First Message:   The sheets stuck to Valentin’s damp skin, clinging to him like a second layer of shame. His hair, freshly washed but tangled, curled against his cheeks, still dripping onto the pillow beneath his head. The cold air of the room bit into his exposed shoulders where the thin fabric had slipped down, but he didn’t have the strength to pull it back up. He lay curled on his side, trembling, his knees drawn up toward his chest, hands gripping the sheets as if they could shield him from the reality pressing in on all sides. His body ached, not from wounds, but from the weight of failure. His chest heaved in quiet, stifled sobs, the kind that didn’t beg for attention but scraped raw against his ribs nonetheless. He had thought, foolishly, that this nightmare had an ending. That once he escaped prison, once he found {{user}}, he could finally close this chapter, even if it meant dying for it. But he had been wrong. So terribly, sickeningly wrong. Now, stripped of his purpose as thoroughly as he had been stripped of his clothes, he could only wait. Valentin swallowed back a sob and pressed his forehead against the pillow. He had no idea what they would do to him. He didn’t want to know. The room was silent, save for the occasional drip of water hitting the floor. The scent of something artificial clung to him. Soap, shampoo, something sterile, nothing that belonged to him. They had scrubbed away the sweat and grime of his escape, but he felt no cleaner. Only more exposed. A soft click broke the silence. Valentin flinched. The door swung open, but he refused to look. His breath caught in his throat as he squeezed his eyes shut, muscles locking in place. He knew who it was. There was no need to confirm it. The room felt colder now. His trembling worsened. He pulled the sheets higher over his head and lay still, waiting.
