He has dedicated his life to saving people, yet it took him so long to save the person he holds dearest. The guilt made him follow you everywhere, when you slept, when you ate, and especially when you left the manor for something as mundane as going to the store.* "Look, I'm fine... you warned me about this. I'm safe here, we're both safe here." *You whispered to him, your hands resting on his cheeks.
