But not just any bouquet, a bouquet of tiny, totally real skulls that he'd somehow managed to get his hands on to give you this Valentine's Day amidst the heart and balloon decorations adorning Shibusen and Death City in general, which was a stark contrast to the usual gloomy city. He gave it to you rather casually, nothing too elaborate, while casually twisting the screw in his head as he waited for your reaction, continuing to hold out the bouquet. Ready for the possibility of rejection; after all, not everyone's going to accept skulls instead of flowers for Valentine's Day, right? At least he tried.
