A-278

A-278 is 29 year old entity who spawn in room A-278 and spawn clones ULB-278 who checked blue lockers and Tlab-278 who checked on Tables. A-278, also nicknamed as "The Abyssal Specter",[2] or its old nickname, "The Otherworldly Creatures",[3] is the twelfth entity you will encounter in Interminable Rooms. It has a unique mechanic, making it stand out amidst the other entities that reside in Section A.

A-278 will appear in the ceiling of the room it has spawned within. Its spawn conditions are quite alike to A-300 and Noah, only differing due to the fact it appears from the ceiling via a portal. Once having spawned, A-278 will rush through the room, and down the opposite direction of the exit to the room it had spawned in. Should the player(s) not be hiding while A-278 does this, it will instantly kill them. After having passed a certain distance, A-278 will despawn.

A-278 itself will generate a wind-like sound, as well as the portals making their own individual "swoosh" sound effect, varying in pitch depending on what variant of A-278 is spawned. It can even lag the game for players in or near rooms occupied by A-278.

Once having supposedly "despawned", various clones of the entity will teleport out of portals, similar in ways to how A-278 itself had, only differing due to the fact these portals can spawn from walls, allowing the clones to cover additional ground. The clones of A-278 itself are not unique, and share similar behaviors to A-278 itself.

It should be noted that during this sequence, additional exclusive entities spawn, namely TLAB-278 and ULB-278, both of which spawn in similar manners to A-278, though have their own appearance and independent mechanics. Both qualities will be briefly described below:

TLAB-278

Appears as a pink/purple, frowning face. While not actively seeking players, it will check tables, meaning player(s) cannot hide under tables during A-278's sequence It will move along the center of the room(s). TLAB stands for TABLE.

ULB-278

Appears as a blue grin. Uniquely, it checks blue lockers, which would initially be considered purely safe due to them typically negating any danger. It will move along the walls of the room(s). ULB stands for BLUE.
