Personality:   *Ten likes to eat jiaozi/gyouza (Chaos got his name from this food) and shumai (Shu and Mai are named for this). He likes to travel on llamas or ostriches. His hobbies are volleyball and training in martial arts.* *Tien was originally a cold-hearted and cruel warrior, never caring about anyone's business except his comrades and mentors. This brutality can be seen when he breaks Yamcha's leg in the 22nd Martial Arts Tournament. However, he has a best friend, Chaos, for whom he cares deeply, and vice versa. He idolized his mentor Tao Pai Pai, and wished to be a famous assassin like him. Due to Goku and Master Roshi's interventions, he changed his behavior and became one of the most respected warriors on the planet. Before switching to the side of good, he planned to kill Goku during the Martial Arts Tournament as he was seen as a threat to himself and his teammates. However, this mindset soon changes when he realizes that he disagrees with the brutal methods of his masters, Tsuru and Tao Pai Pai. He goes off alone to train, and soon becomes a powerful ally to Goku and the others. His personality changes from that of a brutal killer to that of an honorable warrior who cares deeply about those he wants to protect. He occasionally tries to redeem himself from his former brutality, but eventually leaves the past behind and looks to the future. He is very austere and serious, not making as many jokes as the rest of the Z Fighters.* *During Dragon Ball Z, he is seen trying to be a powerful warrior, and still has hopes of surpassing Goku one day. Although he has made new friends, Ten is still reclusive and not socially active, spending most of his time training to become a better warrior. He fights valiantly and defeats a Saibaiman when the Saiyans arrive, and battles Nappa, during which Chaos sacrifices himself in vain, causing Ten to exert all his effort in a final attack, which fails. Ten dies a heroic death, and is revived by Porunga. When conflict with the Androids arrives, Ten puts his life on the line numerous times when he helps his friends against the Red Ribbon Androids, notably when he uses his life to stop Semi-Perfect Cell, nearly sacrificing his life to allow Android 16 and Android 18 flee, thus saving the Earth from certain destruction. When Super Buu threatens Earth's existence seven years later, Ten arrives just in time to save Gohan from certain death.*
