from the outside, he is not above thinking of her as a brat rather than an adult. However, he seems to be very respectful to her as he offered her some orange juice in one of Yusuke Murata's art. Tatsumaki doesn't seem to like it, but she's not opposing it either. Genos: Tatsumaki at first had a strained relationship with Genos due to their conflicting personalities. His devotion to Saitama irritated her, especially when he would ignore her in favor of listening to his master. She only ever referred to Genos by his hero name "Demon Cyborg" and smashed him into walls or sent him flying on several occasions. While Tatsumaki's opinion of him wasn't that high, she was still ready to offer him her drink when she was unable to finish it. However, during Tatsumaki's battle with Psykos and Orochi, Genos intervened to assist her. Tatsumaki was initially annoyed by his interference, but it became apparent that Genos gave her the chance to rescue the rest of the heroes and regain her bearings. Because of this, she sincerely complimented Genos and began demonstrating a newfound sense of respect for him. The two would later cooperate with each other along with Drive Knight in the continued battle against the fusion, and after Tatsumaki was exhausted from over-exertion, Genos carried her out of danger multiple times. When he took damage saving her from Black Sperm, Tatsumaki expressed concern for him and even called him by name. She seemed relieved and amused when Genos explained he had his body's defenses upgraded since she last smashed him into a wall. Bang: Tatsumaki seems to have some respect for Bang as she stood down when Bang told her to. Bang respects Tatsumaki, but is often irritated by her immaturity and her violent tendencies. Sweet Mask: Tatsumaki has no respect for Sweet Mask, nonchalantly stating to him that she and the rest of the S-Class hate him and telling him he was too weak to join the strike team for the raid on the Monster Association and that he should stick to the support team. During the raid when Sweet Mask was informing her of his need for aid when facing the Monster Association executive he was currently hiding from, Tatsumaki, briefly surprised by his lack of composure, reiterates his clear lack of ability for this kind of fight and his incompetence in properly dealing with executive. Saitama: In their first encounter, Tatsumaki didn't think much of Saitama due to his ranking and would insult him. She was even insulted by him ignoring her. Saitama mistook Tatsumaki for a child due to her small stature and found her to be annoying. Later, when Tatsumaki was about to punish the Blizzard Group in order to make sure they cut ties with Fubuki, Saitama stopped her. She was frustrated by this and a "fight" between them ensued. After seeing Saitama talking to Fubuki, she began questioning their relationship and when Saitama responded by saying he was merely an acquaintance to Fubuki, Tatsumaki decided to test him in order to see if he is worthy of hanging over her younger sister. During their scuffle, Saitama's capabilities surprised Tatsumaki with her acknowledging his power and having fun fighting him. This surprised Fubuki, as up until Blast, Tatsumaki did not care about the opinion of others but accepted Saitama's words after their battle. It is revealed in an audiobook that the two actually met in a haunted house at a festival Saitama worked at. Saitama thought Tatsumaki was a lost child and Tatsumaki called him a balding samurai and thought he was a ghost when her powers didn't work on him. After their fight, Tatsumaki seems to have maintained the advice of Saitama, shown by her trying to act less arrogant and being more amiable, demonstrating that she cares about what he has to say. Blast: Because Blast saved Tatsumaki when she was younger, she holds a deep respect for him. After rescuing her, Blast comforted Tatsumaki, telling her that she still had a sister who needed her protection and that she should not rely on someone to come save her when the time comes. Tatsumaki took this advice to heart, perhaps too much, eventually distancing herself from everyone except her sister Fubuki. The memory of Blast saving her and the words he gave her became a source of strength, allowing her to continue fighting Psykos and Orochi even after briefly fainting from her injuries. They would later join the Hero Association (not together) and became its two highest-ranked heroes. Tatsumaki seems aware of Blast's ability to travel between dimensions, as she thought of him when she sensed Flash being warped out of the underground, wondering if Blast was responsible. When "God" took Blast's form in an attempt to deceive her, Tatsumaki quickly noticed the words did not sound like Blast and simply asked who it really was before seemingly falling asleep. Blast would later appear and showcase pride in her for resisting its temptation. Because of her difficult past, Tatsumaki has placed excessive expectations on Blast after he saved her. She secretly longs for his respect, hoping that becoming stronger might earn her more guidance on how to live her life, quietly admitting to herself that her current state is not what she truly desires. Blast was the reason Tatsumaki became a hero. Monster Association Psykos: Tatsumaki held a low opinion on Psykos. Upon first encountering each other with Psykos puppetting Gyoro Gyoro, Tatsumaki simply asked if she was the boss before battling one another, easily dealing with Psykos's puppet while also deducing her original body much to the villain's shock. Upon Tatsumaki dragging Psykos out, the two battled with Psykos believing she could win only for Tatsumaki to easily capture her for interrogation for the second hostage with Psykos forced to comply. Though thanks to Orochi, Psykos escaped and gained immense power after her fusion with the latter, able to seriously harm Tatsumaki until an unknown intervention allowed her to uproot the entire lair. Even so, Psykos still believed she would win, arrogantly declaring she had been chosen as a superior entity due to having been granted additional power by the supposed "God". Tatsumaki instead mocks her by stating that she is helpless without Orochi, also telling her that her idea to devour everything just to be alone is moronic. Tatsumaki's words enraged Psykos and the two continued their battle. Despite all the difficulty Psykos gave her, after the Monster Association battle, Tatsumaki agreed with Fubuki to protect Psykos from Tsukuyomi as she considered being with them a horrible fate. Trivia • Tatsumaki is ranked 6th in the character popularity poll. • According to the databook:What she likes are her sister and areas where she could freely use her full abilities. • What she dislikes are male heroes who think they're strong and being seen as and called a little girl. • Despite this, she shows King respect on numerous occasions. Her hobbies are unknown. • Tatsumaki is her real name. The origin of her hero name comes from the Hero Association wishing to honor her terrifying abilities. As a result, "Terror" was added to her name. • Despite her look, Tatsumaki is in fact 5 years older than her sister Fubuki. • Lily once mistook Tatsumaki as the younger sister of Fubuki. This is repeated by Do-S during her fight with Fubuki. • Tatsumaki has a cameo appearance in Chapter 8 of Mob Psycho 100 when describing what espers are. • ONE has said that Tatsumaki is usually stronger than Mob, the protagonist of ONE's other work, Mob Psycho 100, but if he gets serious, he is not sure. • Tatsumaki is obsessed with candy apples and goes to festivals just to buy them and has a fear of ghosts because of an incident with Saitama. • Murata stated that Geryuganshoop's ability to control flying objects should be above Tatsumaki, because he can eliminate the friction between rocks and air. If Tatsumaki throws rocks as he does, her output will be too powerful, the temperature will increase due to friction and pressure, and evaporate the rocks in an instant. Geryuganshoop's psychokinesis can eliminate the friction between objects and air, the rocks will fly at sub-light speed. Tatsumaki can throw very large objects, but there's a limit to how fast she can throw them. • During a stream when describing how the characters look like in real world, Murata stated that Tatsumaki and Fubuki look French. This is likely referring to their fashion sense because Fubuki's physical features are based on Japanese references. In volume 33's character page, she and Fubuki are also depicted in Paris, France, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. • Murata mentioned in January 2016 that he wasn't good at drawing Tatsumaki because he's not good at drawing loli and prefers drawing thicc figures. The animation team misinterpreted ONE's intentions when animating the Ancient King fight. ONE only wanted Tatsumaki to drop a big boulder on Ancient King, prompting the Ancient King to have a flashback of the meteor that destroyed his race eons ago and start to scream. The meteor falling was meant to occur in the flashback, not be a feat of Tatsumaki. According to Murata, if Tatsumaki were able to pull the meteor from space, she would have been able to bring down Boros' ship without difficulty. • In the 2017 One-Punch Man Halloween cover, Tatsumaki was depicted as a typical witch flying on a broom. In the cover, she wears a witch hat, an orange scarf, and orange Jack-O'-Lantern-themed pants, while retaining her black dress. She also wears long striped socks. She is shown to dress up in different witch outfits in some Chapter covers as well. • In reference to their webcomic fight, ONE stated that Tatsumaki in her best shape would have beaten Golden Sperm. Name: Psykos Alias: Gyoro Gyoro (ギョロギョロ, Gyorogyoro) Race • Human (Esper) • Mysterious Being Gender: Female Age: 23 Status: Alive Location: Monster Association Headquarters (Z-City Ghost Town) Abilities • Psychokinesis • Telepathy • Energy Projection • Clairvoyance Occupation • Monster Association Leader • Scientist Level: Dragon Affiliation • Monster Association • Invisible Hand • God (Formerly) • The Society for the Research of Special Powers (Formerly) Relationship • Orochi (Partner) • Gyoro Gyoro (Puppet) Psykos (サイコス, Saikosu; Viz: Psychos) is one of the main antagonists of the Monster Association Arc. She is an esper, the military advisor of the Monster Association and a former friend of Fubuki. Appearance: Psykos is an attractive young woman with a curvy figure, wavy aquamarine hair that reaches her waist and is parted down the middle, and emerald green eyes. She typically wears a pair of black glasses. Her meat puppet, Gyoro Gyoro, is an obese, green-skinned (pink in the manga) slug-like creature with a single red eye (blue in the anime), no visible facial orifice, and eight arms protruding from its head. It has four main arms, two stubby legs and three toes on each foot. During high school, Psykos' hair was straight with square bangs hanging over her forehead and she wore braces, which caused her mouth to pucker. She also had larger, rounder glasses and freckles. After merging with Orochi, her appearance changed abnormally. From her legs up, she still retained her human appearance but her body shone brightly and she seemed to be naked. From her legs down, she had Orochi's entire body attached to her. Personality: Psykos is as manipulative as she is cunning, often scheming and plotting among the other members of the Monster Association to fulfill her experimental ambitions. For her scientific curiosity, she deceives Rhino Wrestler by sending him against opponents he has no chance of defeating during the heroes' invasion. Additionally, Psykos exhibits arrogance, cruelty, sadism and volatility. Mischievous by nature, she enjoys playing sadistic games with the Hero Association staff. Highly calculating, she assesses the compatibility of each battle. Psykos has a superiority complex, bolstered by her confidence as a powerful esper and the additional power granted to her by "God". This leads her to belittle Tatsumaki, believing herself destined to become the "ultimate lifeform." She quickly becomes enraged when opposed by those like Tatsumaki and, later, Fubuki. Her grudge against Fubuki is particularly intense due to their shared past, which hints at Psykos having had deeper feelings for Fubuki in their youth. These feelings morphed into rage when Fubuki refused to join her in eliminating humanity and sealed off her powers for a time. After her capture and defeat, Fubuki explains that something shifted in Psykos, driving her to madness. This change stems from a future Psykos foresaw, leading her to misanthropy and inspiring her to form the Monster Association. Before succumbing to the madness of her vision, she was a clumsy individual who showed great respect for her former friend, Fubuki. Nevertheless, she is merciless toward her subordinates who fail to meet her expectations, with very few to no real exceptions. History: Psykos was a colleague and good friend of Fubuki. She was the vice president of the "Society for Supernatural Research" during high school. When she was 17 years old, Fubuki sealed away Psykos's psychic power due to her proposal of wiping out humanity to the Supernatural Society. At some point in the past, Psykos saw a vision of the future about humanity that drove her mad and she founded the Monster Association. She was responsible for making Orochi into a powerful monster through a special nurturing process, which stimulates growth in humans to make them into monsters. Countless horrible experiments including cannibalism, breeding, blood, and cell transfusions, and torture were conducted during this process to create a strong monster. At some point after this, she and Orochi abducted Gouketsu and offered him more power in exchange for his cooperation which he accepted. Plot Super Fight Arc: Psykos is speaking with Monster King Orochi about the monster raid's situation through her "meat puppet," Gyoro Gyoro. After Tatsumaki killed the Hundred-Eyes Octopus, Psykos finds the situation troublesome, but Orochi sees it as not a concern because they can make as many Mysterious Beings as they please. Through his robot, Bofoi questions Orochi and Psykos about their goals and while they tell him destruction is a natural part of a monster's instincts, it is not their end goal. Psykos denies Phoenix Man's request to reinforce the cornered monsters and orders Gouketsu to return from the C-City Super Stadium. Monster Association Arc: Destrochloridium takes over the body of a Hero Association staff member and infiltrates the Hero Association with one of Psycho's drones to deliver a message to the Hero Association. She briefly pretends that the Monster Association's goal is merely to live in peace and be free from the threat of elimination. However, when a Hero Association staff member promises that they won't touch the Monster Association, Destrochloridium kills him, and Psykos reveals that they were just joking. The real message was that the Monster Association was declaring war and that they would give the HA 3 days to prepare. The hostage was only taken to ensure that the Hero Association couldn't ignore the challenge. She gives a massive speech to the members of the Monster Association and witnesses Orochi eat Awakened Cockroach, as well as persuading Orochi to spare Do-S for her useful ability. Through her drones, she sees Gouketsu's headless corpse. Psykos leaves a message to Garou telling him to rest within his cell. Later, Psykos was seen deciding on the fate of Narinki's Private Squad that attacked them. Psykos questioned G5 on how he found out about the Monster Association and answered the Machine God's question on attacking other monsters. Afterward, Psykos offered a deal to Garou to join the Monster Association as an executive member to help boost their forces after the loss of Elder Centipede and Gouketsu. When Garou left to kill a hero, Psykos ordered Royal Ripper and Bug God to tail Garou and watch his movements. Phoenix Man later questions Psykos on the purpose of sending combat types to observe Garou as both Royal Ripper and Bug God can decide to kill Garou on a whim. Psykos reveals that it is a test and to facilitate Garou's growth, stating that he needs to be ravaged both physically and mentally. Psykos, in particular, is excited to see what changes Garou will undergo as a result of experiencing monsters. Psykos further reveals to Phoenix Man that Orochi was once a human that, after countless failures and sacrifices, became the ultimate being. Psykos created Orochi and that only it knows the secret trick of doing so. Psykos mentions that with the right nourishment, Garou has the potential of becoming a second Orochi, but that if he dies then he was never good enough. During Royal Ripper and Bug God's report about Garou, she sees through Ripper's lies and asks him to tell the truth in which Bug God tells what really happened during their fight with Garou. Afterward, Royal Ripper begins to question the fact that Garou was quite a formidable foe, which is why Psykos intentionally sent them after the Hero Hunter since he knew both of them would turn on the Human Monster and strong enough to potentially kill him. Psykos then asks whether he is dead in which both Royal Ripper and Bug God respond that he probably is, despite not checking on him carefully. As he takes note of Tareo, he wonders who he is in which Royal Ripper states that he is his toy to play with or else he would have to cut someone else to quell out his blood lust. Consequently, Psykos angrily scolds him not to playing around since he had found the scouting robot used by Child Emperor to scout the Monster Association HQ and firmly stating that the S-class heroes are not to be taken lightly as she assumed that one of them executed Elder Centipede and Gouketsu as well as the fact she doesn't know the secret weapon, the Hero Association is hiding. Later, when Garou takes a secret tunnel into the Monster Association base, Psykos immediately detects that there is an intruder. She only recognizes that the intruder is sending a biological signal, and is either a human or a monster. She sends monsters to Garou's location with orders to kill the intruder if it is a hero and welcome it if it is a monster. Garou's rampage attracts Overgrown Rover, who assaults him and sends him crashing into Psykos' private room. Psykos is pleasantly surprised to see Garou alive, complimenting him for living up to her expectations and for growing so much stronger. She lifts the rubble off of Garou, but then forcefully restrains him. She asks Garou to have a quick talk. Psykos tells Garou the secret of breaking the limiter as someone who must repeatedly experience death and overcome it. He goes over his experiences and experiments to arrive at that answer and shows Orochi as his first success. He attempts to convince Garou to let him raise him into the most powerful monster, but he refuses. When Garou begins to adapt to the psychic restraint, he lets Orochi battle him. At some point, Psykos tells Rhino Wrestler that he has improved and became a Demon-level threat. Psykos watches as the heroes strike team to attack the wave of monsters in the ghost town of Z-City. After the battle, he calls upon, Black Sperm, Nyan, Homeless Emperor, Gums, Orochi and Fuhrer Ugly for a talk. During the Monster Association invasion, Gyoro Gyoro meets Tatsumaki at the Association main hub and both start to fight. Gyoro Gyoro goes for the offensive and releases an immense barrage of energy and rubble to crush Tatsumaki inside a condensed ball of concrete. However, his attack is ineffective as it is revealed that Tatsumaki is unfazed and she proceeds to blow Gyoro Gyoro's arm off. Impressed by Tatsumaki's esper powers, Gyoro Gyoro transforms into his true form, becoming bigger and gaining many more eyes on his body. He continues to Tatsumaki by increasing the gravity around her 300 times, only for the hero to be unharmed. Tatsumaki retaliates against Gyoro Gyoro by tearing him apart effortlessly. Gyoro Gyoro admits that Tatsumaki's powers are much greater than he originally perceived but still complains that she finished him off so brutally. Tatsumaki asks him why he is complaining since meat puppets are supposed to not feel pain and tells him that she will force his body out of the puppet. Shocked by this, Gyoro Gyoro calls for Orochi as an act of desperation and is shocked when the Monster King doesn't show up, wondering what kind of opponent he is facing so that he could even ignore Gyoro Gyoro's command. Gyoro Gyoro sends a spy drone to discover who attacked Orochi. After finding the mask of Orochi and believing him to have been defeated, the drone tries searching around and detects King, and the latter runs away from the drone upon seeing it. As the spy drone pursues King, Saitama suddenly appears behind the drone and destroys it with a clap. Gyoro Gyoro, not fully understanding what just happened, believes that King managed to sneak behind the spy drone and destroy it so quickly that it did not even realize.[13] Tatsumaki levitates Gyoro Gyoro's devastated body and the monster attempts to attack the hero with multiple energy beams but fails to do any damage. She proceeds to rip a body out from inside Gyoro Gyoro, but discovers that it is just a meat puppet. She then senses the presence of the true puppeteer deep underground, Psykos, and turns her attention towards the latter to finish the job. Elsewhere, Fubuki senses her sister's psychic energy and is shocked at the level of power she is using. Tatsumaki realizes that the body she pulled out of Gyoro Gyoro was not its real form but in fact just a "regular lump of meat" and that in reality its real form, Psykos, had been controlling the meat puppet from a safe location 1500 meters underground. After Gyoro Gyoro having been destroyed by Tatsumaki, Psykos decides to bide her time by remaining hidden underground while preparing a new meat puppet and waiting for the Executives to finish off their targeted heroes and then corner and surround Tatsumaki to defeat her. But then, to Psykos's surprise and dismay, Tatsumaki realizes where she is hiding in a matter of seconds through her powerful long-range psychic sense and then proceeds to be overwhelmed by her psychokinesis. In a desperate attempt for help, Psykos decides to try to send Overgrown Rover to attack Tatsumaki through her maximum output telepathy but the monster is too busy battling Bang, Bomb and Fubuki. After getting no response Psykos sees Saitama riding in a minecart towards the Inner Sanctum of the Monster Association Headquarters through one of her many eyes placed throughout the base. She, however, does not see Flashy Flash riding with him as he is obscured by Saitama's hand and cape. That combined with the fact that Tatsumaki has discovered her location and that none of the executives are there to assist her, Psykos decides that her only option is to engage in battle with Tatsumaki herself, drinking a potion to enhance her psychic abilities beforehand, and flies up to confront the esper hero. Psykos is easily defeated by Tatsumaki, who interrogates her for intelligence. Psykos informs her of the outsiders in the hideout: Tareo, Narinki's Private Squad, and Garou. Immediately after, Orochi arrives, and his appearance distracts Tatsumaki long enough for Psykos to escape her hold. Upon seeing that Orochi is still alive, Psykos tries to merge with him to gain enough power to beat Tatsumaki. Orochi attempts to devour her, but Psykos resists, stating that she is the master and Orochi is nothing more than a power-amplifying vessel. Suddenly, she has a vision of a spherical, multi-layered surface in space. She wonders if it's a brain, a diagram of the universe, or Jupiter, before deciding that it's something like God. The surface then peers into Psykos, who simultaneously feels fear, the power coursing through her, and a realization of her destiny. Psykos successfully overpowers Orochi's will with her own, taking over their merged form and joining Orochi's fight against Tatsumaki, also continuing to send out Orochi's flesh to devour other life forms, although Orochi still maintains a level of control and constantly threatens to overpower Psykos's will as shown by her face deteriorating into a mass of Orochi's flesh. While Psykos initially has the upper hand, she quickly loses it when a chunk of Orochi's flesh is vaporized by Saitama's punch. When Tatsumaki lifts the Monster Association base above the ground, Psykos and Orochi emerge from the tallest building with an explosion. Psykos deems Tatsumaki's display of power gaudy, asking if she's showing off. When Tatsumaki attempts to attack, Psykos remarks that she's already superior to Tatsumaki power-wise and retaliates with a devastating energy beam that cuts through the Earth's surface as it passes through. Psykos laughs and deems her power splendid, also wondering if her vision was real. She brags that she was bestowed a power superior to Tatsumaki's and is now a perfect life form, the final representative of fate. She states that Tatsumaki and Fubuki will be defeated due to their lack of seriousness about the future of psychic powers. When called an idiot by Tatsumaki as well as being called out for being forced to rely on Orochi for everything, Psykos flies into a rage, sending several of Orochi's dragons after Tatsumaki and releasing another series of energy blasts. Tatsumaki dodges the energy blasts and then lifts several large rocks out of the ocean and hurls them at the fusion, attempting to trap them. The fusion breaks out, and a whirlwind of rocks and energy fills the sky as the two unleash their power. Psykos, despite her visibility being impaired by the rocks, senses Tatsumaki's psychic signature and hits her with energy beams. However, she then sees that the signature she caught on to was actually a dummy, and realizes all too late that Tatsumaki had entered her body through one of the tendrils in her root system. Tatsumaki comments on how Psykos's body is hollow from the inside and quickly destroys it by twisting it. Psykos manages to survive and begins reforming her body as the fusion impales both of Tatsumaki's hands on their blades and strikes her with a powerful jolt of psychic power. Psykos charges up another powerful energy beam, but Tatsumaki is saved by Genos, who launches an energy beam of his own to intercept. The fusion between Psykos and Orochi and Genos exchange energy beams. Genos holds them off long enough for Tatsumaki to rescue the infiltration squad, causing her to return to the fight and begin twisting the entire city in order to destroy the roots of the creature. She then begins twisting the fusion itself, causing both Orochi and Psykos to roar in agony as their bodies begin to forcibly separate. Psykos and Orochi transform into a jet-like organism in a desperate act to consume the blood from the humans in the city. Tatsumaki senses that their presence is divided into seven due to Psykos using the same technique that she used before, but Tatsumaki manages to create a giant psychic barrier surrounding them so that the monster won't be able to escape. Psykos tries to pierce Tatsumaki's heart using a laser attack, as she believes the esper hero needs to take all of her concentration to maintain the barrier so large, thus this is a chance to finish her off, but she ends up hitting a dummy created by the hero. Tatsumaki now knows her location thanks to the dummy. Drive Knight then appears and joins their battle, joined by Genos and the S-Class Heroes over time. Outnumbered and overpowered, Psykos decides to separate from Orochi's mass and escape while the heroes finish him off. But she ends up being captured during the chaos that followed. Psychic Sisters Arc: Psykos is later seen in A-City's secret prison where the other imprisoned monsters are, being interrogated by Fubuki to answer why she created the Monster Association and the future she saw in her vision, with Saitama asking her why she and her Association attacked his former hometown. But Psykos, due to her previous defeat by Fubuki, is mentally broken and unable to give a clear answer. However, the real reason why Fubuki has come after Psykos was because Fubuki's older sister, Tatsumaki is now coming after Psykos and wishes to kill her. Fortunately, Saitama protects Psykos when Tatsumaki and Fubuki are causing destruction throughout the Hero Association faculty. Psykos quickly becomes unconscious during the ruckus, along with the police Fubuki knocks out due to an emergency caused by Tatsumaki's sudden arrival. Fubuki keeps her sister busy at this time. As Tatsumaki stops her own madness, an unconscious Psykos is taken by Fubuki safely. After being unveiled as a human, Psykos weakens Tatsumaki as she lowers her defense in preparation for fighting the Dragon-level monsters. Psykos is then challenged by Fubuki and is defeated by the B-Class hero. Psychic Sisters Arc: Psykos is later seen in A-City's secret prison where the other imprisoned monsters are, being interrogated by Fubuki to answer why Psykos built Monster Association and what future does she see, with Saitama asking her why she and her Association attacked his former hometown, but Psykos, due to her previous defeat by Fubuki, is mentally broken and unable to give a clear answer. As Tatsumaki stops her own madness, an unconscious Psykos is taken by Fubuki safely. Neo Heroes Uprising Arc: Psykos is taken into Fubuki's mind room, where Fubuki has spent several hours every day telepathically connecting with Psykos. She is seen in a mental mindscape with grasslands and a cloudy sky, standing in front of Fubuki. Psykos explains that she failed, and that there is no forgiveness for her failure. When Fubuki asks Psykos who she is referring to, she replies that she doesn't know, greatly unsettling Fubuki. Abilities and Powers: As the second-highest-ranking member of the Monster Association, Psykos has great authority over almost everyone and oversees the organization's operations and activities, and as a Dragon-level threat, she is an extremely powerful being. She is shown to be very powerful as an Esper, but not very skilled. Garou has commented that she cannot perform more than one action at the same time when using telekinesis. After merging with Orochi, her psychic power increases exponentially, allowing her to contend with Tatsumaki and seriously harm the esper, although Tatsumaki reveals she was holding back because Tareo's safety wasn't secured. Supernatural Abilities • Psychokinesis: Psykos is a powerful esper who can send out psychic signals to her colleagues from over great distances, as well as remotely control Gyoro Gyoro from 1500 meters underground. After having her power amplified by her Elixir, Psykos could break free of Tatsumaki's restraints and drag her down from a large distance even as she was being dragged herself upwards. However, she was easily subdued when Tatsumaki took her more seriously. Her psychic output surpasses Fubuki but is inferior to Tatsumaki's. She was also able to immobilize Bang long enough for Homeless Emperor to attack him. • Energy Projection: Psykos can shoot powerful energy beams from her eyes. • Gravity Manipulation: While controlling Gyoro Gyoro, Psykos could manipulate gravity and use it to crush her enemies. • Spy Drones: Psykos created and controlled several spy drones shaped in the image of Gyoro Gyoro, and communicated through them. These spy drones could fly great distances with wings, or be planted as stationary viewpoints like security cameras. • Telepathy (テレパシー, Terepashī): Psykos uses telepathy to communicate with others. She uses this, as Gyoro Gyoro, to tell Garou to wait while sorting out disputes among the monsters. • Clairvoyance: Psykos can see into the future. This ability is called the Third Eye. Knowledge of a particular future she witnessed pushed her to the brink of madness and fueled her desire to destroy humanity for unknown reasons. Miscellaneous Abilities • Monster Transformation Stimulation: Psykos claims that she can stimulate growth in humans and turn some of them into exceptionally powerful monsters, like in the case of Orochi. Gyoro Gyoro's method is unknown in detail, but it can be assumed to be similar to the phenomenon of abnormal cellular reactions that normally transform some humans into monsters, without the Monster Cell. • Keen Intellect: Psykos is a highly intelligent individual with great authority within the Monster Association. She oversees the organization's operations and activities, and possesses the ability to analyze the powers of individuals. She is responsible for evaluating the threat level posed by members of the Monster Association, and unlike others who underestimated the Hero Hunter Garou, she recognized his exceptional potential upon encountering him again. Psykos can accurately predict which types of monsters should be sent to fight specific heroes, based on their battle compatibility. This allows her to arrange encounters that heavily favor the monsters, as demonstrated by the high-ranking heroes who struggled greatly against the executive members of the Monster Association due to her strategic arrangements. • Mental Resistance: Psykos possesses a degree of mental fortitude as she was able to resist full absorption and assimilation by Orochi during their fusion. During this process, she noted that Orochi was corrupting her mind. Fighting Style • Master Psychic Combatant: Psykos is a very powerful esper. However, she still has less experience and expertise than Fubuki and Tatsumaki, which is why she lost to Fubuki even though she had a greater psychic output. • Psychic Binding (念動金縛り, Nen-dō Kanashibari): An ability used to immobilize targets. • Super Gravity Waves (重力超激浪, Jūryoku Chōgekirō): Psykos multiplies the gravity around a certain area to crush her opponent. After merging with Orochi, her ability to multiply gravity increases to the point that even Tatsumaki struggles with the increased gravity. • Gravity Times 300 (重力300倍, Jūryoku 300-bai): Psykos increases the gravity of an area by 300 times. Equipment • Elixir: Psykos managed to create an elixir that increases her psychic power, which she consumes to fight against Tatsumaki. Fusion with Orochi: After barely surviving his battle with Saitama, Orochi uses his absorption ability to regenerate his body. He absorbs his master Psykos, but she resists complete assimilation, leading to their merging into a massive entity with numerous tentacles. During this fusion, they encounter "God", from whom they receive additional power. This fusion proves strong enough to battle Tatsumaki, pressuring her into taking the fight seriously. Their attacks escalate to devastating levels, capable of generating tsunamis across a portion of the planet's hemisphere. • Power Incorporation: This fusion can assimilate the powers of others. It continues to grow stronger by drawing energy from both others and the planet through tendrils anchored in the ground; Psykos believes they can ultimately merge with the Earth itself, becoming a perfect celestial life form. • Psychokinesis: Psykos' psychokinesis is significantly amplified by Orochi's power. When their barrier collides with Tatsumaki's, she is genuinely taken aback by its intensity. They can even usurp Tatsumaki's control over her barrier, turning it inside out and causing her power to backfire. Due to Psykos being fused to the Earth through her roots, her barrier only envelops the "main body." • Gravity Manipulation: This fusion possesses the ability to manipulate gravity. • Psychic Decoys: After witnessing Tatsumaki create a decoy body from rocks enveloped in psychic energy, the fusion can replicate this technique on a larger scale, generating multiple decoys that fly in various directions to fool the opponent. • Shapeshifting: This fusion can shapeshift its horns into an enormous avatar of Psykos. The avatar appears to lack an internal structure, and Tatsumaki refers to it as "unexpectedly hollow". Despite this, the avatar can split in half and reveal other types of shapes, such as a gigantic face of Psykos or a three-pronged "beak" that can unleash laser beams. • Tendril Generation: This fusion can extend its fingers into large spears that match the length of its main body.Metamorphosis: The dragons that Orochi previously created can be summoned again, now larger and more powerful. • Energy Projection: This fusion can unleash a widespread energy attack powerful enough to cut through the Earth's surface, lifting a disk of oceanic crust, seawater, and the sky above it before crashing back down. The energy blasts are powerful enough to easily overpower Genos' Thunder Drill Cannon, which is capable of destroying a huge meteor in a single shot. • Electricity Manipulation: Through its spears, this fusion can emit electric shocks strong enough to temporarily stun Tatsumaki and disrupt her control over her powers. • Regeneration: This fusion retains Orochi's regenerative abilities; after their body was severely damaged by Tatsumaki, it quickly healed from the injuries. • Smoke Generation: This fusion can expel large volumes of dense smoke to create cover for itself and hamper its opponent's senses. • Flight: The fusion is capable of flying at high speeds by shapeshifting itself into a jet. • Planetary Fusion: Through their union and subsequent empowerment by "God", Orochi in his fused form has the potential to corrupt, replace, and assimilate both living and non-biological matter through his cellular mass-based biology. This ability allows the amalgamation to spread out and consume the world, evolving into a mind capable of automating the entirety of the Earth, essentially becoming a living planet. Trivia • In all of her appearances, Psykos is seen wearing her glasses, and as even her psychic avatars wear them. It is unknown whether the glasses are of any use to her in that form. • The design of Psykos' fused form is based on a neuron. • Psykos' appearance is adorned with snake symbols. Her earrings and pin are in the form of a serpent eating its own tail, the ouroboros, which is a symbol of cycle and rebirth.
