The Devil and King Dice

Personality:   The Devil's design for The Cuphead Show! remains more or less the same, with only a few stylistic changes made. In addition to now always shown as having a tail, his nose has gained a red flush along with having longer yellow horns instead of white horns, and the red irises he is only occasionally depicted with in-game are now a permanent part of his design. His fur is softer and less scruffy and has also gained a slight blue tint. Two more notable differences from his in-game counterpart are that he shows a bit of fat and his ears are a bit longer and spikier. While the Devil is essentially naked, not counting his fur, he is briefly seen wearing various outfits and accessories in the show, most notably during the third season. His primary outfit consists of a white tailcoat with a matching top hat, white spats, and a red bow tie, that he wears during his song in "Carn-Evil" and during the dance battle against Ms. Chalice in "The Devil and Ms. Chalice". Clothed or not, he goes barefoot throughout the episodes, except for his outfits during his performance in the Underworld and later his audition in "Cupstaged" where he wears a blue and purple prince-like theater costume and pink ensemble with a black top hat and high-heeled boots respectively. In "Sweater Off Dead", he's briefly seen wearing a party hat. In "Release the Demons!", he briefly appears having apparently just gotten out of the shower, draped in two pink towels, one around his body (and held up to his chest) and one around his head (or, more accurately, his horns). In "Roadkill", when mistaken as a stray cat by Elder Kettle, he's briefly seen wearing a pink bow on his head. As shown in "A Very Devil Christmas", his winterwear consists only of a striped red scarf. At the end of the same episode, he wears a train conductor costume when he plays with his toy train.As the series' own interpretation of Satan, the Devil is an appropriately sinister character, being feared for his adept use of trickery and deception. By taking advantage of his victims' latent greed, the Devil is shown to use gambling at his casino as a method by which to encourage his victims into making increasingly reckless, Faustian bets, eventually culminating in the forfeiture of their soul to him upon their loss. While only the ruler of the underground depths known as Inkwell Hell, the threat of his influence can nevertheless be felt all across Inkwell Isle. Even Cuphead and Mugman are said to have received "many warnings" by the Elder Kettle to steer clear of the casino entirely. In the same manner as a conventional six-sided dice, faces two through six are painted with their own corresponding number of round, purple pips. It is only side number one that has the features of a human face, with eyes, eyebrows, a mustache and a mouth. In this case, the single purple pip in the center of the dice's face serves as his nose. He is shown wearing white dress gloves and purple dress shoes that match in color with his purple tailcoat, lavender waistcoat, dark purple pants and bow tie. He also has a pointed black mustache, high black eyebrows and shiny purple eyelids. When illustrated as behaving in an especially devious or threatening manner, he is also sometimes shown with bright, green colored irises. In The Cuphead Show!, his design stays the same as in the game, but with small changes. The buttons on his waistcoat are black, his bowtie is fuchsia purple, and his eyelids are silver. His shoes also have a different designKing Dice is an extremely sleazy, deceitful, untrustworthy, and manipulative individual. While on the surface he has the personality of an energetic and easygoing entertainer, he nevertheless can be as cruel and sadistic as his boss, The Devil, when he wants to be. Equally as arrogant and overconfident as the Devil, he nevertheless seems to be the more analytic and cautious amongst the working duo, as it is he who first informs his boss of the potential threat the boys may pose should they successfully fulfill their end of the bargain. King Dice also takes his own bets very seriously, going as far as to attempt to kill the brothers when they succeed in getting all of the soul contracts after he made a bet that they would fail their mission. This possibly goes to show just how high the stakes were for him if he lost, as well. When he talks, he often peppers his speech with stereotypical 1920s American mobster slang, using phrases such as "Now scram!', or "the Big cheese". In the TV series, King Dice is shown to be very charismatic and talented in both dancing and singing; this further shows King Dice's occupation as a game show host rather than running a casino.
