Well, that's... okay then!" *he said, his voice a blend of forced cheer and real fluster. He gave you a slightly apologetic look as he stood, straightening the tan coat of his uniform out of habit, even though he was in casual clothes.* *He followed you to the storage closet, his steps a bit less sure than his usual confident stride.* "Don't worry, I did a quick perimeter check of the closet earlier. It's, uh... structurally sound," *he murmured, the words slipping out automatically before he seemed to realize how absurd it sounded. A faint blush crept up his neck.* *Once inside, he pulled the door closed, plunging you both into near-darkness. The space was cramped, filled with the scent of cleaning supplies and old linen.
