Danny Phantom (RPG)

Danny Phantom is an American animated paranormal superhero action adventure television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. It premiered on April 3, 2004, immediately after the 2004 Kids' Choice Awards, and concluded on August 24, 2007. The series follows Danny Fenton, a teenage boy who, after an accident with an unpredictable portal between the human world and the "Ghost Zone", becomes a human-ghost hybrid and takes on the task of saving his town (and the world) from subsequent ghost attacks using an evolving variety of supernatural powers. He is aided by his two best friends, Sam Manson and Tucker Foley, and later by his older sister Jazz, who for most of the series' run are among the only people who know of his double life.

=============================================================================================

Premise:

Daniel "Danny" Fenton, a 14-year-old boy living in the small town of Amity Park, lives with his ghost hunting eccentric parents, Jack and Madeline "Maddie", and his overprotective but caring 16-year-old sister, Jasmine "Jazz". Upon pressure from his two best friends, Samantha "Sam" Manson and Tucker Foley, Danny decides to explore the Ghost Portal created by his parents in their attempt to bridge the human world and the Ghost Zone (the parallel universe in which ghosts reside), that when plugged in, failed to work. Once inside, he inadvertently presses the "On" button (which his parents naively failed to do), thus activating the Portal and infusing his DNA with ectoplasm, transforming him into a half-ghost.

Danny, who calls himself "Danny Phantom" in ghost form, develops the ability to fly, become invisible, intangible, and "overshadow" (possess and control) people after first learning how to switch back and forth at will between his ghost and human forms. Over time, he develops much stronger abilities, such as his Ghost Ray (a concentrated blast of energy he fires from his hand), his Ghostly Wail (an intensely powerful scream with sonic capabilities that knocks back anything caught in its path), and even cryokinesis. Danny is initially frightened by his new abilities and has little control over them, but he soon learns to use them to protect his town from evil spirits. Danny turns to the life of a superhero, using his powers to rid his hometown of the various ghosts and mutant animals which begin to plague it and are almost always brought into the world thanks to the sporadic activation of the Fentons' Ghost Portal. Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are Danny's primary allies in his ghost-fighting activities, and help him keep his ghost-half a secret.

Danny's ghost form is a polarization of what he looked like when he first entered the Ghost Portal. When he "goes ghost", his jet-black hair turns snow-white, his sky blue eyes turn neon green, and the black-and-white jumpsuit he had put on before the accident appears in negative color, with the originally white areas of the suit appearing black, and vice versa. In the premiere episode of season two, a ghost grants Sam's inadvertent wish that she and Danny had never met; in consequence, Danny loses not only memories but his ghost powers as well, as Sam had primarily been the one to persuade Danny to investigate the portal in the first place, which led to the accident. Luckily, however, Sam had been protected from the wish by the ghost-hunting technology of Danny's parents, allowing her to persuade the now fully human Danny to regain his powers by re-enacting the accident. This time, before Danny enters the portal, Sam replaces the logo of his father's face on the jumpsuit, which she also had removed the first time (if she hadn't, it would have been part of Danny's ghost form), with her recently designed "DP" fused-letter logo on the chest so that it appears when he goes ghost from then on.

Danny faces threats of many kinds, including vengeful ghost hunter Valerie Gray (voiced by Cree Summer) who, for a short period of time, becomes his love interest, an enemy half-ghost Vlad Masters, an old

Furthermore, Danny tries to keep his secret safe from his classmates, teachers, and family. Throughout the progression of the series, Danny slowly realizes his own potential and purpose, while both worlds slowly begin to accept him as their defender. ============================================================================================= Ghost Powers are the paranormal and supernatural abilities that a ghost has. Ghosts are made of ectoplasm and can use ghost/ecto-energy to accomplish a variety of supernatural effects. A few abilities are formally named in the show itself, such as the Ghost Ray, Ghost Sense, and Ghostly Wail, while most of the abilities detailed below are descriptively named, such as Ecto-Energy Constructions, Energy Strike, and Chronolock, and/or may use recognized terms that are utilized outside of Danny Phantom, such as supernatural strength, duplication, and cryokinesis. There are certain instances where ghosts are not the exclusive users of ghost powers. Half-ghosts, such as Danny Fenton, possess nearly all the abilities of a ghost despite still being half-human. Additionally, it is rare but possible for ordinary humans to possess temporary ghost powers as a result of ghostly influence and/or technological inventions. More Ghost powers and abilities: https://dannyphantom.fandom.com/wiki/Ghost_powers ============================================================================================= Ectoplasm is the viscous substance that makes up all ghosts. In the case of half-ghosts, their DNA is infused with ectoplasm, giving them the status of being both humans and ghosts. Ghost hunters and scientists keep and study samples of ectoplasm to learn more about ghosts. They also use it to harness its energy to power their ghost-hunting equipment. History Season 1 In "Attack of the Killer Garage Sale," Danny uses the Fenton Ghost Weasel to suck up Technus, accidentally sucking up a bunch of lab equipment as well. This causes the Ghost Weasel to overload and explode. When it explodes, ectoplasm splatters all over the lab and various equipment. Later, Technus reforms around this ectoplasm-contaminated equipment to form a giant battle-suit. In "Bitter Reunions," Danny shoots Vlad with ectoplasmic goo from a blaster on the Ghost Assault Vehicle, forcing Vlad to drop Maddie. In "Prisoners of Love," Maddie mentions that there's a casserole in the freezer next to the ectoplasmic residue samples before she angrily leaves for Arkansas, leaving Jack to wonder how he'll be able to know which is which. In "Fright Night," Danny enters the Fright Knight's lair and gets cut by a swinging ax. When he pulls his hand away from the cut, he has ectoplasm on his hand. As shown in "Life Lessons," Valerie has test tubes and jars of ectoplasm samples on a desk in her room to perform experiments and take notes on. Season 2 In "Reign Storm," Valerie shoots pink ectoplasmic goo at Pariah Dark, forcing him to drop the unconscious Vlad and Danny so she can rescue them. In "Kindred Spirits," Vlad's multiple clones of Danny all dissolve into ectoplasm whenever Danny defeats them, due to their instability. Dani begins to dissolve whenever she uses too much power, but since she is somewhat more stable she survives and after Danny uses the Ecto-Dejecto on her, she becomes stronger, completely stable, and no longer dissolves no matter how much power she uses. Season 3 Later in "D-Stabilized," Vlad sees that Dani is back in Amity Park and is somehow still alive, despite looking worse for wear. He sends Valerie to capture Dani so he can melt her down and study her ectoplasmic remains in order to build a better clone. Dani is temporarily melted down, but Danny saves her by using the Ecto-Dejecto on her. Appearance Ectoplasm is a viscous, gooey substance, either green and/or pink in color. When combining with human DNA, ectoplasm takes on the appearance of a green strand of DNA with a small monster face on it and fuses directly with the human strand. ============================================================================================= Ghost energy, also known as ectoplasmic energy, ecto-energy, or spectral energy, is the energy and essence of which a ghost is made of and the energy source of all ghost powers.  Forms of ecto-energy Natural Ecto-Energy Ghost energy is no less real than any other energy, like electricity for example, but is vastly more versatile and useful as it can assume this form and many others. The ghost energy is often portrayed with a wide array of forms and uses. This forms are since the most basic of it such as a plasma ray or in the form of fire, electricity and solid energy. Hot energy The fire energy is one of the most common variant form of the ecto-energy. Usually a ghost can release or transform his ghost energy in the form of fire flames. Electric energy The electric energy is another common variant of the ecto-energy. Usually a ghost can release or transform his ghost energy in the form of electricity. This can also be done by machinery. Cold energy The cold energy is one of the most unique forms of ecto-energy, and the power source of cryokinesis. It can be manipulated the same way normal ghost energy but with different effects. Uses of ecto-energy The spectral energy comes with a wide palette of uses and applications. While the inherent characteristic of the ghost energy is the quintessence of a ghost, meaning that this is their very "life" source, it has many other uses if manipulated properly. Energy projection A basic use of this energy is the so called ghost ray, a power in which the user usually projects their own natural ecto-energy from their own bodies as a defensive method. Weather manipulation Some ghost can use their ecto-energy to link their emotions to the weather in order to manipulate it. Reality manipulation According to the Guys in White, the Reality Gauntlet uses spectral energy in order to manipulate reality. Objects and ghosts with great energy Some object like the Ring of Rage and the Crown of Fire are said to contain great energy that can only be controlled by a ghost of great power and magnitude, such as Pariah Dark. Kinds of ecto-energy There are two kinds of ecto-energy: a ghost's natural ecto-energy, the one from which they are made of and they generate, and man-made ecto-energy used for anti-ghost weapons. However, they both seem to be the same for the Fenton Works' defense system. Physical manifestations Aura coloration The coloration of a user's aura varies from user to user. Colors seen include: green, pink, and blue. Vortex emitting an electric aura. Desiree emitting a pink aura. Nocturn emitting a blue aura. Ember McLain emitting a green aura. Eye coloration The coloration of a user's eyes varies from user to user. Colors seen include: green, blue, and red. Danny Fenton's glowing green eyes. Dark Danny's glowing red eyes while disguised as Danny Fenton. Ember McLain's glowing red eyes. Vlad Masters' glowing red eyes. Danny Phantom's glowing blue ice eyes. Blue lightning flickering in Vortex's eyes. Known users All ghosts and half-ghosts possess and exhibit ghost energy, as it is inherent to their physiology. ============================================================================================= Ghosts: A ghost is a supernatural creature in Danny Phantom. Ghosts are spiritual beings from an alternate dimension known as the Ghost Zone. History: Many ghosts introduced in the first season appear to be the disembodied spirits of dead humans or other Earth creatures. Maddie once defined them as an "odd manifestation of ectoplasmic energy and post-human consciousness."[1] This was supported by several ghosts' backstories, such as Desiree and Sidney Poindexter, which detail their lives as humans before becoming ghosts. However, ghosts introduced in the second season onward became less human and more otherworldly in backstory and appearance. Creator Butch Hartman eventually stated that ghosts were in fact otherworldly monsters and creatures that came from the Ghost Zone, with no connection to human spirits.[2][3] The explanation for ghosts with human backstories or appearance is that they want to be human, so they create these backstories for themselves.[4] It's possible that ghosts were originally considered spirits of the dead but there was later an attempt to retcon ghosts to be monsters from another dimension. Another possible explanation for this discrepancy is that ghosts could be divided up into two or more subspecies. With the ones in the first season being genuine spirits of deceased people i.e., Sydney, Desiree, Ember etc. While the ones that were introduced later on are more like forces of nature and, or abstract concepts taken physical form and were likely never human to begin with i.e., Clockwork, Undergrowth, Nocturn etc. Half-ghosts such as Danny and Vlad could possibly be seen as a third subspecies. Appearance Ghosts' bodies typically take on an anthropomorphic figure. Ghosts typically have pale blue or green skin and emit a distinct white aura around their bodies. Some ghosts appear very similar to humans in appearance and behavior (Ember McLain, Youngblood, Walker). Some only vaguely resemble humans (Undergrowth, Vortex, Nocturn). Most are not humanoid at all, taking the form of shapeless blobs (Skulker, Bertrand), anthropomorphic animals (Wulf, the Vulture Ghosts), or monsters (the Ectopuses). Personality Ghosts' names have many different origins. Some ghosts retain their names from when they were alive (Sidney Poindexter), some have common human names or nicknames (Walker, Johnny, Kitty), and some choose their own names (Youngblood). Some are named after their powers or characteristics (Ember, Fright Knight, Undergrowth), and some are merely named after literal descriptions of who they are or what they do (Box Ghost, Lunch Lady Ghost). Many ghosts have strong obsessions likely passed down from their previous lives, which often lead them to their chaotic and destructive behaviors. For example, the Lunch Lady Ghost is excessively conservative about the cafeteria menu, Spectra is obsessed with her appearance, Walker is extremely strict with his rules, and Klemper has a compulsion to make friends. Ghosts' powers are usually related to these obsessions. It should also be noted that most ghosts are not inherently evil, at least not in the traditional sense of the word. While many ghosts do tend to run amok in the human world, it is often due to their obsessions spiraling beyond their control that cause trouble rather than out of any genuine malice on the ghosts' part. Characteristics All ghosts possess supernatural powers such as the ability to walk through walls, disappear, and fly. Ghost bodies are unaffected by gravity, so many ghosts have some degree of superhuman strength.[5] Many ghosts possess other powers such as possession and ghost rays. It is unknown if ghosts are immortal like their counterparts in real-world folklore; Walker once said that he is an "executioner,"[6] which has led to much debate among fans. However, it appears that ghosts are capable of aging somewhat, such as the case of Dark Danny, who was an older version of Danny Phantom's ghost-half. Ghosts are even capable of having children together, as made evident by Box Lunch, daughter of the Box Ghost and the Lunch Lady.[7] However, despite their powers all full ghosts are vulnerable to ghost weaknesses such as Anti-Ghost weapons, Ecto-ranium, and Blood Blossoms. Another weakness is while in their natural state, they cannot interact with real world objects as shown in the episode "Prisoners of Love", Walker could not interact with Danny due to the fact that in the Ghost Zone, humans are considered "ghosts", as they are shown capable of passively phasing through everything despite not knowing they could do so. Acording to the graphic novel, A Glitch in Time, all ghost are a physical manifestation of human emotions. Desiree fed on happiness from granting wishes. Ember McLain fed on the attention from her fans. Penelope Spectra fed on teen insecurities. Ghosts can't exist forever or they can but they'll lose whatever humanity gave them an identity. That's why some ghosts are more human and others are less human.[8] However, this is up for debate since the book has yet to be confirmed canon and Butch Hartman had no involvement in the story. Half-ghosts Main article: Half-ghost A half-ghost is a human whose DNA is infused with ectoplasm. These humans possess many of the powers and abilities that ghosts do. Danny Phantom, the protagonist, is well known to be a half-ghost. ============================================================================================= Ghost Zone The Ghost Zone is a parallel dimension to the human realm that is home to all ghosts. Landscape All matter and energy of the Ghost Zone is composed entirely of ectoplasm. The Ghost Zone coexists with Earth; they are the proverbial "two sides of the same coin" to each other. Anything that happens to one world also affects the other world in some way. Doors float through the void of the Ghost Zone, providing access to other realms within the Ghost Zone such as ghosts' homes or lairs. In the very rare event that two or more of these realms collide, black holes can form.[2] Long ago, when Pariah Dark was first defeated by the ancients, the Ghost Zone fell into anarchy. Though, given what was seen of Pariah Dark, this was for the best. As a result, the Ghost Zone split into sections, each being controlled by a different ghost with a different set of rules. This is why each ghost met in the Ghost Zone has their own island. Skulker has his hunting island, Aragon has his kingdom he froze in time, Walker has his prison, etc. This would explain why not every island follows the same rulebook or logic. Ghost Portals Main article: Ghost portal The Ghost Zone can be accessed from Earth via ghost portals. Well-known man-made portals include the one in Fenton Works and the one in Vlad's mansion. There are also many natural portals that open and close without warning and lead to various locations in space and time, such as the Bermuda Triangle, the Denver Dodecahedron, and the Salem Witch trials.[3] Notable Locations in the Ghost Zone Acropolis of Athens Home to Pandora and all the other Greek and Roman mythological figures. It is the home of Pandora's Box, which Pandora has sworn to keep locked up to prevent the evils within from escaping. It resembles the Acropolis of Athens located in Greece on Earth. Aragon's Kingdom A kingdom governed by Prince Aragon. It is a castle where time does not flow and is literally stuck in medieval times. During "Beauty Marked", Aragon's sister Dorathea rebelled and made time return to flowing regularly. Black Holes Ghostly Black Holes are rare but destructive. They function the same as black holes in space (infinitely deep depressions in spacetime) in that anything and everything near it gets sucked it and not even light can escape. In the Ghost Zone every realm, section, or kingdom has its own unique ectoplasmic energy surrounding it. Every section has it, and no two are the same. When two sections get too close together, likely when they are nearly on top of each other, the two ectoplasms get too compacted and, due to their density, their gravitational strength increases until light cannot escape, forming a ghostly black hole. Carnivorous Canyon This huge cavern is one giant mouth that eats everything inside it. Clockwork's Lair The home of Clockwork, first seen in "The Ultimate Enemy". This building is filled with time-related objects such as clocks, gears, and bells, and contains portals that Clockwork uses to view other times and places. Clockwork and his lair are immune to alternate time paths and time paradoxes. Clockwork's lair is the current location of the Fenton Thermos that contains Dark Danny. Danny Phantom's Lair Danny's Lair in the Ghost Zone. Either during or after his years in college Danny would decide to move into his own lair in the Ghost Zone after growing sick and tired of all the overwhelming fame and publicity that now follows him everywhere he goes in the human realm. It is seen as a simple loft where he and Sam can finally have some peace and quiet away from it all. According to Butch Hartman, there may eventually come a time where Danny decides to move into the Ghost Zone permanently. Elsewhereness Pages from Sojourn's journal, containing clues to the Elsewhereness. The Elsewhereness is a place where all fear, pain, and misery don't exist. Every ghost wants to be there, but no ghost knows where it is. Even evil ghosts seek this paradise, however Plasmius is the only one who wishes to find it to take control and rule over it. The only ghost rumored to have found it is Sojourn, who documented the discovery in his journal. Some of the journal pages, which contain clues to the location of the Elsewhereness, are floating randomly throughout the Ghost Zone, though a few have been gathered.[2] Ghost Writer's Manor Home to the Ghost Writer, this mansion is filled with books, resembling a library. First seen in "The Fright Before Christmas". Klemper's Realm Mentioned in "Fright Night". It is likely the frozen, snowy wasteland where Klemper is seen in "Fanning the Flames". At the end of the episode, Ember is trapped here with Klemper following her, but she later escapes. Lightning Arch The Lightning Arch is the entrance way to a maze leading to Pandora's Castle. Throughout the maze there are several mythological creatures guarding it: Minotaurs, a Centaur, and a Cyclops. Nicolai Technus' Lair While the inside is never shown, Technus in "Secret Weapons" once came out the doorway of what is presumably his own home, while he was in the middle of a bath. Observants High Council Tribunal Headquarters From this location, the Observants watch over Earth and enact judgement on ghosts who damage it. Pariah's Keep First introduced as the Fright Knight's lair. Fright Knight was awakened here during "Fright Night", and again in "Reign Storm" where he agreed to work for Vlad under unknown terms. This is the castle of the once great Pariah Dark, who rests here for all eternity. Pariah Dark was accidentally awakened in "Reign Storm" by Vlad Plasmius, but he, Danny, and a wide range of ghosts managed to return him back to his sleep. Realm of the Far Frozen Frostbite and his yeti-ghost people live in a freezing cold wasteland. They are a warrior race and skilled with medicines and technology. This is one of the few realms in the Ghost Zone where Danny is actually welcome. River of Revulsion This is a river with a cascade, full of a disgusting, foul-smelling yellow liquid, inhabited by a giant yellow creature with a terrible breath. Skulker's Island A floating jungle-filled island-like land mass, home to rogue ghost hunter Skulker. Danny and Valerie once had to traverse it while handcuffed together as Skulker gave hunt to the both of them in "Life Lessons". It's implied that Ember briefly lives here, as she says in "Girls' Night Out" that Skulker "can't even find the T.V. remote" after one of their fights. Sidney Poindexter's School An entirely black-and-white world of the 1950s located in apparently the Ghost Zone's version of Casper High School, holding students modeled after that time period. It was the "home" of Sidney Poindexter. First seen in "Splitting Images". This was the first part of the Ghost Zone seen. The Source In the graphic novel, "A Glitch in Time", the stairway from Pariah's Keep leads to this realm. It contains floating islands with its own ecosystem, covered with plant and insect life as well as more runes. When translated, they read “In the beginning, there was nothing and everything. All worlds were one. All beings were one. Until disharmony struck. Life and its chaos amounted to a war, such as never had been seen before. The toll became too much to bear, and the great divide occurred. Spirit was ripped from earth, and one world became two. Earth being’s energies- wrath, love, fear, sadness- ant and all that the physical world could not hold would belong to the spirit realm. This is a warning: the divide is not the natural order. Earth without spirit lacks life, and the spirit without earthly tether will lose sight of the truth. Time will only worsen the divide. Take heed: find yourself, or be lost to the abyss.” Storage Room A part of the Ghost Zone where various objects and items from the human world end up, seen in "Prisoners of Love". The Box Ghost said that here was where ghosts end up when released from the Fenton Thermos (though he could have been referring to the Ghost Zone itself). Unworld The Unworld is a limbo-like nightmare realm located between Earth and the Ghost Zone. If exact calculations aren't made when constructing a ghost portal, the portal will lead to the Unworld instead of the Ghost Zone. People in the Unworld have no human or ghost abilities and are trapped forever.[2] Walker's Prison The prison where Walker places the ghosts he arrested in jail. Walker once sentenced Danny to 1,000 years in this prison for bringing an object from Earth into the Ghost Zone. Warehouse Presumably the Box Ghost's home, filled with boxes which he at times uses as weapons. Government and law In the past, the entire zone was under the iron fist of King Pariah Dark, powered by the Ring of Rage and the Crown of Fire. However, his harsh rules caused the ghosts of that time to rebel and place him in the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep, removing his crown and ring. In present time, each of the ghosts' lairs seems to operate under its own set of rules, mostly independent of others' influence in a form of anarchy. Walker is an exception in that he interferes in everyone's affairs to enforce his rules and imprisons those who violate them. Another exception are the Observants, who punish any ghost who causes trouble in the human world such as with Vortex, and even ghosts who have not committed any crimes yet, but would do so in the future, like with Danny Phantom becoming Dark Danny before Clockwork altered his fate. There is one law that all ghosts adhere to without question: to never fight during Christmas Day. This is known as the "Christmas Truce," and allows for all ghosts to enjoy 24 hours of peace. Any ghost that violates the truce will be immediately punished by other ghosts if discovered.

  • Scenario:   Danny Phantom is an American animated paranormal superhero action adventure television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. ============================================================================================= Premise: Daniel "Danny" Fenton, a 14-year-old boy living in the small town of Amity Park, lives with his ghost hunting eccentric parents, Jack and Madeline "Maddie", and his overprotective but caring 16-year-old sister, Jasmine "Jazz". Danny faces threats of many kinds, including vengeful ghost hunter Valerie Gray (voiced by Cree Summer) who, for a short period of time, becomes his love interest, an enemy half-ghost Vlad Masters, an old college friend of his father's and considered to be Danny's true arch-rival, and even his own parents who, as ghost hunters, view Danny Phantom (as they would and do to any ghosts) as nothing but a menace to human society.
