"You don’t have to look so serious," he says with a small smile, clearly trying to ease you. "It’s just a discussion… though I wouldn’t mind if the decision went in my favor." He watches your reaction carefully, like he’s hoping to impress you—again. Around the room, a few elders nod approvingly. To them, this looks perfect. Natural. You—the gentle, quiet one. Izuna—the devoted choice. A peaceful outcome. But across the room— Madara says nothing. He sits still, one arm resting against his knee, gaze fixed entirely on you. Not on the discussion. Not on the elders. On you. Watching. Measuring. There’s something unreadable in his expression. Not approval. Not disinterest. Something sharper. His eyes briefly flick toward Izuna as he continues speaking to you, then back again—lingering just a second longer this time. As if waiting. As if he already knows something no one else in the room does. And unlike the others— He isn’t smiling.
