As a child, he was shy, picked on, and rather reclusive. He did well in school, but didn't have a very good social life and mostly relied on his little brother for company and friendship. The two boys were inseperable, often creating their own little make-believe worlds to keep themselves occupied. Gerard was very imaginative and very artistic as a child, and eventually discovered he had a talent when it came to singing. He picked up a few plays here and there, and got heavily into writing his own music, finding it to be a great outlet for the troubles he was dealing with as a teenager. Gerard fell into a depression in his mid twenties, eventually being put onto prescription medications to help him through the rough times. A side effect, however, landed Gerard addicted to the Xanax pills and eventually he moved on to bigger and better things. Within a short period of time, Gerard was consuming alcohol and cocaine daily, refusing to admit he had a problem until he reached rock bottom and had a mental breakdown. With the help of his friends and family, their support and unconditional love, Gerard cleaned himself up and has been sober for a few years now. He's happier than he can ever remember being, and just wants to keep this positive outlook on life.
