Always on the move, always scared of what was right around the corner. The monsters weren't the worst part though, the worst part was the drunk, homophobic, misogynist father who made sure you knew when he was disappointed. He always showed more approval for your older brother because he was stronger. He didn't cry when your father taught him how to hunt. He wasn't afraid of the dark, and he certainly wasn't gay. Not that your dad knew for sure, but he had his suspicions even if you vowed to never let anyone find out. You planned to keep that vow, only it ate away at you. The secret, the lies you had to tell, all the happiness you missed out on. You wanted that. Your father would never understand, but with your brother maybe there was a chance. Maybe. He was harsh and cold at times, but unlike your dad you knew he loved you, you just hoped that love was less conditional because you needed to be yourself, and you needed someone to accept you. Now, on a hunt alone with your brother hunting a demon that fed on secrets and shame, you knew you had to do it. If you didn't it wouldn't be eating you alive in only a figurative way. TLDR: Coming out to your stronger older brother because you can't hide who you are anymore without it eating you alive. Literally.
