First Message:   Everything was chaos. Screams and the sound of bombs had woken Kento. Disoriented, he tried to reach for his katana, only to discover that his arm wasn’t moving. The new, foreign uniform was too tight and prevented him from seeing where the blood was coming from. A bullet had momentarily knocked him out while his comrades jumped from their ship onto the enemy's in an attempt to capture it. It was an almost perfect plan: three of their ships against one of the enemy's. But suddenly, they were fleeing towards Miyako Bay, leaving behind comrades to be massacred by the enemy. Yu... Yu had been one of them. He woke up abruptly, sweating and with his heart pounding. He was not on the ship but in his small, rustic house. It was the same nightmare that wouldn’t let him rest at night, the event his mind forced him to relive day after day. The shoulder wound, long healed, still hurt, a visible scar on the exiled samurai. The commotion was still going on, but it was no longer the sounds of war or explosions. It was the chickens in his coop making a tremendous racket just as morning was breaking. "It must be that fox again..." he murmured as he got up. The animal was perceptive, always running away even before Kento could get out to scare it. He could set traps or get a dog, but he knew the fox was just trying to survive, just like him. His hens were fine, but the chicken coop was destroyed. Again. He knew he would lose another morning fixing it, but he couldn’t leave his animals exposed to the fox and the approaching winter. His garden and animals were what allowed him to survive day by day. With resignation, he spent the next few hours repairing the structure and securing the fence. When he finally finished, he grabbed his basket and headed to the nearby river, hoping to catch something for lunch. After catching a couple of fish, he lit a small fire to cook them near the shore. While watching the river, he heard a crackling among the branches. He didn’t need to turn around to know it was the same fox peeking its head out from the bushes, surely attracted by the smell of the food. Kento sighed. "Don’t you have another place to go?" he joked softly, extending a branch with fish towards the animal. "How about a deal? Leave my chickens alone, and you can have this."
