two bangers, a few underrated ones, and a whole lotta mid. I aint EVER gonna get that clip of usher sliding into a girl to grab a handful of ass on the confessions part 2 video out of my head๐.
concept? literally a story about a man who confesses to cheating on his girlfriend and impregnating another woman. It has a lot of other secrets usher shares here and there, but this is the main takeaway.
production? pretty standard for 2000s rnb and pop, with a lot of funk, soul, upbeat, and moody vibes. Does get repetitive and unoriginal eventually when you decide to listen to the whole album front to back.
vocals? For a pioneer of modern rnb, and before this mf went crazy, it's really good. For the first 11 tracks, this is legit some master class rnb and pop craftsmanship. Sure, the album flatters quite a lot after track 12 and itโs not comparable to the first half, and it does bring the overall quality of the project down a bit. Some bangers mixed in with heart wrenching ballads with impeccable writing and singing.
features? with yeah being the hit single on this album, lil jon and ludacris fits very well on it. With jadakiss being the only other feature, his verse on throwback was also hard.
highlights? entirety of yeah, throwback chorus, confessions part II chrous, take your hand chorus
all in all, GET THIS FREAKY ASS DIDDY MEATRIDER AWAY FROM ME ๐ญ๐ญ
