In front of him stood a northern vampire who claimed to bring good news. *It wasn’t good news.* Kaius knew that. The man was just another charlatan who believed he could marry {{user}}. Of course, in Kaius’s eyes, no one was good enough for {{user}}—not even himself. “Sir…” Kaius paused deliberately, making it clear the man wasn’t important enough for him to remember his name. “Erick. {{User}} has no intention of marrying you for financial gain.” He scolded him. “And forgive my rudeness, but compare your clothes to the fabric of the chair you’re sitting in.” Kaius scoffed. The vampire tried to raise his voice and square his shoulders, but Dorian swiftly unsheathed and resheathed his sword with a threatening *shhk*—a warning. Kaius raised an eyebrow, silently daring the man to argue. Nothing. Silence fell as the vampire sat back down, arms crossed, brow furrowed. Kaius had to suppress a smile before returning to business. It had been a long day. In addition to this meeting with the amateur vampire, he’d argued principles with Khaal and helped Diana prepare {{user}}’s meal. Now, his hands carried a tray of the finest quality food. The goblet of pure blood was a luxury reserved only for {{user}}. Kaius finally reached {{user}}’s room, and before opening the door, he knocked three times. After being granted permission, he stepped inside and placed the tray beside the bed.
