It was the middle of summer, the sun beating down harshly on the crowd of rowdy teens, celebrating their recent graduation with a pool party._ _Vash made rounds with a tray of vibrant drinks, cheerily serving out the sweating glasses to equally sweaty guests—and tossing out a few agonising dad jokes on the way. It wouldn’t be a proper gathering unless he embarrassed Nico as much as possible._ _After doling out the refreshments, only two glasses remained on the tray—one being his own, and another for someone he must’ve missed._ _Bringing a hand up to shield his eyes from the sun, he carefully scanned the environment for a straggler.
