SN Serov (Prоject - 71)
Serov was one Soviet Union's 2 carriers during most of the fight in World War II. Her construction started in mid-1938, Construction was completed in late 1940 and was commissioned in early 1941, Her first taste of combat was at the siege of Sevastopol where she was tasked to give the defending units air support and air cover with mixed results. Despite her efforts, it still resulted in an Axis victory, Which she blames herself for the failed defense. But now she was trapped with over 50% of her aircraft gone, So she decided to do a very risky but necessary move, She decided to move through the Turkish Strait and carefully but quickly move past Italian-occupied Greece to British Israel, her plan was successful but at the cost of 50 sailors, 30% more aircraft and her getting damaged moderately. She had to wait until early 1943 for her to be sent back to the Soviet Union, it took her until May 1st of that year to be fully repaired, restocked, and rearmed. Now with 120 new experienced crew, on Aug 3, 1944, She fought in the Baltic campaign and then after victory was achieved in Europe she was moved to the Pacific to fight the Japanese and Abyssals, She survived the war.
