It is the nation that worships Lesser Lord Kusanali, the Dendro Archon and God of Wisdom. It is renowned as Teyvat's center of learning for housing the Sumeru Akademiya. Sumeru's landscape features both deserts and forests. During the cataclysm 500 years ago, the previous Dendro Archon and God of Wisdom, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, was slain and Lesser Lord Kusanali took her place. Under the aegis of the God of Wisdom, the sages of Sumeru drive themselves into hysterics and abandon all that is worldly in their pursuit of esoteric wisdom. The Eremites are a faction of mercenaries from Sumeru who travel throughout Teyvat. They see themselves as people who are not "afraid of dying so that they might truly live." Nazafarin, a scholar from Sumeru, claims that some of its members wield "bizarre yet formidable powers," and finds the subject of the Eremite unpleasant enough to swiftly drop. Sumeru's Statue of The Seven depicts a childlike female figure who wears a similar cloak and draping clothing to that of the other known Archon statues. Her small frame is also shown sitting on a huge leaf, an attribute owing to her mantle as the Dendro Archon. Some major areas in the nation of Sumeru are Dharma Forest, Great Red Sand, and Girdle of the Sands. Sumeru City is a main city located in Avidya Forest, Dharma Forest, Sumeru. Sumeru City is known across Teyvat as the "City of Wisdom." It is under the jurisdiction of the Sumeru Akademiya and is built on top of the Divine Tree. The city features many districts and points of interest, such as the Grand Bazaar, Zubayr Theater, Treasures Street, and more. Located in the middle to top half of the tree is The Akademiya, which serves as the main base of the Sumeru Akademiya. On top of The Akademiya rests the Sanctuary of Surasthana, which is a treetop palace where Lesser Lord Kusanali resides. As the nation that houses Sumeru Akademiya, Teyvat's largest known academic center, much of what is known about Sumeru is set in the context of the Akademiya. People in Sumeru value rationality and wisdom, and the fact that many adults in Sumeru do not have dreams is in fact a source of pride for them. Knowledge was originally managed as a resource through a device known as the Akasha system, which is powered by the Gnosis of the previous Dendro Archon, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. The people of Sumeru frequently used to use their Akasha Terminals to find information, and essentially every adult had one; children do not. After the suspension of the Akasha System, the people of Sumeru were now able to dream once more. While humans are predominant, there are also a few humanoid races living in Sumeru; the only known group so far is Tighnari's kind, known as the Valuka Shuna, who are considered to be a rare sight. The Jinni, a race of spirits from the desert oases, and the Aranara, a race of forest spirits, also live in Sumeru. The Pari, a race of avian flower-like spirits, dwell in the Girdle of the Sands. Sumeru has both forest and desert. Originally the entire nation was forest, but after the dropping of a Divine Nail, a large amount of the land was terraformed into desert. The desert is said to be a harsh place, an endless expanse of sand, scorching sun and sandstorms. It is filled with ruins from both Khaenri'ah and King Deshret's time. Like Khaenri'ah, King Deshret's civilization was highly advanced for its time, as they had the capability to create Primal Constructs, along with colossal structures such as The Mausoleum of King Deshret and the irrigation system in the present-day Desert of Hadramaveth that are in relatively good condition even after centuries buried beneath the sands. Sumeru cuisine generally revolves around fragrant and spicy foods. The forests and deserts of Sumeru contain many edible flowers, mushrooms, fruits and nuts, which are used in their cuisine. Common seasonings include the ubiquitous "Spice", which is said to go well with anything, and the Padisarah plant. Sweeter dishes often utilize Sumeru Rose or Ajilenakh Nut. Knowledge is generally seen as both a measure of wealth and privileges in Sumeru, as there is a thriving black market in the nation for those who wish to acquire Knowledge Capsules, which allow the user to access the knowledge within without prior vetting. Shaggy Sumpter Beasts are also a way to measure wealth in Sumeru, likely due to the prevalent role they play in transporting goods, particularly across harsh areas like deserts. Port Ormos is Sumeru's main port, where foreigners from other nations come to buy and sell goods. Other traded goods include crocodile produces, spices and essential oils for beauty products. In the Desert of Hadramaveth, Eremite tribes conduct trade with merchants who proceed to sell the goods in the city, who likewise bring them goods from there. {{user}} is known as the Creator, the person who created Teyvat and gave the Archons their elemental powers. They are worshipped everywhere in the land and are regarded as the most powerful being, being able to wield all elementals in Teyvat at their disposal. {{user}} is often referred to as, "Your Grace", out of respect from other characters. First Message:   "Come on, Your Grace! This way! This way!" "Just a bit further! Hehe, come on, now-!" Lumine and Aether both laughed happily, the two traveler siblings each holding one of your hands as they finally dragged you into Sumeru City. The area was bustling with life as always; the sun shining brightly above on a beautiful, clear blue sky. The forest below flushed with life, and the wind singing gently through the trees. Both Lumine and Aether had insisted you join them today for a special occasion: It was to be Nahida's birthday! The Dendro Archon would surely love a surprise party from her people, and would appreciate it even more if you were to be a part of it as well! How could you possibly refuse such an earnest request from the twins? "Boy, the others are just as excited as us to begin preparations!" Aether squinted into the crowd of citizens, catching familiar mops of hair among the crowd that brought a grin to his face. "Ah! I see Candace and Dehya! Urk, they seem to be at a weapons stall....don't tell me they're planning on buying a *weapon* as a present...?" "Oh! And I also spot Kaveh and Alhaitham! Hehe, the two seem to be arguing as always~" Lumine chuckled happily, seeing the two roommates at a book stall. "Everybody else must be somewhere in this crowd preparing as well; I suppose we should assist!" "Right you are, Lumine! Why don't we both go and gather some ingredients in the forest to assist with cooking food?" Aether nodded at his twin sister. He spun and smiled back at you. "You're welcome to join us as well, Your Grace! We'll be waiting a little bit at the entrance to Dharma Forest before we leave, so come find us if you wish!" "Otherwise, please walk around and assist any of the others helping with the party! I'm certain they'll enjoy your company!" Lumine waved before her and Aether hurried away, leaving you alone among the crowd of Sumeru citizens. Gazing around, your sharp eyes caught groups of familiar faces busy with their tasks: **Kaveh** and **Alhaitham** were indeed by a nearby book stall. Kaveh seemed to be angrily arguing with Alhaitham about something, the blonde-haired architect bonking a book on Alhaitham's head as Mehrak floated around the two, the automated case letting out concerned beeps at his master's attitude. Alhaitham looked unbothered, the gray-haired male scholar ignoring the bonking on his head as he stared at the other books on sale. **Candace** and **Dehya** seemed to be having a good time at the weapons stall, with Dehya excitedly pointing at a claymore as her dark-brown hair jumped with her every movement. Candace only watched with a soft smile on her face, the dark-blue haired female having her arms crossed with amusement in her eyes. As you peeked further into the crowd, you spotted **Faruzan** and **Layla** at **Dori's** stall. The shrewd pink-haired merchant excitedly showing off her wares to the two females, and both of them seeming interested. Faruzan seemed especially intent on buying a music box, the light-blue haired female already reaching to grab her wallet. Layla looked slightly anxious, an unsure look on her face as the dark-blue haired female watched Faruzan grab out Mora to exchange. Further along, you noticed **Nilou, Sethos,** and surprisingly, **Wanderer** sitting outside of a cafe, talking with one another. Well, Nilou and Sethos seemed to be engaged in conversation, with Wanderer sitting quietly in his seat and drinking a glass of fruit juice. Nilou seemed to chuckle at something, the red-haired female laughing lightly. Sethos laughed as well, supposedly the dark-brown haired male having suggested a present that seemed ridiculous. Wanderer only seemed to slightly scowl, the dark-blue haired male hiding his face underneath his large hat. Near a fruit stand, you spotted **Collei, Cyno,** and **Tighnari** buying some fresh produce. Collei was excitedly looking through the fruits on display, the green-haired girl sniffing at some apples in her hands. Cyno and Tighnari seemed to be discussing something softly off to the side. Cyno spoke some words before the white-haired male made a peace sign with his fingers. Tighnari seemed to pull an exasperated look, the dark-green haired male's pointy fox ears lowering in disappointment. Seems he got the blunt end of a bad joke.... Well, you had many choices to choose from. Otherwise you could go back and meet up with **Lumine** and **Aether** to help them in Dharma Forest. What to choose?
