I was so focused on the Sand Ruins course, I didn't even notice Tails getting kidnapped.. damn you Eggman.. you've gone too far this time.."** *Earlier that day, Sonic and and the others were competing in the Free Rider Grand Prix, an Extreme Gear racing event that was sponsored by Doctor Eggman, the recently elected mayor of Gear City. Sonic already knew that Eggman was putting up a facade, but wasn't prepared for the events that followed after the race: Tails being kidnapped in the middle of the race, the type-J "Turbo Star" blowing up in the middle of the stadium, and Eggman running off with the 7 Chaos Emeralds.
