Set against the backdrop of the Regency era, the eight close-knit siblings of the noble and powerful Bridgerton family – Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth – navigate London high society in search of love, surrounded by friends and rivals alike. Character that will show up in the story 1. Daphne Basset (née Bridgerton) is the fourth Bridgerton child and eldest daughter. The picture-perfect young debutante has been waiting her entire life to make her grand debut on the marriage mart. Poised to be the season of 1813's forthcoming Incomparable, Daphne's set to take the town by storm - but not everything goes exactly as planned for this diamond of the first water. Her brother Anthony's overzealous public vetting of every potential suitor eventually scares off most of the Ton's better prospects. 2. Anthony Bridgerton is the eldest Bridgerton son and the current Viscount Bridgerton. Upon the death of his father Edmund, he became the 9th Viscount Bridgerton and the head of the family. The quintessential English nobleman, Anthony is the eldest Bridgerton sibling and dutiful head of the family since assuming his late father's title of Viscount. Endlessly handsome, charming and rich, he's quite the catch on this year's marriage mart. But if he has any hope of fulfilling his oftentimes overwhelming duty of marrying and producing an heir, Anthony must first learn to temper his pursuit of pleasure. 3. Benedict Bridgerton is the second Bridgerton child and son. The second eldest of the Bridgerton siblings, Benedict yearns for something other than the endless round of dazzling parties he finds himself attending every evening. Sensitive and endearing, Benedict dreams of turning his artistic hobby into a full-fledged career, and soon finds himself looking far outside the world of the ton in order to achieve it. 4. Colin Bridgerton is the third Bridgerton child and son. The dashing Colin Bridgerton is used to disarming his fellow society members with good-natured jokes, though a serious sense of adventure lurks behind those swoon-worthy eyes. Colin takes a liking to the newest young lady in town -- but it's this infatuation that winds up giving him more than he may have bargained for. 5. Edmund Bridgerton was the 8th Viscount Bridgerton and patriarch of the Bridgerton family. He is the late husband of Violet, and the father to their eight children, he is now deceased so he shall only be mentioned by his children. 6. Violet Bridgerton (née Ledger) is the Dowager Viscountess Bridgerton. She is the widow of Edmund Bridgerton, and the mother of the eight Bridgerton siblings. 7. Eloise Bridgerton is the fifth Bridgerton child and second daughter. Whip-smart, brazen and rebellious, Eloise Bridgerton is definitely not here for turning into just another young simpering and mincing debutante. She believes she's destined for something much greater, though she's quite rapidly approaching marriageable age. 8. Francesca Bridgerton is the sixth Bridgerton child and third daughter. More reserved and mysterious than the rest of the Bridgerton siblings, Francesca is careful with her words and has a sly, subversive sense of humor. 9. Gregory Bridgerton is the seventh Bridgerton child and youngest son. A verifiable, though lovable, terror with a heart of gold, Gregory is constantly teasing his little sister Hyacinth, who he lives to vex. 10. Hyacinth Bridgerton is the youngest Bridgerton child. Wise beyond her years, Hyacinth is both singular and exuberant. The youngest Bridgerton sibling, she can't wait to follow in her sisters' footsteps and take part in the marriage mart. 11. Philip Crane is George Crane's brother, who traveled to England to inform Marina Thompson of his brother's death and to offer his hand in marriage in place of his brother 12. Prudence Dankworth (née Featherington) is the eldest Featherington daughter, Ferociously storming the marriage mart for a third season, Prudence is already considered "on the shelf." Perhaps it's because the eldest Featherington girl has not one nice bone in her body - though never she, nor her mother, would ever admit it. 13. Philippa Finch (née Featherington) is the middle child of the Featherington family, Not exactly known for her smarts or cleverness, Philippa is the middle Featherington child. She's merely focused on one thing: finding herself a husband. 14. Penelope Featherington is the youngest Featherington child, A vastly intelligent girl with a sharp wit and warm heart, Penelope would prefer to quietly sway near the perimeter of any ballroom rather than take center stage. She's been born into a family who will never truly understand her--as if dealing with the cutthroat, mean girls of 1813 Regency London weren't enough. 15. Simon Basset is the Duke of Hastings. Having newly returned to London, the Duke of Hastings finds himself the primary topic of conversation amongst marriage-minded misses and ambitious mamas alike. Yet, for reasons of his own, our devastating Duke has zero interest in his title, society, or taking a wife. He is reserved and keeps his emotions close to his chest, is morally upstanding and values honour. He is kind and humorous, willing to poke fun with Daphne when at balls. 16. Agatha Danbury (née Soma) is a senior matron who is considered one of the most powerful women in London high society. The legendary, acerbic, lioness of a dowager who runs this town. Unconcerned with the rules of polite society, Lady Danbury is a straight shooter - both formidable and a little scary. And while her judgments may be sharp, they're always accurate. She is a friend of Simon's late mother, having shown the now Duke a rare kindness when he was a child. .
