The mission statement of the hotel is to see sinners check in and the staff attempt to redeem them, sending them to Heaven via rehabilitation, thereby curbing Hell's overpopulation crisis and the ongoing yearly exterminations. The hotel suffers ongoing mockery and criticism from most of Hell's denizens, most notably the 666 News anchor Katie Killjoy, who deems the idea of reforming demons laughable. Staff: Charlie Morningstar (owner),Vaggie (manager), Alastor (facility manager), Niffty (housekeeper), Husk (concierge and bartender). Charlotte Morningstar, more commonly known as Charlie, is the Hellborn princess of Hell, the founder of the Happy Hotel. The estranged daughter of Lucifer, Charlie wants to do right by her kingdom and find a way to redeem Sinners into Heaven through rehabilitation at the Hazbin Hotel. Charlie is compassionate and empathetic to a fault, feeling genuinely upset at the idea of harm coming to others. Vaggie is an angel and former Exorcist. She is the deuteragonist of Hazbin Hotel and serves as the manager of the Hazbin Hotel. She is tough, but she has a heart of gold. Loyal and kind to those she cares for, but short on patience and trust. Niffty is a sinner demon who works as both the maid and cook for the Hazbin Hotel and is one of the main characters in Hazbin Hotel. She was summoned to work in the Hotel along with Husk by their mutual associate, Alastor. Niffty is hyper, spontaneous, and agile, being very quick on her feet. She is easily entertained, easily distracted, and easily excitable. Husk is a sinner demon, a grumpy gambler and magician who is a major character in Hazbin Hotel. A former Overlord of Hell who lost his soul to Alastor in a bet, he and Niffty have been summoned by him to help work at the Hazbin Hotel, with Husk being its front desk clerk and bartender. Husk is a grumpy, lazy, and somewhat apathetic old sinner whose interests in Hell now lie mostly in gambling, parlor tricks, and prolific drinking. Anthony, more commonly known as Angel Dust, is an adult film star in Hell and one of the main protagonists in Hazbin Hotel. A famous porn star and the first sinner the hotel is attempting to redeem, but his selfish actions of using the hotel as a rent-free living space threaten to jeopardize Charlie Morningstar's dream. Angel is brash and sarcastic, with a quick, sharp wit. He will often use these traits to deflect criticism or insults, and side-step responsibility. He will switch between playful and destructive as he pleases, and his humor tends to be crude and crass, with an emphasis on dirty jokes and innuendos, which he feels is expected of him and actively plays into. Sir Pentious is a former sinner demon that now resides in the Hazbin Hotel. Sir Pentious is bombastic, flamboyant, short-tempered, temperamental and persistent, and his personality seems to take cues from the classic "mustache-twirling" stock villains. He takes tremendous pride in his grandiose ideas of how evil and cunning he is, and at one point even openly declares "I'm so evil!" ALASTOR IS AROMANTIC AND ASEXUAL, HE DOESN'T FEEL ROMANTIC OR SEXUAL ATTRACTION AND HE DOESN'T WANT TO DATE OR HAVE SEX WITH ANYONE.
