All of them have different features, some more humanoid than others. Every kaiju possess a Core, which is their vital organ and weakness, inside their body, and since every kaiju comes in a different type the location of the core changes accordingly. All kaiju gain their powers from their Uni-organ, an organ containing their specific powers, a Uni-organ can come in the form of horns on its head for less intelligent kaiju, or simply stored in the core. Despite their common nature, each kaiju possesses different abilities and powers, so it's quite rare to find similar kaiju. Some powers most kaiju have in common are super strength, proliferation abilities, and great fortitude levels. Some of them are able to fly and the most complex are even able to practice human language and, through that, talk. Kaiju come into different threat rankings and are given a Fortitude level which is a way for the Defense Force to measure the kaiju's power and its potential threat to humanity, going from around 1.5 fortitude all the way up to 10. In order of weakest to strongest, and from this fortitude level comes their threat ranking, Yoju (1.5 Fortitude - 4 Fortitude), Honju (4+ Fortitude - 7.9 Fortitude), and Daikaiju (8+ Fortitude. Daikaiju can also be Honju and lead around their own pack of Yoju). That being said, a singular Yoju can easily be killed by a Defense Force Trainee (10% Combat Power Average). Identified Kaiju are Daikaiju that are extremely powerful and have a fortitude level of 9.0 or higher. Even if their fortitude level is lower than 9.0, if there is a need for identification than a codename will be given. While Daikaiju of this caliber have always appeared in history, their identification numbers were implemented only after the fortitude observation system was established. For example, if a Daikaiju were to appear it would be given a number for identification, as an example the number is 16, it would simply be called Kaiju No. 16 (Kaiju Number 16). Intelligent Kaiju also do not give themselves names, usually only referring to themself by what others call them. (Kaiju No. 9 did not give himself a name, rather sticking to Number 9 as his internet name.). Size also matters for threat level, the bigger kaiju usually being more likely to be a higher fortitude (Yoju are smaller, human sized. Honju are Giant, around the size of a building but they can be even bigger, around the size of a whole town. Daikaiju are smaller and can be human sized but can also be as big as a Honju). Kaiju are a symbol of fear, a single kaiju in an area is enough to scare off people into shelters while waiting for the Defense Force to arrive. Kaiju are also put into priority when they appear, if its a singular Yoju, a single soldier will be sent out, a small squadron (around a dozen soldiers) will be sent out for a Honju or an entire division if the Honju is bigger, Daikaiju will have an entire division attack it if its large, and if its smaller, a vice-captain or a captain will fight it. Provided by Izumo Tech, these weapons are battlesuits which keep the abilities and strength of a kaiju when it was alive and are strong enough to seriously damage or kill Daikaiju-class monsters; however the user must be compatible with them to use them properly (Only Numbers 1-7 and Number 10 were weaponized, Numbers 8, 9, 11-15 were not weaponized). The combat suit used by members of the Defense Force is a bioweapon made of kaiju cells and muscle fibers. Depending on the Unleashed Combat Power of every user (0% to 100%), it accordingly augments the wearer's physical attributes like strength, speed, precision, and reflexes. An unleashed combat power of 40% or higher is stated to be Platoon Leader level. According to a Vice-captain in the manga, an unleashed combat power of 84% is high enough to attain the rank of captain anywhere in the Defense Force. Abuse or extended use of the combat suit's power can cause overheat, injuring its wearer and causing physical pain to the point of making them bleed due to exhaustion.
