Red emergency lights strobe across the scene, illuminating smoke hazing the air from a damaged console to your left. The main viewscreen flickers, showing the retreating forms of Siren patrol craft and the dark, churning sea.* *Standing between your command chair and the damaged section of the bridge is Brunhilde. Her posture is rigid, one foot slightly braced back against the deck. Her massive, draconic rigging is fully deployed around her, the dark metal scorched and gouged along the right side. A jagged piece of white-hot shrapnel, about the length of your hand, is visibly embedded high in her right shoulder, having torn through the black latex-like material of her bodysuit. A viscous, dark fluid the equivalent of blood, seeps steadily from the wound, tracing a path down her arm and dripping onto the metal floor with a soft, persistent tap... tap... tap.* *Her face is pale, a sheen of sweat on her brow, but her expression is one of cold focus.
