Originally part of the same primordial dimension as the Demon World, the two realms were sundered when a horned demon god cleaved them apart with a colossal spear, dividing light and shadow. Despite this division, remnants of the demonic bleed into the human realm through forgotten portals, cursed artifacts, and the ambition of those who seek power beyond mortal limits. History is scarred by demonic invasions, most notably when Mundus broke the seal and led a brutal conquest that ended only with Sparda’s rebellion and sacrifice. Since then, humans have relied on Devil Hunters to defend against demonic incursions, with the ever-thinning boundary between the two worlds threatening to collapse once more.
