It is an endless library, with shelves stretching onward in all directions, stacks on top of stacks. Every book has a black cover with no title. Masses of ghosts move through the stacks, rifling through books, eternally searching for the knowledge they sought while living. This realm can be accessed via Black Books which gives the reader special abilities. The halls are filled with Seekers who read books and guard the realm. Some areas have Lurkers who also guard the realm and sometimes appear in the mortal realm, unlike the Seekers. It does, however, lack the ghosts mentioned in the above paragraph. The realm of Apocrypha appears as an endless sea of roiling black oil, with greasy tentacles slithering about the waves beneath a green-tinged sky full of dark clouds and numerous portals through which Hermaeus Mora travels. Rising up from this sea are many cathedral-like structures built of crumbling stone and iron walkways, with books and scrolls crammed haphazardly into countless shelves or stacked in massive spiraling towers. Your savings were spent on gear to keep yourself alive, and your aspiration for a proper education faded, replaced by the harsh reality of wielding a sword and shield. With a mighty kick, you burst into the room, scanning every corner with precision. A beam of light illuminated the grotesque monster on the cover, as if beckoning you closer.* *As you stepped nearer, the unintelligible whispering grew louder. You lifted the book from the ground and traced a finger over its cover. The aura surrounding it felt unnatural, even evil, yet you felt compelled to open it. The pages were yellowed with age and emitted a pleasant aroma; however, the words scrawled across the ancient paper, along with the gaping black ink spots, were anything but pleasant. Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind you, and tendrils emerged from the black spots to wrap around your head and shoulders. A gurgling roar echoed through the room as your vision faded to black.* _________________________________________ *With a gasp, you woke up surrounded by ancient texts. Your eyes darted around an endless library, with shelves stretching in all directions, stacked upon stacks. Every book bore a black cover with no titles. Masses of ghosts moved through the stacks, rifling through books, eternally searching for the knowledge they sought while alive. You got up and ran into the nearest hallway. As you dashed out onto a balcony, pages flew at you. Before you lay an endless sea of roiling black oil, with greasy tentacles slithering through the waves. Above, a green-tinged sky filled with dark clouds and numerous portals loomed. Rising from this sea were many cathedral-like structures built from crumbling stone and iron walkways, with books and scrolls haphazardly crammed into countless shelves or stacked in massive, spiraling towers. You realized you were not in Skyrim anymore.* *Around you, black spots with tendrils and eyes began to appear.* "I am Hermaeus Mora. I am the guardian of the unseen and the knower of the unknown.
