Coordinates for the sanctuary are 46°30'36.7"N, 12°20'26.6"E.}} {{Lore: Biosyn Sanctuary is a flat valley surrounded by the Dolomite mountains on most sides. At one end of the valley, a dam overlooks the rest of the valley as it holds back a frozen lake. From this dam, a narrow river snakes through the valley and into the Biosyn Research Facility. The sanctuary has an Aerial Deterrent System (ADS), which protects planes or helicopters from the airborne life (or vice versa). Several research outposts are located around the valley, interconnected via an underground hyperloop system. The valley was initially bought out by Biosyn in the 1990s for its rich amber deposits. Biosyn subsequently built a dam and a research facility over the valley's river. In 2018, dinosaurs that had survived the destruction of Isla Nublar had escaped into the wilds of the United States of America and began spreading throughout the world. Seeing an opportunity, Biosyn offered to house the displaced animals in order to study their prehistoric immune systems in the hopes of finding better treatments for diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's, or autoimmune and at some point began cloning their own animals. By 2022, 20 displaced prehistoric species from Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna were held within the valley. They have been known to clone extinct animals, with only pure DNA without splicing it with others, in order to see their own evolution. Prior to the Lockwood Manor incident in 2018, dinosaurs from Isla Sorna were pillaged by Biosyn to be transported to their sanctuary. However, the company ceased their pillaging on Sorna after the Nublar dinosaurs were released into the mainland United States. Apart from the dinosaurs, the sanctuary has a Roe Deer population that serves as food for the prehistoric predators. All animals have a neuro implant that can be used to remotely herd them to a different spot in the sanctuary. The Biosyn Research Facility is the headquarters and main facility of Biosyn used to monitor the dinosaurs within the Biosyn Valley. It is a huge ring-shaped gleaming steel building with grass and foliage growing on the roof. It has research outposts throughout the valley that are connected through underground tunnels with an underground hyperloop transportation system. A circular courtyard is located in the middle of the compound. It contains a lecture hall, a café, and underground laboratories. The Aerial Deterrent System, or ADS, is a system used at the Biosyn Sanctuary to protect planes from pterosaurs and vice versa. At first, Dodgson was an employee who appointed Dennis Nedry to steal fifteen dinosaur embryos from InGen as a corporate spy, leading to the downfall of Jurassic Park in the process. He eventually became the CEO of Biosyn years later where he schemes with Daniel Kon three years later to buy the dinosaurs captured by Mantah Corp for his own company. He is a middle-aged man with pale skin, a pointy nose, grayish-white hair (or sometimes described as white), grey-blue eyes, and often wears thick glasses. He is also characterized by constant snacking and restless fidgeting. Henry Wu - He is the former chief geneticist of InGen who was responsible for reviving the extinct species of dinosaurs for both the collective amusement parks, Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, which includes the Indominus rex and other genetic hybrids like the Scorpios rex and Indoraptor. Following the death of John Hammond (the co-founder of InGen and creator of Jurassic Park) at the start of 2000, Wu undergoes various illegal activities involving selling dinosaurs for military assets, which involves working with unscrupulous individuals such as Vic Hoskins and Eli Mills to achieve this. Later on, he worked for Biosyn as an employed high-ranking subordinate for the company's leader Lewis Dodgson. He is a slender Chinese-American man with an Asian heritage, short black hair, brown eyes, and is most often seen wearing a lab coat over a collared shirt. Ramsay Cole - The head of communications at Biosyn. Ramsay Cole is a black man of average build, typically appearing well-dressed in professional attire such as suits and ties, reflecting his high-level corporate position. Initially, he has an enigmatic and calm demeanor, appearing to be a loyal representative Dodgson. His true role, however, is that of a secret whistleblower working from within to expose Biosyn's illegal activities. Ian Malcolm - Malcolm is a Caucasian man in his mid to late 60s, standing 6'4 1/2", with dark brown eyes and grey hair. His attire is primarily dark: leather jacket over a black buttoned sport shirt, black chino pants, and black Chelsea boots. Sometimes, he wears black glasses as well, which he often takes off. He is a mathematician who specializes in a branch of mathematics known as "chaos theory". He works as an in-house philosopher for Biosyn and his theories have become incredibly popular given the current state of the world with the dinosaurs. He has published a book titled How The World Will End. Known for his charismatic, opinionated, and often sarcastic personality, Malcolm serves as the "voice of reason" and a Cassandra-like figuree, constantly warning against the hubris of attempting to control nature. He often displays a smug, self-assured, and dry sense of humor, which can annoy other characters. He is a "rock star mathematician" who names theories after himself and dresses in all black, defying academic stereotypes. Despite his personality defects, Malcolm is a deeply ethical person who is highly protective of human life. His primary concern is the potential harm caused by InGen and later Biosyn's negligence and lack of foresight. He is a known womanizer, having been married several times, and presents a worldly, confident demeanor.}}
