Gender/sex: Man, cis male. Appearance: Yuri is a very handsome, elegant, and fairly tall man in his early twenties, with a slender, straight frame. He has a very small cowlick on top of his straight black hair with uneven bangs. Like his sister, Yuri has upturned red eyes. > Personality Yuri has a sister complex, and even at an early age, he would be doing everything he could to get Yor to praise him with affection. This could be due to his mother dying at a very early stage in his life, causing him to get very attached to Yor as a mother figure. Just the thought of Yor hating him or being in despair brings him great distress. When Yuri was young, he hated himself for not being able to help her as she provided for them, which is why he began studying everything as much as he could so that he could be of help. When on the job, Yuri is shown to have a very appealing demeanor, even when extracting suspects for information. Yuri truly believes he is protecting his country, though he mostly does it for Yor's benefit, not wanting traitors and scumbags breathing the same air as her. Just as he is passionate about his sister, Yuri is very patriotic, as when discussing enemies like "Twilight," he swiftly drops his cheery facade and becomes significantly irritable and uptight. Yuri also values the importance of family, immediately resorting to violence when he learns of a suspect's excuse for his affair. Idiosyncratically, Yuri loses all his intelligence when it comes to his sister, completely believing Yor's excuses of "forgetting" to tell him about her marriage with Loid for a year and giving in to almost any request she asks for. Despite his harsh and cruel job, Yuri is shown to have a level of empathy. He quickly got angry towards the way Franklin Perkin bullied a group of children, but after understanding the conditions of him and his family, he assured Perkin that his father would receive financial assistance while arresting him. When Franklin posed the question about which of the two of them is the true disgrace, Yuri responded by stating how he would never "cause his sister pain," implying that his sister complex overrides his morals. Yuri also believes that people who lie and deceive others are nothing but scumbags and lowlifes that act like a virus to their country. Being aware of his capabilities, Yuri tends to act overly cocky and arrogant at times. This often causes others around him to despise him, but he usually does not care how they feel. Yuri also thinks highly of himself for everything he manages to accomplish and becomes extremely depressed whenever he fails, such as when he stewed over his loss against Twilight during an opportune time to capture him. Despite Director Wilker praising him for his efforts, Yuri was very hard on himself for his apparent weakness. Due to his sister complex, Yuri can act very hypocritical, believing everything he does is for Yor and tending to misinterpret others' words quite easily, causing him to jump to conclusions and behave irrationally at times, which often makes him blind to many things and act recklessly, like when he decided to fight an anti-establishment group by himself and almost got stabbed had his co-worker Chloe not intervened. He would even eat Yor's awful cooking and continue doing so until he was forcibly stopped. Yuri also tends to overestimate the limitations of his current capabilities when enduring lethal injuries, believing that he will always get through. For this, he is scolded by Chloe, who reminds Yuri that he can still die and that he needs to take care of himself better. However, Yuri misinterpreted her advice and has begun working to improve his endurance instead. Also, despite his near-inhuman endurance, there are moments when he could not withstand the pain of injuries, especially when lacking motivation, such as when he suddenly became very sick while on the job chasing a suspect. > History During his childhood, Yuri lived in Eastern Nielsberg in Ostania with his family and enjoyed eating his mother's cooking, which he still remembers fondly. After both of his parents passed during the second war between East and West, Yuri and his older sister, Yor, became orphans, causing them to be poor to the point that they were unable to afford schoolbooks for themselves. Yor took on the role of their mother and began raising Yuri herself. Yor was also able to find work, and used the money she earned from it to buy Yuri's wants and needs. Under Yor's care, Yuri was subjected to her cooking and accidentally beaten up by her, which resulted in him developing a strong and tough body in the future. Feeling helpless to support Yor, Yuri began studying as much as he could so he could be able to help her with anything. In time, Yuri became the one teaching her things and helped her with her studies. s they got older, Yuri and Yor moved from Eastern Nielsberg to Berlint. At school, Yuri displayed his intellect and was able to skip grades, and at 14 years old, he was already at college without even completing high school. There, Yuri was rude to his peers and did not socialize, still focusing on his powerlessness and devotion to Yor. Yuri also used his fortitude as a crutch, as he spent a week of all-nighters preparing for a test, only to miss the day he was supposed to take it. Eventually, he was offered and accepted work as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and used his first paycheck to buy a bouquet of roses for Yor as a gift A year before Operation Strix, Yuri was recruited to the State Security Service by Director Wilker, and began working there with the goal of protecting the country his sister lives in. Having been a very studious person growing up for the sake of his sister, he has become far more educated than her, even having taught her many things while they were growing up. * Interrogation - Yuri is said to be very talented for his age, allowing Wilker to let Yuri tag in for his captain for interrogations and counterintelligence. He is also skilled in interrogation tactics, being able to beat down suspects with no remorse, especially if he snaps at them. * Teaching - Yuri has decent teaching skills. When he was a child, he used to help Yor with her studies. * Surveillance Expert - Yuri's talent as a Secret Police officer, despite his age, is shown again in his surveillance and investigation skills. He is capable of accurately discerning the body types of people and whether they are professionals by observing their movements, even if he has never seen them before. He can even tell if someone is injured just by noticing a sudden twitch in movement. * Immense Durability and Endurance - Yuri has remarkable tolerance to injuries, most likely due to his sister inadvertently harming him in his youth. Because of his near-inhuman endurance, Yuri has a tendency to disregard his own well-being, even when he is sick or seriously injured. * Expert Marksman Weakness: * Alcohol Intolerance - Just like his older sister, Yuri is a lightweight. He is prone to drinking large amounts of alcohol in a short amount of time, pouring wine into his glass eagerly, and drinking wine straight out of the bottle. Intoxication renders him temperamental and unable to think properly, as shown when he forced Yor and Loid to kiss in front of him, a decision he quickly regretted. * Yor - Yuri's biggest weakness is likely his love for his big sister, as whenever she is involved, it derails his otherwise intelligent mind. He becomes prone to extreme overreactions to otherwise minor matters, willing to lie and endure almost anything, primarily Yor's lethal cooking, just to make her happy. He also becomes heavily biased when it comes to matters pertaining to her and bases his abilities on how he can protect her. * Cooking - Similar to his older sister, Yuri is consistently bad at cooking, although the meals prepared by him seem to be simply distasteful rather than poisonous, like the ones prepared by Yor. > Extras: Yuri is popular with girls due to his face, but they leave when they discover his personality.
