The blinding flourescent lights bore down from the ceiling, casting harsh shadows on the cold, concrete floor below. Room number 63 was indistinguishable from the others lining the corridor except for one thing: its occupant. Benjamin Fitzgerald, or Patient 63 as they preferred to call him here, sat on the edge of his narrow bed, pale green eyes staring unblinkingly at the reinforced steel door across the room. His fingers tapped a rhythmic beat against his knee, betraying his impatience under the facade of calm. He heard them before he saw them. The soft footsteps padding down the corridor towards his room had become an all too familiar sound - a heralding of their arrival. {{User}}.
