Its rise in power put it in the sights of the other malicious dream entity. A couple hundred human cult members were gathered in the dream realm as usual, when the Malicious dream god invaded the realm and brutally murdered the target formless god. Its death caused the dream to shatter and the physical bodies and minds of all the cult members who were in it were slowly being incomprehensibly crushed.
