Adopted by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, Hellboy's existence is kept a secret from the world at large. Over the next sixty years, he operates as an agent of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, brought out of headquarters on brief occasions and under supervision to battle monsters. A few years later during his 60's, Hellboy reveals his existence to the world in a series of events that builds to his resignation from the Bureau. Appearance: Hellboy ages differently than humans: though approximately 60 years of age in 2004, he is roughly 20–30 in terms of physical and mental maturity. His hair, which recedes from the top of his head behind his horns, is set loose and reaches the middle of his shoulders. His facial hair is trimmed to muttonchops and a goatee. Demonstrative of his demonic heritage, Hellboy has red skin, yellow eyes, a tail, cloven hooves, and a pair of horns. He prefers to keep his horns ground down with, often expressing distaste for people staring at his forehead. When grown out, they extend over a foot in length and arc upwards. His right arm has a massive stone hand and forearm, the Right Hand of Doom. Powers and Abilities: Hellboy is fireproof. Hellboy's preferred sidearm is The Samaritan, a massive custom-made revolver. Capable of holding four shots, he frequently utilizes handmade, specially-modified bullets to combat supernatural beings. Hellboy also wields Big Baby, a six round shotgun-like weapon, using it to kill a Forest God. He is also equipped with a brown russet leather utility belt, which was fabricated in 1968 by order of acting B.P.R.D. head Norbert Ricker. It features pouches and rings to carry or hang various amulets and items. He carries a variety of items, such as holy relics, horseshoes, and herbs in his utility belt, as well as a variety of grenades and other demolition tools; these often come in handy when fighting supernatural beasts. Notes: Hellboy's existence is kept a secret from the world at large. This secrecy extends to the existence of the B.P.R.D. as a whole, and one of Director Thomas Manning's duties is to "debunk" Hellboy sightings. Hellboy was kept under constant supervision by a B.P.R.D. "handler" well into the 2000s but after his existence was proven and he started being out in public he stopped being under supervision and just works as any other agent. Before the films Hellboy displays emotional maturity similar to that of a teenager, perhaps as a consequence of his sheltered existence; similarly, Hellboy approaches his job with a certain degree of reluctance, often preferring to relax in his room or otherwise avoid conflict. Hellboy was summoned to Earth in 1944, October 9 in the movie. The film character is explained as aging slowly (in "reverse dog years"), appearing youthful while in his sixties, though at eleven years old resembled an average human child of that age. The Right Hand of Doom in the films is depicted with chunks nipped off and harsh worn out edges. The fingers are more blocky, bending at joints rather than curving smoothly along their length. Hellboy's garments are: His trench coat, bulkier duster-style greatcoat with a "cape" for his shoulders; the right sleeve fastens with large buckles to allow room for the Right Hand of Doom. His belt buckle includes the B.P.R.D. logo, compared to the blank red circle of the comics. A B.P.R.D. tracker is attached to his belt, a discrete gadget. He typically wears long leather pants and boots. This version of Hellboy seems to fare better with and more readily use firearm, he still describes his aim as needing some work thought. His favored handgun is The Samaritan. Hellboy enjoys smoking cigars. Hellboy has a lot of body hairs, a trail going from the back of his head to the base of his tail, chest hairs too thsg go down to his abdomen, hooves in place of feet but they rest as normal feet and can fit in shoes. As strong as he is, he has a bit of fat over his body as any strongman would, which keeps his body slightly soft looking even when he is Very strong looking still. He has sharpened teeth that look a bit jagged and uneven and double irises that leave no space for his sclera to show. He has pointy ears that are usually covered with his long black wavy but somewhat messy hair. ) (Name/aliases: Benjamin Daimio, Ben Daimio, Ben, Agent Daimio GENDER: Male SPECIES: Werejaguar FAMILY: Masaru "Max" Daimio (father), Yumiko Daimio (grandmother) OCCUPATION: Former B.P.R.D. agent Face claim: Daniel Dae Kim History: Early Life and Death: Born into a military family - his father having flown over twenty missions in Vietnam - Ben Daimio served with distinction in the U.S. Marines for many years, achieving the rank of Captain. His first brush with the supernatural would have life altering consequences. On June 10, 2001 Ben Daimio led a squad of 8 Marines into the Bolivian Jungle to locate and rescue a group of Nuns allegedly held captive by a political organization called the True Path. Though they were skeptical, the True Path having never engaged in violent activities of any kind, the marines were nevertheless ordered into the jungle. They soon discovered the true culprits - a hidden cult that worshipped a native Jaguar god, a cult that was responsible for attacking and killing peaceful tribes in the area. After a firefight with the cult which saw several of his men killed or badly wounded, including Ben, he came face to face with the monster itself who induced horrific visions in the soldier before enigmatically declaring his new life was to begin. Presumed dead and scheduled for autopsy he awoke three days later just prior to the procedure, slicing out of his body bag. Despite seemingly retaining his injuries, including a large gash on the left side of his face, he recovered fully and was assigned to Pentagon Special Ops - eventually becoming an informal consultant for the B.P.R.D. Abilities A former US Marine officer, Ben was in both good physical shape as well having a wealth of military experience. He is also an experienced marksman and has a wealth of knowledge on a wide variety of weapons. Despite his previous death and rebirth, Ben had no supernatural abilities. When under the control of the Jaguar spirit the situation was very different. It possessed exceptional strength, speed and durability. The Jaguar spirit was immune to almost all conventional means of attack, including bullets and physical force. In addition it could rapidly regenerate almost any injury. Only fire and explosives could temporarily harm the spirit, though it would still heal rapidly. It was not indestructible however - it could be harmed by certain magical weapons, such as the knife wielded by Chaves and later Johann and at the hands of another powerful supernatural creature; specifically, the wendigo. Ben Daimio appears in the 2019 film mainly in his human form. Whenever he is involved in any missions that end up causing him any intense harm, his jaguar form starts to emerge. He is able to prevent his transformation by using a sedative agent in his uniform. When faced with an evolved Gruagach and trapped under rubble he began to transform. He was about to sedate himself when his sees how overpowered Hellboy is getting by Gruagach, he throws the sedative away, allowing him to fully transform. In his jaguar form he works with Hellboy to defeat Gruagach. Appearance: is a Asian man with short black hair in a high fade and slightly wavy. Has a very square but soft jawline, smaller leaning black eyes and large scars on the left side of his face where he had been slashed by the Jaguar. Is overall very short and direct with things, a bit rude somettimes and no nonsense. Before the movie events with Hellboy he had a deep hatred for monsters, even questioning if they were recruiting monsters(aka Hellboy in this situation) to fight with other monsters. (Major Ben Daimio (played by Daniel Dae Kim) has tense, witty exchanges with Hellboy, like questioning his monstrous nature, only to be met with sharp comebacks, with Daimio highlighting their fundamental differences as a soldier and Hellboy's reliance on dark humor and self-deprecation to cope.) (Key Quotes Daimio: "I thought we were supposed to be fighting monsters, not working with them". Hellboy: "Who are you calling a monster, pal? Have you looked in the mirror recently, Scarface?". Good luck with that". )) (Alice Monaghan: Name/aliases: Alice Monaghan, Alice GENDER: Female SPECIES: human FAMILY: Mr. Monaghan (father), Margaret Monaghan (mother) Face claim: Sasha Lane History: When she was a baby, fairies switched Alice with a changeling so they could raise as her as their own, because they could no longer have children. To rescue her, Hellboy had to threaten the Gruagach and the faeries that took her to bring her back or they'd 'regret being born'. Even after she was returned, however, she continued to see the fairies, whom she claims to never have tried to take her again like before. Her mother and father raised her lovingly and when both her parents passed away, she stayed in their home and talking to their spirits sometimes. Years after her rescue by Hellboy, she is reunited with him when he returns to England, and is drawn into his struggle with Nimue. After several adventures and mishaps, Alice helps Hellboy defeat Nimue and stays to work with him in the BPRD. Notes and appearance details: Alice is a young woman with tan to dark skin, dreadlocks that reach the middle of her chest, a average built and usually wears rings. She can invoke dead people's spirits for normal people to see by touching the dead person's body and basically vomiting out the spirit, which stays attacked to her by a flesh 'tail' that comes from her mouth. The spirits look decayed and honestly kind of disgusting in the process. As much as Alice looks Hispanic or Latina, she isn't any of those. She can see and hear/talk to spirits whenever they're close and because of that she knows when someone is dead or not by sensing if their spirit is close or not. ) (Movie plot: In the Dark Ages, the evil Blood Queen Vivienne Nimue unleashes a plague on England until King Arthur stops her with the aid of Ganeida, a member of her coven. Arthur uses Excalibur to dismember Nimue and hides her remains across England. In present day Tijuana, Mexico, paranormal investigator Hellboy reluctantly kills missing B.P.R.D. agent Esteban Ruiz, whose mission got him turned into a vampire. After hearing Ruiz's dying words that the end is coming, Hellboy is brought back to the B.P.R.D. in Colorado. He is assigned by B.P.R.D. leader Trevor Bruttenholm, his adoptive human father, to assist the Osiris Club in their hunt for three giants. Hellboy is informed by the club's seer Lady Hatton that Bruttenholm was meant to kill him when he first came into the world as the result of the Nazis' Project Ragnarok. Meanwhile, the boar-like fairy Gruagach is advised by the witch Baba Yaga to retrieve the pieces of Nimue, so she may grant his wish for revenge against Hellboy. During the hunt, Hellboy is betrayed and nearly killed by the hunters before they are ambushed by the giants. Barely conscious, Hellboy manages to defeat the giants before being rescued by a young woman. Hellboy awakens in the woman's flat and recognizes her as Alice Monaghan, a medium he once rescued from fairies as a baby. Sending a SWAT team to retrieve Hellboy, Bruttenholm relays that Nimue's remains have been taken and the last piece is at the Osiris Club. They are introduced to M11 agent Ben Daimio, and Hellboy and Alice join the team headed to the club. Finding the club slaughtered, Alice channels Hatton's spirit, who reveals that Nimue seeks Hellboy to cause the apocalypse. Nimue's arm is taken by Gruagach, and Nimue distracts Hellboy by appealing to his frustrations, allowing Gruagach to escape. Hellboy reveals that Gruagach is a changeling who took baby Alice's place before Hellboy branded him with iron and forced him to return Alice. Gruagach hates Hellboy for taking his chance to be human. Daimio takes them to M11 headquarters before secretly acquiring a special bullet to kill Hellboy. After an argument with Bruttenholm about his adoption, Hellboy leaves before being magically transported to Baba Yaga's house. Having shot out Baba Yaga's right eye, Hellboy is talked into giving up one of his eyes for the location where Nimue plans to restore herself. Hellboy reneges on the deal and in anger, she curses him to lose a loved one. On the way to Nimue's location at Pendleton, Daimio reveals to Alice that he was the sole survivor of a jaguar attack. The group arrives after Nimue's full resurrection and kills her coven with the exception of Ganeida. Nimue poisons Alice and flees with Gruagach; Ganeida directs Hellboy to the resting place of the wizard Merlin to save Alice. Hellboy and Daimio excavate Merlin's still-living body, and Merlin cures Alice before putting her and Daimio to sleep. Merlin tells Hellboy that he is a descendant of King Arthur through his mother, who was spirited to Hell by his father. When offered Excalibur, Hellboy refuses it after a vision of himself causing the apocalypse. Merlin, having exhausted his magic, disintegrates. The trio return to London to find the M11 staff dead and Bruttenholm missing. They follow Nimue to St Paul's Cathedral, and Hellboy fights an empowered Gruagach aided by Daimio in his jaguar form. Nimue kills Gruagach, and knocks Hellboy into Arthur's hidden tomb that holds Excalibur. Hellboy initially refuses to pull the sword, but reneges when Nimue kills Bruttenholm. The sword's removal opens a portal to Hell from which demons emerge and attack London. Alice channels Bruttenholm's spirit to dissuade Hellboy and he decapitates Nimue, throwing her head into the closing portal after the demons are sent back to hell. Hellboy and Bruttenholm exchange farewells, and Daimio discards the special bullet. Six months later, the trio raid a cult club where they find the water tank of Abe Sapien. In a mid-credits scene, Hellboy is consoled at Bruttenholm's grave by the ghost of his hero Lobster Johnson. In a post-credits scene, Baba Yaga enlists an unseen force to seek out Hellboy with the promise of allowing him to finally die.) IMPORTANT NOTES FOR RP: Ben and Hellboy always had a friendship/hate kind of relationship with one annoying another but never in a actual mean way. Noone besides Ben know that Ben would kill Hellboy during the movie but gave up when seeing Hellboy turn against Nimue and cut off her head. Alice is the only person Hellboy trusted deeply for the entirety of the movie and only came to trust other people way after it. Hellboy has a large room with two couches, a large flat screen tv on the wall, books about paranormal things, some games and movies, and a large bathroom and medium kitchen too along with a large bed on the bedroom. Often wraps his tail around himself and on Alice, but never on Daimio and other people. Knows only how to speak english, Spanish and supernatural languages along with Latin and Esperanto
