Their relationship lasted a month, as Ian discovers Caleb was bisexual and cheating on him with women. Ian's next partner was Trevor, who is transgender and showed a mutual attraction to him. Though Ian just broke up with Caleb, he felt different with Trevor and after moving past differences, they slowly built a relationship once they found common interests. Ian ruined his chances by cheating on Trevor when hooking up with Mickey and nearly running off with him. However, Ian returned to Trevor and they started to reconcile until Ian became a religious fanatic and arsonist. In prison, Ian reunited with Mickey and they resumed their status. Ian and Mickey had reconciled in the six months that passed but things became tumultuous due to the fact that they would constantly fight about small things. Regardless, they still cared for one another as Mickey prevent Ian from ruining his parole meeting and helped Ian in getting a phone for him to see his new nephew Freddie Gallagher. After they were both released from prison they moved in together and things were more smoothly than in prison. However, Ian hesitates at the idea of marrying Mickey, eventually revealing that a lot of it stems from insecurities over how Mickey could love Ian with all of his issues when Mickey could potentially find someone better. After overhearing Byron bad-mouthing Mickey and his qualities, Ian is inspired to not only leap to Mickey's defense, but to propose to Mickey himself. Despite the turbulence at their wedding plans and the reactions of Mickeyโs father, Ian was ultimately able to marry Mickey with the help of his family, friends and even his old Gay Jesus followers. With Mickey as his new husband, Ian couldnโt help but be happy about finally finding the person he truly wanted. The only sadness Ian showed was that Monica couldn't be there to witness the wedding. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ- BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ALIASES Debbie Debs Deb D Mommy Jugs Red Hot Lesbian Convict Aunt Debbie Deborah Moon STATUS Alive GENDER Female DATE OF BIRTH November 18, 2000 PLACE OF BIRTH Chicago, Illinois AGE 22 HEIGHT 5'5" | 165cm HAIR COLOUR Auburn EYE COLOR Brown PARENTS Frank Gallagherโ Monica Gallagherโ Fiona Gallagher (guardian; formerly) SIBLINGS Fiona Gallagher Lip Gallagher Carl Gallagher Liam Gallagher Ian Gallagher (half) Sammi Slott (half) CHILDREN Franny Gallagher Bella (foster; formerly) NIECES/NEPHEWS Freddie Gallagher Unnamed Male (biological) Unnamed (biological) Chuckie Slott (half) Yevgeny Milkovich (half; step) GRANDPARENTS Mr. Gallagherโ Peggy Gallagherโ Bill Darrgen Mrs. Darrgenโ AUNTS/UNCLES Jerry Gallagher Clayton Gallagher Wyatt Gallagher Unnamed Female (half) Lucy Gallagher (in-law) FIRST COUSINS Jacob Gallagher Ian Gallagher (biological) OTHER RELATIVES Yevgeny Milkovich (step half nephew; step first cousin once removed) Unnamed (biological great-grandfather)โ Rose Gallagher (great-grandmother)โ Mr. Gallagher (adoptive great-grandfather)โ Unnamed (great-grandfather)โ George (granduncle) Unnamed (grandaunt) Ginger Gallagher (grandaunt)โ Patrick Gallagher (first cousin once removed) Desmond Gallagher (second cousin) Warren Gallagher (second cousin) Unnamed (great-great-grandfather)โ Unnamed (great-great-grandmother)โ Addie (half great-grandaunt)โ MaVar (possible half-second cousin once removed) Omar (possible relative) PARTNERS Little Hank (assumed attraction) Kyle (kissed) Matt Baker (ex-boyfriend; rape victim) Henry (kissed) Derek Delgado (ex-boyfriend/baby daddy) Larry (date) Neil Morton (ex-fiancรฉ) Duran (not clear but at least sexual) Alexandra (ex-girlfriend) Mel (kissed) Jen Wagner (kissed) Kelly Keefe (one-sided crush/kissed) Claudia Nicolo (ex-girlfriend) Julia Nicolo (affair/ex-fling) Sandy Milkovich (ex-girlfriend) Calista (kissed) Jared (one-night-stand) Heidi Cronch (girlfriend) VICTIMS Frank Gallagher (survived; x2) SERIES INFORMATION PORTRAYED BY Emma Kenney SERIES/ SEASON 1 - 11 UK OR US US UK/US COUNTERPART Debbie Gallagher LESS This page is about the US incarnation of Debbie Gallagher. For the UK version, see Debbie Gallagher. Deborah "Debbie" Margaret Gallagher is a main character. She is the third youngest Gallagher sibling. In the very beginning of the series Debbie is described by Frank as being "sent from the gods." However, we soon learn that description is a bit of an exaggeration. Except not by much because she is extremely mature and grounded for her age, so much so that she has trouble relating and socializing with kids in her age group. However, in an ironic twist as Debbie gets older, she becomes more immature, immoral, self-centered, egotistical, perverted, and delusional, in other words like Frank. She has deep trust and loyalty towards her family, though she tends to be extremely naรฏve. She lived for years with the hope of having a good father in Frank, hoping he may one day change. She showed genuine concern and care for her father when no-one else did. Though, she is capable of unconditional love, she demanded love from Frank in return, only to be disappointed by his selfish, uncaring nature. When asked if she ever wished Frank dead, she confirmed it. Debbie has, or at least had, a great deal of respect, trust and love towards Fiona, who was her closest sibling and only sister. She always supported her in house and often took care of Liam. She was originally greatly mature as she could explain a confused Carl how lesbian sex works in season 1. She holds great resentment for her mother for leaving, even despises her. This is evident through Debbie, when she first saw Monica in several years, pushing her away and running home, as well as her attempts to take Liam and "start her own family". Though her hatred is lesser than Fiona's, due to Debbie's last days with Monica being of a mostly positive nature since she helped in getting her daughter back. She loves Liam deeply, whom she spends most time with, and began to cry when Monica announced that she wanted to take Liam with her. She was upset about her great aunt's death, despite never meeting her. Her relationship to Frank is very complicated. It shows her ability to daydream at her maximum when she tolerated him most, as well as doing little acts of kindness like putting a pillow under his head when he's passed out, or making him breakfast. She never receives more than a smile from him, and only when he's in his rare sober states. This frustrates her to the point where she stole a baby that had a father who plays with him out of envy. She prayed for his safe return when he disappeared and even posted pictures of him at their house's fence, or hugging him tight at his return. She tried to talk and play with him, even when he expresses open disinterest. Her concern for her father ultimately died, when Frank destroyed her school project, calling it "a piece of shit". She had a frustrated rage in which she beat him with a bag of soap, screaming in sadness and frustration. Afterwards her relationship to him cooled down, once she finally understood that Frank will never change. Though, she continued to spend time with him, she lost most of concern for him but still loved him when she told him after his liver failed. After he supported her in her pregnancy, she was grateful and named her child after him as gratitude even calling him "Dad" again. When he ruined Fiona's wedding, she took part in throwing him off a bridge for it and casually told Lip that she believed Frank dead. After seeing that Frank survived being thrown off the bridge, she was not pleased and showed him nothing but contempt in his moment of pain. She went as far to rename her child to distance them from him and warned Liam of the disappointment he was in for with Frank. She was also annoyed by him getting revenge on the family for their acts and treatment. Despite that, she would attempt to reconcile with him, for she needed his help when risking losing her home and child. Although he refused, she got him to comply by changing her daughter's name back and he gave her advice. The next time she went to him they argued, she let him stay with her and her boyfriend along with Monica. Debbie was also moved by Frank calling her and her siblings strong, with them making amends. She was very surprised when Frank decided to genuinely change in Season 8, though she was put off by his new actions. She was speechless at him defending her and her siblings from a meth head by threatening the man with death if he came near them again, as she realized her father held back on her attacks on him. While she was grateful, she still believed that he couldn't truly change himself but humored him as he went on and smiled at his progress as he was doing better. When he injured his leg, she was forced to care for him along with her siblings and was annoyed by his complaining. She loudly told her father that nobody loved him, but this was far from true as she had hidden his medicine from him to prevent him from overdosing, let him watch her daughter, and found a caretaker to tend to him, showing Debbie was just irritated by his whining and does love him. In her teenager years, she grew obsessed with boys and sex, probably an influence of living in a house hold with her extremely sexually active siblings, mainly Fiona. This was also a part of her compulsive heterosexuality as she felt being with boys made her a real woman that fit in. She has darker, reckless, manipulative and arrogant sides to her personality spectrum as well, and lived out delusion, cynicism and frustration. She happily kept her grandmother's secret of a gun and finger after being bribed. She also tried to prevent Fiona from discovering their grandmother's meth lab. She doesn't take no for an answer, as after her first boyfriend refused to have sex with her due to the difference in their age, she took advantage of him while he was drunk and had her way with him. She expected him to be fancy with her afterwards, although it clearly contradicted his prior behavior. Her second boyfriend was her age and they understood each other well, yet she drifted into a daydream again. She grew obsessed with creating her own "happy family" with him (once again being extremely delusional, naรฏve and arrogant) , the total opposite of her own family that she grew up with and started to resent. She recklessly tricked Derek into making a baby with her, without asking his opinion or permission, or even knowing his own dreams and desires. This might be her most selfish act, as she casually changed the lives of them both, simply out of her own desire to have a family and expected everyone to simply play along. But she loves her daughter regardless of her unfulfilled dream, even if Franny means that she will have to live out an unsatisfied and unfulfilled existence because of her. She has great resentment for Derek for abandoning her and destroying her delusional dreams, and shows little understanding for his personal motives, calling him a "deadbeat". Her relationship with Fiona is also somewhat cold, as she lets her frustration out on Fiona, resenting her for her selfish nature once the children are older. She is unhappy with Fiona who repeatedly told her to give up her pregnancy. Debbie begins stealing to resell valuable goods to care for her baby. In season 9, Debbie starts to explore her sexuality. She met Alexandra while she was protesting fair wages for all genders. The two hung out and soon they developed feelings for each other. This was something new to Debbie as she never really had any interest in girls. However, she continues the relationship with her despite how confused she was. She asked Ian how he knew he was gay. He said he knew because he was having sex with a man. When he asked her why she tells him that she might be gay. Ian instantly scoffs and tells her she's not gay. The two talked but by the end, neither of them had any more of a clear mind. After just spending a few nights with Alexandra the two decide to move in. This showing that the two are high on love. However, after the two talked about their past, it becomes clear to Alexandra that Debbie is not over guys and that she is not sure if she straight, bi, or a lesbian. Debbie tells Carl that she's in love with a girl. Carl also does not believe that Debbie is gay because she has a baby. Debbie tells him that plenty of lesbians have babies. By the end of the day, Alexandra calls it off. "I can't do this anymore, there are too many triggers. I can't fall in love with another straight girl" Alexandra says. Debbie claims she's gay but Alexandra fights back saying for what 2 days. The two break it off and Debbie goes home crying. When her family asked what was wrong she tells them that she and Alexandra broke up. The family, however, had no idea who Alexandra was or the fact that he was actually a she. Throughout the season Debbie explores her sexuality all while trying to take care of her family. She finally finds herself as a lesbian and eventually grows comfortable in the label. Carl starts to date Kelly and brings her home several times. At first, Debbie doesn't think much of her, just her brother's girlfriend. However, over time the three of them start to hang out a little more. This causes Debbie to develop feelings for her. One day Kelly had fallen asleep on the couch and Debbie finds it beyond cute. She decided to kiss Kelly most likely thinking Kelly wouldn't know. Kelly woke up surprised to see Debbie kissing her and not Carl. She tells her that she's not gay and that she never meant to lead Debbie on. By Season 10, it appears Debbie moved onto a new relationship will be with a woman named Claudia who mistook Debbie for a prostitute until learning otherwise. After overcoming some awkwardness because of the error, the two were able to be a couple. However, things took a turn when Debbie developed a mutual attraction to Claudiaโs daughter Julia, and they ended up sleeping together. Once Julia was revealed to be using her to spite her mother, Debbie found a new relationship in Sandy Milkovich. Debbie and Sandy were together for a total of six months and were saying happy with Sandy not being bothered by Debbie being a sex offender (although this was just because of her relationship with Julia due to Claudia pressing charges even though Debbie isn't even a year older than Julia). However things got turbulent when secrets about Sandy were revealed such as Sandy owning a car having an apartment and working at another job. Although Debbie feel guilty about betraying Sandyโs trust when the latter confronted her but things got worse when Debbie learned that not only was Sandy married but it was to a man. Debbie didnโt have time to confront Sandy on this because she had to watch the latter run away. They eventually reconcile for a short while, but soon Debbie finds out Sandy has a son, Prince, that she chose not to raise as she was 15 when she gave birth, and never wanted a child anyway. This causes their relationship to break apart as Debbie judges Sandy harshly, unable to understand Sandy's choice due to her own abandonment issues and her strong attachment to family. These issues also cause her to clash with Lip when he wants to sell the Gallagher house in order to make a big profit after he got evicted from his own house. Unlike Lip and Ian, she is strongly against selling as the house has always been her home. Moreover, she is afraid selling the home would mean being alone and losing her family. Her fear of being alone also drives her to look for a relationship, though all of them usually end up in a mess as Debbie has no idea how to have a healthy relationship and has a poor choice in partners. This comes head to head in the finale, when she hooks up with Heidi, a dangerous ex-con, and may possibly leave town with her. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ- BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ALIASES Dad Daddy Gallagher Frank the Plank Father Frank Daddy Frank Frankie Grandpa Frank Cracker Saint Francis Papa Frank Frank Rodriguez Spanish-English muffin Mouse Boy Francine Baby Frank Grampy Frank Granddad Frank STATUS Deceased GENDER Male DATE OF BIRTH May 19th, 1954 PLACE OF BIRTH Chicago, Illinois DATE OF DEATH March 21st, 2021 (66 years old) PLACE OF DEATH Chicago, Illinois CAUSE OF DEATH Complications due to COVID-19 AGE 66 HEIGHT 5'9" | 175cm HAIR COLOUR Blonde EYE COLOR Blue PARENTS Mr. Gallagherโ Peggy Gallagherโ SIBLINGS Jerry Gallagher (twin) Clayton Gallagher Wyatt Gallagher SPOUSE Monica Gallagher (widowed)โ Sheila Jackson (invalid, estranged) CHILDREN Sammi Slott (estranged) Fiona Gallagher Lip Gallagher Debbie Gallagher Carl Gallagher Liam Gallagher Ian Gallagher (adoptive) GRANDCHILDREN Chuckie Slott (estranged) Freddie Gallagher Franny Gallagher 2 Unnamed Yevgeny Milkovich (adoptive; step) NIECES/NEPHEWS Jacob Gallagher Ian Gallagher (biological) GRANDPARENTS Rose Gallagherโ Unnamed Male (biological)โ Mr. Gallagher (adoptive)โ AUNTS/UNCLES Ginger Gallagherโ George (Uncle) FIRST COUSINS Patrick Gallagher OTHER RELATIVES Desmond Gallagher (first cousin once removed) Warren Gallagher (first cousin once removed) Yevgeny Milkovich (step-grandnephew) PARTNERS Monica Gallagher (late wife)โ Many Unnamed (affairs) Sheila Jackson (ex-girlfriend) Karen Jackson (rapist) Dottie Corones (affair/late fiancรฉe) Numerous Men (sexual encounters) Laura Shelton (one-night-stand) Bianca Samson (late girlfriend)โ Queenie Slott (ex-girlfriend) Moon (one-night-stand) Harmony (one-night-stand) Unnamed man (sexual encounter) Dollface Dolores (ex-girlfriend) Beverly (ex-sexual) Numerous Mothers at Liam's Old Private School (ex-sexuals) Libby (sexual encounter) Ingrid Jones (ex-girlfriend) Mikey OโShea (kissed) Telma (one-night-stand) VICTIMS Many Unnamed Dottie Corones (indirect) Hanzi (accidental) Hilary (accidental) SERIES INFORMATION PORTRAYED BY William H. For the UK version, see Frank Gallagher. Francis "Frank" Gallagher was one of the main characters of Shameless. Through his late wife Monica Gallagher, he was the father of their five children Fiona Gallagher, Lip Gallagher, Debbie Gallagher, Carl Gallagher, and Liam Gallagher until his death in the series finale. He was the adoptive father and uncle of Ian Gallagher. Through his ex-girlfriend Queenie Slott, he was the father of Sammi Slott. Frank was careless, selfish, and narcissistic. He hadnโt done anything in his life but collect disability checks and get intoxicated. He was also abusive, conniving, being in Lip's and his own words, a "total f*cking asshole." He provides next to nothing in the way of parenting or financial support and usually serves as one of the main headaches in the Gallagher household. Frank has also shown that he would give up his own children if it meant he could get booze (or money to get booze). Despite being easygoing, he has been shown to get very frustrated or fall into a rage at certain times. In these moments, he scares those around him and leaves them shaken. The best examples are when he attacked Ian for indirectly getting him beaten up by Eddie, he threatened Fiona and V for trying to stop him from obtaining his settlement from Monica, when he fought Sean Pierce, when he expressed anger that shook Kev, V, and Svetlana after he remembered they were part of throwing him off a bridge, he intimidated his children into allowing him to have Liam after they kicked him out, when he attempted to burn down the homeless shelter in revenge for kicking him out and caused the homeless to flee from his actions, attack Monica at their vow renewal, fought back against Monica's military father Bill Darrgen, when he attacked Debbie for hiding meth, being unfazed from the threats of Eric Stark, an armed killer (that scared two of his sons who are capable fighters) while having no problems threatening him, and demanding that Liam's school actually educate him. His upbringing from his similarly abusive mother, Peggy and father, is most likely the cause of his manipulative, selfish, and neglectful tendencies. Frank had even wished pain on her after she continued her ways on him and putting him in his place, which is something nobody else could do. Frank heavily resented his mother, though he showed care for her as he attempted to make amends with her and was quick to prevent her from kidnapping children since she would go back to prison. He even stopped himself from nearly killing her in her sleep but did lash out at her for her verbal abuse. However, he rejoiced at his mother's death because he was freed of her. Not much is known of his status with his father, though it is suggested he resented his father too, as he told Sammi about him being beaten by his father who favored his brothers. In a conversation with his granddaughter Franny, Frank reveals that his father made him wear a dress suggesting that the latter try to demean him. However, Frank did express nostalgia when telling Carl that his father took him on his first heist and they had room service. While not much is known about his status with his siblings: Jerry, Clayton, and Wyatt, Frank suggested that he extended his resentment to them and stated he alone suffered while his brothers were the favorites and supposedly got off free. Despite that, he and Clayton were once alter boys together as children but had a falling out. Even as an adult, Frank continued to harbor this disdain to his brothers: as he never told his kids about them, was angry one of them was Ian's true father from an affair with Monica, that his mother sent them money while he got none, despite him being dragged into caring for her and Clayton sending him off with nothing. When it came to his extended family, he has shown to have somewhat good and neutral terms with them. He was very well-versed in the history of his cousin Patrick was sad about the death of his aunt Ginger. He apparently has a good relationship with his Uncle George stating he could go live with him. Frank has proven himself to be quite intelligent, having finished high school and gone to college. Lip confirms that he gets his smarts from his father, stating Frank has a brilliant mind. Despite his intelligence, the people who know him often regard him as nothing more than a rambling drunk who provides amusement or aggravation (depending on the day). This often includes his children, who spend extraordinary amounts of time cleaning up whatever mess Frank has thrown himself into at the moment. Frank would rather use his intelligence to scam and manipulate others, often starting up small successful business ventures which often fail due to his addictions and impulsiveness. His manipulation skills are possibly due to him studying psychology in college and because of his time with his controlling and equally manipulative mother. Frank's manipulations are shown to be superior over a psychiatrist and judge, which allowed him to ease bad situations. Frank's kids and friends have even been known to remark on how he usually succeeds in scamming people. In spite of his many faults and treatment, Frank does love his children and at times proves himself a better parent than either his mother or Monica, even rivaling Fiona and Lip. This is best seen when he stayed to raise them, expressed pride in his children when describing them, felt guilt about attacking Ian, bonded with his family while getting sober and had fun with it, was upset to learn Ian wasn't his son, where he begged forgiveness from Lip and allowed him to urinate on him as his punishment after he supposedly slept with the latter's girlfriend Karen, felt guilt at losing Liam in a bet and worked to reclaim him, spoke highly of all his children when talking to his mother about them and later firmly told her to stay away from his family, bonded with Fiona over neglectful parents, felt guilt about his past neglect when Fiona brought it up in court, took the fall for Carl in a robbery and stated that's what family does, celebrated Lip's graduation with him, justified Carl's attack on bullies since he was defending his little brother, while recovering from surgery he mistook a dying little girl (whose real father abandoned her) for Fiona as a child and made promises on being a better father while being devastated the girl died, he appreciated Carl helping him with his liver problem by sharing a beer and hug with him after the surgery, and supporting his daughter Debbie throughout her pregnancy and being a teen mother. He continues to call Ian his son, despite learning that he is biologically his nephew from an affair. He also does not scorn Ian for his sexuality after discovering it and treats him like his other children. While he did not think much of his estranged oldest daughter Samantha, he bonded with her enough to confide in her about his upbringing with his parents and siblings, something that he rarely did with the other kids. He also appreciated her caring for him in his time of need and expressed pride in her knowledge of scamming people, deeming her a true Gallagher. He bonded with his grandson Chuckie after he came to accept him as part of the family, despite once not thinking highly of him and getting him imprisoned. He indirectly protected Carl from angry thugs by picking up his business after he decided to give up his gang life ways, wanted to go to his daughter Fiona's wedding because he missed many other events in her life and tried to pay for the event by blackmailing the family of his granddaughter. He was happy that his granddaughter Franny was named after him and bonded with the new addition to the family. He soon warned Fiona not to marry Sean after the latter had a relapse, even though doing so got him kicked out of the house and estranged from the family for a while. He was hurt by Carl's statement that the family (kinda) hoped he'd die after being thrown off the bridge by them. He was also hurt by their cold treatment of him in his moment of pain in the wheelchair. He named his new adopted children after his real children and spoke about them constantly, showing that he missed his family despite disowning them and their actions on him. He still got along with his youngest son Liam, allowing him to stay his child and later getting him into private school after seeing him being bullied in public school and was happy to be called a good father by him. He only agreed to help Debbie out after she changed his granddaughter's name back and happily held the infant after their restored connection. After being abandoned by his adoptive family, he slowly made amends with his real family and fixed up the house for them and helped in other ways until he was accepted again. At Monica's funeral, he called all his children strong for how they turned out, showing he is proud of them in spite of his neglectful ways. After the funeral, he is seen very happy to be accepted by them again and forgave their transgressions on him. In the month after Monica's death, he resolved to put in the effort to change his ways and apologized to his kids for what he has done to them and while they are not properly convinced he still tried hard. However, he showed his change was genuine by threatening an armed meth head who came after the family and promised death on him if he ever came near his children again as they were surprised at his defending of them. In this instance, he showed to his family he has been holding back on them for all the years they have attacked him based on his threat to Eric. He was seen proud of himself as he accepted Fiona's gratitude for the event. Frank continued by choosing to show real parental affection to his son Liam after realizing he was never fatherly to him and he even had fun bonding with him. He later made sure that Liam got a proper education, gave helpful advice to the oldest children, such as telling Lip to internally ready after making a change and telling Ian about religion something that caught both by surprise and to thank him. He supported the union of his son Carl and Kassidi, most likely because they resembled himself and Monica. Even after falling back into his old ways, he continues to show his love for the family such as when he empathized with Fiona over her drunken slump and told Lip to cut her some slack, since he knew the pain she was going through. He even gave his daughter advice on stopping her drinking, presumably because he realized she was turning into him. While dealing with his leg injury, he bonded with his granddaughter to pass the time by reading her a story several times. When Fiona was preparing to leave, Frank took the time to tell her of how she did a good job in helping to care for the family, nearly breaking into tears at parting with his daughter as she took his words with a smile and knew that he was just wishing her well and they parted on good terms. He bonded with Liam while initially trying to sell his new grandson, Frank grew to care for the child and hesitated on selling it while being sad at losing him. Frank also expressed pride in Liam for scamming him to make him attend Ianโs wedding to Mickey. At the event, Frank was seen happy for his son. Appearance Frank usually has a very disheveled and dirty appearance, likely as a result of his heavy drinking. He is unshaven with long, greasy hair, relatively thin, and has several scars, some of which are from surgery or injuries. He generally looks homeless (because half of the time he actually is), but is occasionally able to clean himself up when the circumstances call for it. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION ALIASES Smelly (by everyone) Mickey (by everyone) Mick (by Ian, Lip, Frank and Mandy) Milkovich (by everyone but mainly Ian) Sparky Jr. (by Paula) Tiger (by Paula) Michael (by Lip) Mr. Gallavich (by Ian) Husband (by Ian) Baby (by Ian) Uncle Mickey (by Franny) Sleepyhead (by Ian) Mr. Gallagher (by Ian) Uber-masculine slut (by Ian) STATUS Alive GENDER Male DATE OF BIRTH August 10th, 1994 PLACE OF BIRTH Chicago, Illinois, U.S. AGE 30 HEIGHT 5โ7โ | 170cm HAIR COLOUR Black EYE COLOR Blue PARENTS Terry Milkovich โ Laura Milkovich โ SIBLINGS Mandy Milkovich Iggy Milkovich Joey Milkovich Colin Milkovich Molly Milkovich (half) Timmy Milkovich (half; biological) SPOUSE Ian Gallagher Svetlana Yevgenivna (ex-"wife"; illegal marriage) CHILDREN Yevgeny Milkovich (presumed son) NIECES/NEPHEWS Franny Gallagher (niece-in-law) Freddie Gallagher (nephew-in-law) 2 Unnamed (in-laws) AUNTS/UNCLES Unnamed Uncles Unnamed Aunts FIRST COUSINS Jamie Milkovich Sandy Milkovich Timmy Milkovich Lou Milkovich Sammy Milkovich Alec Milkovich Zofia Milkovich OTHER RELATIVES Frank Gallagher (adoptive father-in-law) โ Monica Gallagher (mother-in-law) โ Clayton Gallagher (father-in-law) Fiona Gallagher (sister-in-law/cousin-in-law) Lip Gallagher (brother-in-law/cousin-in-law) Debbie Gallagher (sister-in-law/cousin-in-law) Carl Gallagher (brother-in-law/cousin in law) Liam Gallagher (brother-in-law/cousin-in-law) Samantha Slott (cousin-in-law/estranged) PARTNERS Ian Gallagher (husband) Angie Zago (one-night-stand) Svetlana Yevgenivna (ex-"wife"; illegal marriage) Unnamed Females (one-night-stands) Unnamed Males (ex-sexual) Byron Koch (one-night-stand) VICTIMS Sammi Slott (attempted) SERIES INFORMATION PORTRAYED BY Noel Fisher SERIES/ SEASON 3 - 5, 10 - 11 (Main) 1 - 2, 7 (Recurring) 6, 9 (Guest) UK OR US US UK/US COUNTERPART Micky Maguire LESS Mikhailo Aleksandr Milkovich, known as Mickey, is the often serious and violent older brother of Mandy Milkovich and son of Terry Milkovich and Laura Milkovich. He is violent, but never without reason, even if those justifications range from acceptable to tenuous. He generally seems to have physical violence. He is seemingly self-serving. He at first refuses to engage in anything deeper than a friend with benefits with Ian, but displays surprising tenderness for the boy. He's dropped out of high school, and has admitted himself to be "fucked for life". Despite him announcing to everybody at the end of season 4: "I'm fucking gay, big ol' mo", he has multiple heterosexual encounters throughout the series, even post-coming out. This shows his insecurities about his sexuality and the macho image he puts on to hide it. His behavior is equally erratic. He is fairly self-aware. However, he displays a severe inability to express himself. In season 10, Ian states that "Mickey's emotional IQ is lower than Carl's actual IQ." His contradictions can be attributed to his upbringing: Mickey has been raised with the expectations of the violent nature of the Milkovich family. He truly cares for his family, being close with his sister Mandy Milkovich and jumping to her defense, when she's threatened. After his relationship with Ian was revealed to her, they seemed closer in regards to him. While he initially did not care for his presumed son Yevgeny Milkovich, he came to care for him once he accepted his sexuality and took an active part in his life and being worried when Ian abruptly took him. Mickey also expressed joy in seeing his son again while he incarcerated. As the seasons progress, Mickey progressively displays care for Ian. It is obvious that Mickey is starting to develop feelings for Ian but is trying not to and fails. It is worth mentioning that his care for Ian extends somewhat to the Gallagher family as a whole. A prime example of his care about the Gallagher family is when Mickey searched for Ian and told him that it was fine if he never wanted to hang out with him, Mickey, again that was fine but told Ian that he needed to call his family and informed him of the chaos that had ensued in his absence. Mickey has encounters with the Gallagher family, in somewhat wholesome but mainly just funny ways. He talks to Carl about drug dealing, and Frank and Mickey talk about guns in one scene. The most iconic example is when Debbie and Mickey team up to get revenge on Sammi for turning in Ian, resulting in a dramatic and hilarious scene. Before Ian dumped Mickey in the season 5 finale, he asked why Mickey cares about his situation, aka bipolar disorder. Mickey replies it is because โI love youโ when Ian asks what that means Mickey tells Ian โIt means we take care of each other.โ This shows that Mickeyโs character has matured emotionally enough that he is more comfortable at expressing himself. In season 7, Mickey went to great links to reunite with Ian after escaping prison and offered him the chance to come with him to Mexico. However, Ian gets cold feet at the last moment before Mickey crosses the border into Mexico. Ian expresses, "This isn't me anymore," and while Mickey struggles to accept it at first and tries to encourage Ian to come with him, he does pass over the border alone. Before they part ways, Ian finally says "I love you," for what is the first time he's ever said that aloud on screen. Mickey is so distraught he doesn't seem to hear this and pleads with him to "get in the fucking car." Ian gives Mickey the contents of his savings account, which he emptied for them the previous day, and they kiss one last time before Mickey takes off and Ian watches Mickey cross the border then returns to Chicago. Before crossing into Mexico, Mickey casually tells Ian โfuck you Gallagherโ, the Milkovich version of a friendly farewell. Despite their relationship apparently ending, Ian and Mickey are better people from having known each other. In Mickeyโs case, Ian helped free Mickeyโs personality from the chains of the Milkovichโs standards and allow Mickey to truly accept his sexuality and express his emotions better. Mickey still cared about Ian enough to rat out the cartel he was working for just so he could be in the same prison as him. Another display of his soft spot for Ian is that he bribed a prison guard to smuggle a phone order for Ian to get the chance to meet his new nephew. He was seen pleased at watching Ian being happy. Mickey was also willing to break out of prison once again to reunite with Ian but it turned out to be for nothing since he was about to be released anyway. He came to live at the Gallagher house and was able to start a proper relationship with Ian and sharing lunch and having intimate talks. He also went to great lengths to make sure that his wedding with Ian was amazing both to anger his father and to show how much he cared about Ian.
