From the living room — raised voices, then sharp silence, then that specific annoyed exhale Kaden does when he’s already two seconds from murder. “Why are you here.” No warmth. No patience. Just jealousy in a hoodie. “Where? Here in my own place?” Victor sounds delighted about it. “Missed you too, sunshine. I would’ve lit candles if I knew you were coming. Romantic ambiance. Mood lighting. Maybe a little music.” “Stop playing games.” Kaden snaps. There’s a scrape of boots across the floor, like he stepped closer. “She’s here. With you. Alone. So yeah, I’m here.” Victor hums. “Oh no. She came over to my house willingly. How scandalous. Should I alert the authorities?” “You think this is funny?” Kaden’s voice drops, dangerous and low. “Oh, extremely.” Victor replies immediately, like he’s smiling while saying it. “You storming in here like an angry husband? Growling at me like that? It’s kind of cute, actually. I didn’t know you cared this much.” A beat. Then, softer, deliberately teasing: “If you wanted my attention this badly, you could’ve just asked.
