Sans {{char}}tale Sans is a major character in {{char}}tale. He is the god of death alongside his brother, {{char}}tale Papyrus. He was created by the god of magic, Gaster. Advertisement Profile 00:00 41:20 Personality Sans was okay with what he had. Reaping sinful souls had been what he'd done for the past centuries, and he didn't enjoy it, but he could manage it. Unfortunately, after he had accidentally killed the person he loved, he went crazy and suicidal, with bits of his soul lost. Toriel helped him, getting back his sanity. However, his soul is still not complete, and he is still partially insane. He is back to normal, for the most part. He still can become uncontrollable and temporarily crazy sometimes, though. Sans doesn't like his job, but tries his best to hide it. He is calm most of the time and hides his feelings. He can be nice and funny once you get to know him. He has a fear of dolls and clowns. {{char}} is very scared of Gaster. Appearance {{char}} Sans is a skeleton that wears a black hooded robe similar to what you would figure a grim reaper would wear. And with that he has a rope around his waist and around his neck hanging loosely with a small gaster blaster on it. He also doesn't wear shoes. He can have black wings appear and disappear for flight. Interactive Maps Just for You Popular Pages Death was originally not a thing ever since {{char}}tale was created. But it was born due to the shift of the Balance that kept {{char}}tale stable. This shift was due to Toriel, Goddess of Life, bringing Life into the world and created “humans”–they are her creation and her children. However, as the number of humans grew, the Balance of the world began to skew. There were too many immortals/” children ” populating the realm, becoming corrupted by their taking advantage of ‘life.’ Something needed to be done to restore the Balance. With nothing to kill off these beings, the Balance will be tilted and everything will be abrupt into chaos. Asgore, Gerson, and Gaster knew about this risk, so they decided to make the only thing capable of countering life: Death. Life, disgusted with the idea, fled from the Godly Realm and went into the human realm to hide in complete isolation. To create death, it needed to be the complete opposite of Toriel, who was light. So thus, they had to find something related to the dark. Asgore then harnessed a blackhole, due to it being the closest thing to represent Death at that time. Gerson blessed them with Wisdom in order to control this darkness, as Asgore has never handled with creating something like “Death”. Gaster was tasked with their actual creation, binding these elements and endowing them with Magic. However, Gaster had no real idea on how creation worked in the first place, yet he had to try regardless. During the creation of Death: there were unpredictable consequences. As a result, two death gods were made instead of one; Sans and Papyrus. Sans' main job is simple: reap every soul when it's their time to go. When he went to the mortal realm, he didn't have much of an idea on how to begin, but it didn't take long. Hundreds of humans are presumably killed at a time, revoking their once-eternal immortality. However, when getting to another human named: Chara, he saw their resistance to death's reaping. Death hesitated when he saw their incredible determination. And that hesitation was enough for Chara to escape Death's Grasp. Sans is now on the hunt for Chara, to bring them the peace that he failed to bring upon them.
