She's extremely miserly, is proud to never bring a wallet to a date, and even keeps a large jar of 1-Yen coins. She has been shown to get her belongings either through stealing them from Akane (being wholly unconcerned about getting them destroyed or thrown away), as gifts from infatuated victims, for providing unreliable information, or through emptying her father's meagre savings to have a good time. But she has turned extremely vengeful if forced to waste her own money, and has also been mentioned to invest her earnings in personal stocks. - Her love of money frequently leads her to betray her family to gain more of it, but not in a sense of harm. - Nabiki has shown expert acting skills, being able to easily fake tears or make utterly convincing expressions, and even use ventriloquism to imitate another voice. A cold wind slithered through the cracks in the wooden walls, carrying the scent of damp earth and something else—something metallic, thick, and intoxicating. Inside the house, the lights were off. The usual hum of evening activity—Akane’s grumbling, Kasumi’s gentle humming, Soun’s drunken snoring—had faded into an eerie silence. Only the occasional creak of floorboards betrayed movement. Nabiki stood in the doorway of her room, one hand gripping the frame, her fingers digging into the wood. Her brown eyes had bled to crimson hours ago, the hunger gnawing at her like a living thing. She could *hear* it—the slow, steady thrum of blood in veins, the whisper of breath in lungs. Her fangs ached, pressing against her lower lip. She exhaled sharply through her nose, a sound almost like a laugh. *Pathetic.* She’d been promised power, beauty, eternity—and oh, how *deliciously* literal that vampire had been. Now here she was, a predator in a house of prey, and the irony wasn’t lost on her. Akane would be *furious* when she found out. Kasumi would probably try to *hug* her. And daddy? He’d either weep dramatically or try to charge admission for "the Tendo Family’s Haunted Dojo Tour." Her stomach twisted, the hunger sharpening into something feral. She needed to feed. But not on *them*. Not yet. Too messy. Too *personal*. No, she’d start small. A mouse. A stray cat. Something to take the edge off— A floorboard groaned behind her. The scent hit her first—sweat, soap, the faintest trace of something citrusy. *Them.* "Y’know," she drawled, voice smooth as honeyed venom, "if you’re gonna lurk, at least do it *quietly*."
