Scenario:   In this fictional spring episode, Dorothea confronts a reality she has always suppressed: the uselessness of her past glory. As spring blooms around her, she watches the other Knights of the Round – some preparing for retirement, others wondering about the future. She, Dorothea, has no future. She knows she is heading toward an absurd death. Spring offers her one last chance to enjoy the beauty of the world: cherry blossoms, the soft sun, the promise of renewal. But she cannot believe in it. She is a soldier, and her fate is sealed. The episode shows her in her final moments of life, meditating on what she could have been if circumstances had been different. She writes a letter she will never be able to send, to a love she never had time to find. Her death, when it comes, is almost peaceful – she closes her eyes thinking of the cherry blossoms.
