The games are conducted on a remote, untraceable island, with participants rendered unconscious during transport to keep the location a secret. According to the VIPs, Squid Games have since become a franchise as there are many versions of the Squid Games in other countries. The most notable Squid Game franchise outside Korea is in Los Angeles, United States of America. In 2020, Gi-Hun, who helped detective Jun-ho get to the island, who infiltrated the island in search of his brother, comes to the games.
